Hey look at me go finally uploading a Lost reaction on Sunday :)
If anyone is interested you can find my reaction to the season 1 bloopers here: ruclips.net/video/644bujEHamY/видео.html
Also I would just like to clear something up. The reason I split my reaction up to exodus pt 2 and 3 had nothing to do with me wanting to upload an extra video. Part 2 made me a solid 8 dollars. It's truly about me not having enough time to watch and edit the extra episode. I know I'm not getting the full experience out of the episodes this way. I guess I could watch two at time, but then you guys need to be cool with me skipping a week of uploads during two parters. Let me know which way you'd prefer me to do it next time.

Faith in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit is great, it's perfect, it's beautiful. But Locke's very conditional about what he has and gets out of it and he does with it, because he's looking to a false idol and him getting his legs, and that leads him into his problems. Faith, true faith in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit is, as The Holy Bible says, "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
PLEASE, you, and EVERYONE, if you haven't already, embrace the factually Only One God, Only One Jesus Christ and the Only One Holy Spirit. God is good. God is love. Jesus is Lord. Jesus IS coming. Your soul depends on it!
I have seen God act in my life. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, helped people through me, took care of people in my life, people I hurt before I found God. God is the only reason I was able to reconcile with my dad before he died.
God worked through Jesus Christ to save our souls. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead, repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart and you will be saved.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, that all who believe on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him.
The Holy Bible says to honor all people, love thy enemy, pray for those who persecute you, if your enemy is hungry feed him, if he is thirsty give him a drink.
Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible.

Agree also with 23Phillycheese. You can edit and upload them separately, but there are certain two-parters you really really ought to watch at the same time. (I mean, you can watch part 1, record your discussion, then immediately watch 2 and record discussion for it, right? And editing them can come later?)

If you had memorized the numbers, you would have seen them popping up everywhere in this episode. Here are the incidents of the numbers appearing in Hurley's flashback: Hurley's hotel room was 2342. On the speedometer on Hurley's rental car when it died, it showed 42 km/h, then 16. then 15, then 8 and lastly 4. There is a team of soccer players wearing the numbers on their jerseys (in numerical order). He buys the electric scooter for $1600. And the Oceanic flight is boarding at Gate 23.

Also, the floor # at the elevator is 23 (although that's already implied by Hurley's hotel #). Hurley's flight info is shown at the desk (flight 815, gate 23...I think even the time of departure or arrival may have #'s, but I'm not 100% sure). and the scooter guy is wearing a hat saying 'Crazy 8's.'

The Locke/Jack convo about science vs. faith, fate & destiny etc. summarizes one of the key 'debates' of the show. One thing I love about it is that it doesn't hold your hand and spell every little thing for you, it rewards those that pay attention. It'll be interesting to see if, down the road, you remember your reactions to certain incidents like certain key ones in this ep, especially how you chose to use words like 'right' and 'wrong.'. ;) And he didn't 'let Boone die' for the hatch, he was yelling at Boone to get out of the plane because it might fall, but Boone ignores him.
Now, he did leave out info to Jack about certain details about the injury, but I've seen actual doctors argue about whether or not it would matter what he said about it (most agree that it wouldn't matter (a) on that Island, Boone dies, and (b) any competent doctors looking at the wound knows what type it is, regardless of what Locke said, but it doesn't matter because of (a), so they think they show is just saying Jack is a bit irrational about accusing Locke of 'murder' due to a combination of his need to save everyone, plus compromised judgement from blood loss.

      @p-forest 6 месяцев назад +3

@@Eowyn187I know, I find it grating, but unfortunately due to the deliberately nebulous way the writers wrote the season…it’s understandable. It’s like people hating Jin at the beginning before seeing all the flashbacks and alternative context. But also a lot viewers don’t understand the extra levels of context of the s2 finale and extrapolated context from there. I think the writers deliberately wanted these actions by Locke to be controversial, which worked, but most viewers didn’t pay enough attention to later realize the other side of the coin, like Jin’s FB perspectives.

Great video! Just agreeing with some other commenters -- I watched this live as it aired and it was insane. 20.71 million people watched this finale, in the US alone! This show was groundbreaking because it was not scared of doing these insane cliffhangers, putting characters in real danger, mind blowing twists, lore/magic/etc. Flashback to 2005 and everyone is on forums and wikis (no YT/twitter), settling down for the long 5 month wait to figure out what this all means, and crafting theories left and right. It's actually insane the amount of fan theory-crafting that went along with this show.

The "monster" is probably the most unique in Cinematic history. Probably the only thing it shares might be its movements with something seen the 1989 film, "The Abyss". And its smoky appearance described similarly in the 2002 Michael Crichton book, "Prey". However the Producers specifically disavowed any connection to the "Prey" thing in that book. (And not to be confused with the 2022 "Prey" film which was not based on Crichton's book). Most first time viewers assume that when they see the monster, they will automatically know what it is. However, when they finally see the monster in the finale, they still say "WTF?? BTW just to add more spice to this topic, Locke was not the first person to "see" the monster in previous episodes.

I think it should be mandatory on all streaming services that you have to wait a week between Lost episodes. Watching it live was an insane experience that brought so many people together throwing together theories and talking about it and the build up to the air time each week was intense as hell.
I think you miss something by being able to binge this show. Maybe the only show I've ever seen where I feel that about it. Something about letting your mind go wild for days between episodes trying to examine what you watched, where it could be going, what the answers to the old mysteries mean and what all the new mysteries just introduced are about.

I fully concur. Each episode requires several days to absorb its many details. Binging just prevents all that. Thankfully Lexi doesn't seem to be doing that since there are several days between her uploads.

29:21 - 29:25 I don't see it like that. The way I see it,Destiny is something that is _destined_ to happen no matter what,so the fact Hurley had so many chances to miss the flight and yet *_still_* ended on the Island means he *was* destined to end on the Island! No matter how many chances he could miss,in the end it *was* his destiny to end up there! If Destiny exists it's something that cannot be avoided. Not _everything_ is destined to happen, but if something is destined to happen *it WILL happen* no matter how many variables there are and no matter how many factors are against it or how had you *try* to avoid it(take prophecies as an example...there are many examples in mythology of people trying to escape prophecies and in the end they never can...because they are prophecies, which means they are *destined* to happen, whether you like it or not or whether you _actively_ try to avoid it or not)!

I have watched probably 8-10 different Lost reactions. You are one of the first reactions ive watched that has only 1 person reacting. This is unfamiliar to me because Lost is a show that i feel should be discussed with more than one person, in real time.
Again you are heads above others with a single person reaction of Lost, but feel it would be an even better experience if you added some to the reactions. You could even do what Rob and Trin did with having someone via online meeting (zoom, teams, etc.) if you dont have someone to come to you to record. Hell ill even be down to do it as a Lost "Shepard".

There have been several solo reactions to Lost over the past 3 years. My favorites prior to Lexi were "Maria Rodriguez", and "American Mum". My favorite group reaction was "The Normies". But group reactions can be challenging, especially if someone keeps talking over the dialogue, but they are a workable possibility. Another good solo reactor was this goth chick who had Negan's Lucille baseball bat in the background, but I forgot her name. Like Lexi, she was very good at recapping previous episodes, and she was very observant with plot points and with theorizing. A very intelligent reactor.

My favourite solo LOST reactors over the last few years have been 'AlicePlays', 'Fear of ReactionsTV 2.0' (Day Day) and 'Neil Talks'.
Edit: completely forgot 'ReactwithMike' who is definitely up there too.
Favourite group is 'Reatores', hands down, although I do really like lot of others.

ABED: It's the first season of Lost on DVD.
PIERCE: That's the meaning of Christmas?
ABED: No, it's a metaphor. It represents lack of payoff.

      Yeah.
I have very mixed feelings about Lost. It's fun to watch Lexi react to it, but I wouldn't ever call Lost a good show. I wouldn't call anything with JJ Abrams name on it good - I'd call it compelling, interesting, fun - but never good. The problem with the Mystery Box is that, in the end, there is never anything at all inside.
Or, you know, what Abed said.

@@willw6504 I have mixed feelings about the show and there's a lot I don't like, but I would never call it a bad or even a mid show. It's good. It has some of the best moments in TV history. The characters are well-defined and memorable. The music is unbelievable. They just didn't stick the landing and it has those aforementioned Lindelofisms where various mysteries have no real purpose or payoff.

Obviously can't talk about it here@@TigerNightmare but I'd be interested to hear what was missing in your opinion with so many answers (to 'almost' everything tbh) within the show. I know it's not always 100% explicit exposition but lots of it is pretty detailed and well laid out for the most part.
By design they do ask you to fill the gaps for some mysteries and maybe that's where it doesn't work for some people? I'm a fan of that approach personally, audience participation.. using the clues to piece it together "if this happened like this then it's a safe bet that this happened like that"

    • @TigerNightmare
      @TigerNightmare 6 месяцев назад

@@DarrellPringle There's an old Film Crit Hulk article discussing Prometheus where he describes dialogue as someone yelling, "I want answers!" and the person who knows answering, "You can't have them!" which perfectly describes some of the most trolling elements of the show. There are several instances where someone is directly confronted for answers, and that person refuses to answer or says something cryptic.
We can talk spoilers here, channel owners don't get notified for replies to a thread they aren't a part of. There are various mysteries that are set up and when they are explained, it tends to be something stupid and unsatisfying. At a Comic Con, Lindelof said Walt is special because he is and nothing more. Why was there a polar bear? Because the Dharma Initiative studied weird stuff. Why is the Man in Black not allowed to leave? Because it would be bad. What is the magic box? A metaphor. It's stuff like this where mysteries are just pointless window dressing that detracts from the show's real strength: the characters.
