lol, season 1 finishes and the one thing she wants to know first is what happens with Sawyer, pretty funny considering how much she hated him at first, but that's Sawyer, he eventually grows on everyone

Sawyer is the best character on the show!
God this finale ... Honestly, I will never forget this final whiplash on the raft, the sheer happiness and euphoria of the moment (with the music and the characters' reaction) completely shattered with just one line. Damn, I love this show. I feel like there a lot of shows out there today that might be objectively more creative and better executed as wholes, but none of them impacted me the way Lost did.
I always thought about that, after watching a lot of different shows, from Twin Peaks to The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, True Detective (S1), Game of Thrones and many more. All amazing shows for different reasons.
But I always feel there's something honest about LOST, that even with all it's crazy ideas and concepts crammed in the show, the writers clearly love those ideas and are truly inspired by them, and thus it never feels fake or false, even if it sometimes doesn't 100% work. And crazy enough, a lot of it did work in my opinion.
I feel the same way!!! I truly love this, despite its imperfection. The great outweigh the clumsy!!!! (Also the ending was perfectly fitting and good, and I love it!!!)
So did I.
I watched the show religiously when it first aired, but once it was over I couldn't bring myself to watch it again, it just felt like something special. And only maybe a year ago did I get back on it.
And when I started to discover some major plot points, especially about the finale and the final season, almost 8 years later. I knew this show is truly special.
The first couple seasons of LOST were pretty much unparalleled in terms of its ability to build suspense and handle multiple story threads at once.
That being said, without spoiling too much, it was very apparent that the writers started making up certain plot points along the way in the later seasons and it didn't quite make sense.
The motive behind everything is also rather selfish, even though it's veiled as heroic.
I agree like I said the show is far from perfect. You can tell that there was some issues and that they had to drop some plot point but to me, the show never ever cheated or betrayed his audience. Because to me (my opinion here) Lost was never about the mysteries or the Island. They were cool and important, but it wasn't what the show was about. Lost has always been about the characters and their journey, and without spoiling anything, that's what the ending was about as well.
Every character (of the main cast at least) got a satisfactory arc and journey in my eyes, and again, the show and its ending were all about them, as it was always meant to be.
(I'm sorry for rambling like this, I have a lot of emotions about this show)
This is...a love letter to the show. It really is. I love editing and I love Lost so it's basically my cat nip. You can actually feel the love from Suraj through the edit. I can't say that about almost everything else I watch on RUclips. Kudos.
Nikki, imagine you just finished season 1 of Lost. Then, the following day you get stranded on a desert island. During your exploration of the island you find a crashed plane with a working DVD player, accompanied by the complete Lost box set. But you’re not s’posed to watch it. That’s Charlie with the heroin plane 🙂
I know this comment is a year old but damn it, can't Charlie just think rationally for a second?! He knows heroin is bad. He just managed to get off of it. He had Claire for god's sake! Didn't he have any will at all to resist it??

I remember watching this on TV. I was a kid and I had no idea that shows were divided into seasons. So I thought that this one is the last episode ever. I kept looking at the watch thinking "It should be wrapping up already". Only when the episode ended I figured that there must be more in the future. Thanks for these reactions: this is literally my favorite thing on youtube right now!
I have to say, these videos are something I never knew I needed. Not only are they a great way of "revisiting" the show without necessarily doing a full rewatch, you also get to see someone experience these moments for the first time (which we fans would all love to be able to replicate, somehow, with some Rick-and-Morty-type tech) guided by someone who truly loves the show and understands all about what it stands for - back when I first watched, I felt surrounded by people who misunderstood stuff. Thank you guys so much for uploading these!
These episodes were when I started liking Sawyer, Michael and Jin more. I always found cool that the three characters I originally disliked get endearing moments (such as the conversation about Christian or Jin and Sun's goodbye) before going on the raft. Feels like the producers' way of saying "these characters have behaved questionably... but you should care about them, they're about to go through some shit and there's a cliffhanger on top of it."

Man of science Vs man of Faith has to be some of the best character moments of TV... John and Jack story is soooooooo tragic and beautiful.. #LongLiveLocke
I love this show so much. This was the first grown up show I ever watched. Before this, it was 90210, vampire diaries and one tree hill. In this show, every single character has a complicated backstory. They have all done bad things e.g. Sun lying to her husband, Charlie being a drug addict and Sayid betraying his friend. They are far from perfect but they are like real people and that's why I love these characters.
And now our "WAAAAAALLLLLTTTT' begins...

I found your Lost reactions yesterday and have binge-watched all of them in like a day and I love it so so much! (so now that I'll have to wait for the next video I kind of feel like Nikki, having to wait for the next episode!)
These videos have been so amazing, I love the two of you in these videos. Nikki is so animated and just perfect for these reactions, and that combined with Suraj who probably represents most of us watching these reactions is just such an amazing combination. Also props Suraj for avoiding spoiling so well and also avoiding influencing her with your own opinions on characters or the show in general.
It just lets Nikki have more raw and pure reactions and the fact that she sometimes feels different about characters than I do, and other times react exactly the same way I did way back when just makes it even better. It really makes it her own reactions and it just makes it so much better regardless if it is a different feeling than I had say about a specific character.
I really really hope you guys can keep doing this through all of the seasons, i would watch every single video if you did. Regardless, thank you for the videos so far.

I'm so glad someone posted the first episode of this on /r/lost. I was ready to go for yet another re-watch myself, but seeing Nikki discover it for the first time has been much better. I've had a huge stupid grin on my face throughout most of the episodes.
Suraj, you said it - GREATEST SHOW EVER! Nothing could ever surprise me in the same ways that Lost did.
Nikki, if you read this, DO NOT LOOK UP ANYTHING! You will regret it forever if you don't experience it the proper way. (AND NO BINGES WITHOUT US!)

I'm watching Lost again after 16 years. It was my first favorite show. Watching you guys reacting is so nostalgic to me.

I've enjoyed watching the Normies for a while and I am thrilled to see reactions to LOST. It's one of my favorite shows of all time. I love seeing Nikki's reactions to the twists and turns. It's only the beginning 😁
It makes sense to be a Jack IRL but when you're watching a TV show about being stranded on a magical island it's pretty dumb to call Locke a psycho.

The weird stopping point between parts 2 and 3 are because there was no part 3 when it aired originally. There was just a 2-hour part 2 episode.
Yeah part 1 has aired alone and part 2&3 aired together the next week.
Most network shows have an act break that could serve as an episode split when they do that, apparently not in this case
A thing with this finale I can never get over is how trusting they are to Rousseau, like as far as I remember, other than Sayid hearing the voices and Rousseau's distress call, they don't really have any reason to believe that she herself isn't one of the others. She could've been leading the group into a trap with the dynamite plan, and/or weakening their numbers at the beach by splitting them into 2 groups
I think most of them still don't think the others are real, they probably just thought Ethen was a bad egg on the plane, even though he wasn't in the sensus. As for Rousseau they trust her because Sayid trusts her cause she could have shot and killed him but didn't, main reason why Charlie punched Sayid in that one part.

12:15 That part of the end is one of the most beautiful things I have seen in any show. Mostly it's the music that makes it so touching. My favourite moment of it is when Boone gives the asthma inhaler and Shannon smiles. (Strange that Suraj's cut almost all of the plane scene away.)

So fun fact about the smoke monster. It uses sound effects from taxi cab receipt machines. I live in NYC and when Lost was airing I remember the very first time I heard that sound outside right after watching an episode with the smoke monster. That freaked me the FUCK out.

They won't. Suraj mentioned at the beginning that they'd likely have the finale episodes released on the same day.
When I originally calc'd out how long this would take, I forgot these multi-part finales, but I believe I thought the end date would be like June 6, 2020. So, it's probably like April 2020.
When you're a RUclips creator, you want to have daily content, to keep the RUclips algorithm happy. LOST being so long gives them guaranteed content for years. If they released them sooner, they're shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to future content.

Kinda sad at how people still paint the act of doing drugs or relapsing as an irredeemably evil action. Like I get that attitude back in 2004 but it sucks how there's still no sympathy for addicts, just judgement. Also I feel as though it would take a lot more than a few weeks to overcome a heroin addiction, especially when you've forcibly gone cold turkey and not even been through therapy like you would in a proper rehabilitation programme. I know it's a show, not that serious lol, but still, addiction can be a lifelong disease, even after you're sober.

I mean, LOST is meant to be binged, hence most of the episodes ending on cliffhangers
cliffhangers are an argument to NOT binge... because if you don't have to wait for the next one, there's no suspense. Charlie had his thing last night, and today Des and P call on the phone? You haven't had enough time to emotionally process all that's happened, and details start to seep out. I did that w/ Breaking Bad and I barely remember alot of it :(
pewburrito If you don't remember Breaking Bad, that just means you have an attention deficit. I binged three seasons of Breaking Bad years ago, and it was so great that I retained everything.
Also, the point of cliffhangers is to entice the audience to watch the next episode ASAP. That's one of the main reasons why Stranger Things was one of the most binged Netflix shows ever.
except there was a year between S1 and S2, so, this cliffhanger was *not* meant to make people immediately watch the next ep ASAP. And I can tell you, the wait between S3 and S4 felt like one of the longest waits in my life. BTW, I purposely did *not* binge Stranger Things. I have a good bet I could quiz you on details of BB and Stranger Things and you wouldn't be able to answer all of them, but... perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps I do have ADD. And why do they want Walt? For what purpose? What in the world....what kind of island is this?!! It's like Charlie said, "Guys, where are we?"
- I'm just happy to see Claire once again with her baby but very disappointed with Charlie keeping the drugs with him. He better give it to Jack for medical purposes.

ErichWilliam I mean, he’s a great character, but he is an asshole that is willing to sacrifice people in order to learn more about the Island. He’s also very secretive. So I can understand why she hates him.
