Your point on binge watching the show is a major factor when it comes down to whether the person enjoys it or not.I actually was introduced to Lost when season 6 was airing on tv. We went to BlockBuster every other day after binging 2 or 3 dvd's full of episodes. Looking back, it was a very interesting way of experiencing the show bc we binged it but also watch season 6 live.
Well “Brother”, the best love story in this show is hands down, Desmond and Penny! That scene when they finally reconnect and talk on the phone, and they each say they love each other… 😢🙂
I was late to watching Lost (only watched this year) and so got to see every episode without having to wait each week. I absolutely loved this series. Characters and their development was great, storyline was engaging, well shot and well paced for the most part. Anyway, just wanted to tell someone. Thanks for giving us some new Lost realted stuff to dive into!
Lost was the first fandom I ever fell into. The plot line involved so many details, and I just loved hashing everything out in the ABC message boards with all the other people who were obsessed as I was. As someone who struggles with real-life interactions, it was blessing to me.
@@ChrisFerguson-zm4gt The hatch, when they opened it there was nothing in it except the button they had to press once every x amount of time for no reason at all.
Mr. Ekko has to hurt the worst. So much potential in his storyline. He was like the opposite of Locke In a lot of ways . I loved what he brought to the show
i really wanted mr eko and martin keemy (the soilder who came killed alex russo). Him being part of a private military, they could have had them know of each other or have previously met when mr eko was a drug kingpin
@@troubleondemand7703Almost. Eko was supposed to have a 3 season story arc. When he demanded to be written off the show, parts of his story were passed on to Ben and Desmond (e.g., It was Eko who was supposed to have the flashes of Charlie’s death. They were setting up the relationship with the church they were building).
Yeah, the pilot episode was mind-blowing and I was instantly hooked. The first 3 or 4 seasons were addictive and well-written as far as I was concerned. Towards the end they introduced so many different parts of this island that I kept wondering, "Jesus, how big is this damned thing"? I did stick it out to the end and was a bit let down at the finale. Overall, however, I still give it props for character development and originality. Thanks for the memories!
Yeah, I feel the same way. The first couple of seasons were great, then it just got too bloated. Instead of giving us a mystery and a resolution, they just kept stacking mystery on mystery. It just felt contrived at that point. Also, the reveal of smoke Monster felt like they pulled it out of their ass.
Honestly I have watched a lot of great series over the years. I still believe that the first season of LOST was probably one of the best first seasons of a television series ever. It just hit the ground running with great action, mystery and of course the flashbacks revealing the tragic and heartbreaking pasts of the characters. Its just a shame for me it all went downhill after that. Don't get me wrong I still watched it and enjoyed it but it was never the same. I can't remember the actors name but he played Charlie and was in the lord of the rings, he said originally they had a three season story but because of its popularity the studio wanted more seasons so they were forced to drag out what was a tight story into a bloated one. I wonder what the show would've been like if they had stuck to just the three seasons instead of having to add stuff all the time to pad the show out. I personally didn't like S2 because I thought the addition of that actress who is always getting arrested for DUI's was a bad choice , not sure if it was the way her character was written or her acting but she came across as really obnoxious, unlikable and toxic and she was suddenly one of the main stars. Apparently it was always written that S2 would be about her and those different survivors ONLY and I am dubious if that would've worked so maybe it worked out better that things got changed
@@laurarules3642 Lost never got "bloated". This is just the nonsene ppl like you say who read a lot of trash on the internet and think it's true. It's not.
So glad you mentioned the end, I've had so many conversations with people telling them that the whole show wasn't in purgatory just the last part of the final season. So many people decided the fan theory from the start was true when it obviously wasn't.
After years of watching great TV series I have learned its difficult to wrap up a show and do a finale that is satisfying to everyone. When Lost came out I was lucky to get the first season on an old DVD rip . Somebody I talked to online just posted me a bunch of random DISCS and said you need to watch this. It was called LOST (obviously) and I watched the entire first season in a week and loved it and re-watched it all again straight after. I followed the show as the episodes aired on television after that and I remember the first time I watched the ending being bitterly let down, angry and felt cheated. I took straight to online message boards (when we still had them) and would get into long arguments and debates with people. There seemed to be two camps, the Lost Apologists (they were called lol) who defended the show tooth and nail and the people who hated the ending lol, Oh and lets not forget the trolls who just stirred arguments up .. I have re-watched the entire show a few times since then with the benefit of them being in a boxset (which I bought and still have) so I could watch the episodes back to back instead of waiting a week to watch one and then waiting an entire year between seasons so I could follow it better and the ending is not as bad as I remember and I enjoy the show still. I mean look at the ending of The Sopranos (many regard as the greatest show ever) and how that pissed people off but people have mellowed to it and get it now with the passage of time. I would say Dexter could be classed as a bad ending and the worse part about it is they had TWO separate chances to do endings and they dropped the ball on both of them according to fans lol I wasn't as invested in Dexter as much as I was with Lost so I was indifferent but the fans seemed to be annoyed
I've always said the first 3 seasons of Lost were some of the best television I've ever seen. It was so enthralling and kept up the suspence masterfully. Season 4, with some of 5 and 6, are pretty good too but I always felt they couldn't keep up with seasons 1-3.
From what I’ve heard, Abram’s and Lindelof originally wanted 3 seasons but the network forced them to keep making more. Which I think definitely shows. They had 3 seasons of excellent plot lines and 3 seasons of mostly great but a step down
Personally I feel late season 3 all the way through season 5 is peak Lost. Once they started writing towards an endgame, that’s when the show became truly great in my opinion. While I do think season 6 is a step down from season 5 (my favorite) I think it was still a fantastic season and a great ending to the series.
@@d1want34 season 1 ending of Prison Break is my all time favorite season finale. that shit was 🔥 unfortunately the rest of the show didn't live up to it imo
I absolutely loved this show.I was hooked on a weekly basis when weekly viewings were all that existed. I’m surprised they didn’t involve the strange island’s powers as something that aged a child quickly over time.
I LOVED the show also,it was so different than anything on tv at the time. But,I must admit I became lost during it's run !!! I mean at times I didn't know-WTF-was going on. LOL. I also LOVED-Alias and 24.
In the first couple seasons the network was driving the show hard to stay grounded. Any concept that was too Sci fi was rejected, which is why they called Walt special...not psychic. If the plot happened in season 3 when they were given more freedom to do what they want. I'm sure they may have gone down that route.
@@kerry-j4m haha yeah, I know, right? But part of the reason why I loved it so much was because it WAS so strange! Not knowing where it was going was part of its appeal. Nothing else like it at the time. Same with Twin Peaks!
I was honored to have been invited to the actress who played Ben's (Michael Emerson) mother, her stage play in NYC. She is actually his real life wife. Emerson was the Narrator. I got to actually hang with him for quite some time, and met his wife too. It was such a threat. I would later meet Naveen Andrews (Sayid) at a movie premiere. God I was obsessed. (Had to edit this coz I see u mentioned Ben's Mom is played by his wife hehe)
Love it or hate it (I love it) it changed the landscape of television forever, it showed what it could be! There’s so many of peoples favourite shows since it’s debut season that arguably wouldn’t have been Green-lit or wouldn’t have been handed the budget they did if it wasn’t for Lost.
I remember when I first saw 'Across the Sea' back in 2010. I didn't like it and was actively angered by some of it. But through several re-watches over the years I came to realise that it actually unlocks the entire mythology of the show once you understand what exactly is happening and why. It's an answer episode for sure, just not in the way we expected or originally wanted. I view 'Across the Sea' as a decoder ring episode. You just need to know how to use it. I also think that Season Six works better if you watch 'Across the Sea' as the prologue to it and treat the episode as if it were the de facto season premiere, so it helps to contextualise everything that comes after.
Lost is a show so complex in it's story telling that I never fail to see so much that I missed the first time around, that on rewatch, it feels like a completely new episode. Even now I picked up on what appears to be an inside joke made by one of the survivors about the sound of what would be known as the smoke monster. In spite of all it's flaws, it's still one of the best shows that ever aired on network (or for that matter, cable) television, ever.
All these years later, after watching many, many shows, LOST is still my favorite TV watching experience. Some have come close, but none have taken my #1 spot. The final episode still makes me tear up. There are so many layers to it that it makes it one of those rare shows that gets better even on rewatches. That said, I would love to be able to watch it all again for the first time!
thanks for this great video. lost is easily my all time favorite show. i even got the limited edition box set off it off ebay. i admit i didnt really understand the final episode and wish it could of been explained more.
@@e.enriquez4589 Exactly I was so disappointed when they revealed what the smoke Monster was. They didn't give any type of clues to indicate they were going in that direction.
@@JLDReactions Yeah I really wanted the smoke monster to be a dinosaur lol I know they probably didn't have the budget to do a dinosaur every week , but they could've done a JAWS and just showed little portions of it mostly with the scary music in the background to make it work. I was underwhelmed when it was a smoke monster lol
My Sister got me into this TV Show. I watched it and bought all the DVD's of each series... I still re-watch it every once and a while. For my "love"...it's the Characters and the Story. Not a needed sense of "conclusion or ending"...just a love for the Characters.
Man, this recap brought back flashbacks from that era. Back when netflix was still shipping out dvd rentals and the streaming reliability was spotty at best for those wanting 1080p. Seeing Walt kill Ana Lucia and Libby to free Ben ( to save Walt Jr) re-affected me just now.
AGREED.That entire crash scene-HOOKED-you.I've re-watched the series a few times over the years tho, good characters you cared about.I actually bought the entire series from a pawn shop eons ago-$ 3.00 for each season,I was in hog heaven ( I live in Texas-LOL )then bought the entire seasons of 24 at the same pawn shop for $ 3.00 for each season-I was in hog heaven again !!! LOL.
Lost was the first TV show I binged. My Junior year English Teacher showed the first three episodes in class after our final project and the AP test. A group of friends and I that had all never seen it were hooked, torrented it, and watched it over the summer, trying to fit in one season a week so we could talk about it when we all hung out. The amazing character development formula roped us in, but the latter seasons are like tailor made for the kind of dudes that love “mindfuck” movies (all of us). I never rewatched it but once I finish rewatching breaking bad for the fifth time, I think I will.
I will always love this show, and it will always be in my top 10. It practically invented water cooler speculation TV. However, it will also be remembered for posing more mindblowing questions than it provided answers, and fan theories often eclipsed the writers plotlines.
@@KoolKeithProductions LIE? I said it posed better questions than it did answers, as in the answers were less satisfying than we were expecting after years of theorizing and speculation. I dont think anyone would argue with that, and if so, everyone's entitled to their opinions.
@@rig-zag Well whether an answer to a question was "mindblowing" or not certainly does depend on the individual, but I haven't heard a single fan theory better than what was in the show. And if you think you have, then that's more of a you problem than the show's problem. Because so-called fans of LOST seem to have an inflated view of themselves. They went from just watching the show, to thinking they ARE the show, and eventually thinking they are BETTER than what's in the show, when they clearly aren't. That's why some geeks on this very site have 9 hour long videos talking about how terrible the show was, and the entire time they do nothing but discuss their awful fan theories like the "Hurley Bird". I'm sure you know all about that one, don't you?
@@rig-zag Thanks for tapping out so quickly. You guys who like to lie about LOST never seem to be able to last long in debates, but his is a new record for me. Cheers.
It’s my favorite show of all time. That being said, if you’re interested in a show that spoonfeeds you answers in a neat little package, you’re gonna have a bad time. The best way that I can describe LOST is that it’s basically the Jazz of television. What you experience is nice enough on its own, but it’s your own speculation and emotional impact you put into the series that either heightens or detracts from your own enjoyment of the series.
I just clicked and before I watch this video I just want to say that I love when people talk about lost! I love that this show still has people talking about it after all this time!!❤❤
Back in 1992 there was a TV movie on NBC called "Danger Island" that starred Kathy Ireland. In that movie survivors of a plane crash wash up on a tropical island, found a mysterious research station abandoned in the 1970s, discover mysterious experiments have been carried out on the island, and have mysterious people living in the forest around them. There's even a monster on the island, an octopus sea urchin looking sea monster. It hits all the same beats as LOST. I have always wondered if this TV movie somehow influenced Abrams or Lindeloff, even subconsciously, when they were creating LOST.
One the main reason why season 4 had a short season is because the production was prematurely stopped in November 2007 due to the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike.
Yeah, Season 4 for me was the weakest season by a mile. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible or anything like that but it felt they really wanted to big up Widmore as being this major significant part of the overarching but it never really ended up going anywhere. Keamy was the biggest threat of the entire season but at the end of the day he was just some guy who had his own bottom line that no-one gave a fuck about.
I just rewatched a few months back for the first time since it went off the air, but I watched using the fan edit Chronologically LOST. It’s a very interesting way to rewatch it for anyone who has watched it before (not recommended for new viewers)
Because I lost my own dad the year of the finale, it hit me very very hard. But the 5th season nearly did me in with the show b/c of the confusing storyline. I've absolutely loved binge watching it and have seen it through three times.
The first two Seasons of Lost I maintain was / Is some of the best to Ever grace a television screen. Absolutely hooked you in and it was an insane time. Sadly, by season 3 and beyond it just went off the rails. But man. I need to rewatch season 1/2
Such a great show got me hooked every week, after every episode online to forums and discussus and talk about it. Also played the numbers in the lottery :) 99 score on this one.
I went and bought the entire series on Blu-ray mid-way thru this video. LoL. I own 3/4 of the show digitally thru Microsoft Movies/TV since (from my recollection) it was one of the 1st shows to be purchased digitally the next day after it aired on network TV. I bought seasons 1-4 thru my Xbox360 and fully caught up that way until midway season 5 then watched the episodes as their aired-on TV from there. Now I really want to rewatch the entire series as well as own it. Awesome video by the way, took me back.
That's the episode I always remember when thinking of Lost . You got me listening to the soundtrack in my head rn... From memory! Truly exemplary episode
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY correct it mattered how we viewed LOST. I waited after the first season to binge on DVD. Rewatching you get there are many answers are in fact there!
Heroes or Travelers. Strangely, 1 of heroes main characters is played by Naveen Andrew's who played Saied on Lost .heroes Was very popular but it took a massive hit during the writers strike and the plot got really screwed up. @@juliangrant9718
Its a great show but no. It has such great characters that I think ppl forgive the rather flawed storytelling. Most of the mysteries have no payoff to the point youve gotta believe they were just throwing whatever against the wall regardless of what stuck. It was exceptipnal for its time but I'd take the first three seasons of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Dexter, Ozark, The Wire, Black Mirror, over Lost, respectfully. And thats not even mentioning comedies like The Pffice, The Good Place, and Community. But I'd put it at the top of my Tier 2. Its a great watch pn the fharacters alone
Despite its divisive ending, Lost is one of the best TV shows ever made. I rewatched a couple years ago and it's aged incredibly well. The plot definitely gets a bit too over the top in the final season, but the core characters were always the heart of the show and they keep that sentiment throughout the shows ending, aside from a couple characters like Sayid and Locke.
LOST was the series that captivated me entirely! and the show that made me a series buff to this day! i watched it as it came out when it was first on! i have only ever seen it once and have just started it again, gripping me as much as it did 20 years ago! a truly great piece of work by everyone involved! it started my love for tv series and i love it just as much as i love Breaking Bad (seen 7 times) Sons of Anarchy (seen 4 times) so so so good! love this episode you have put together! keep up the good work chap
Regarding Walt. It was actually the other way around. They knew he was aging too fast and the storyline was: walt gets captured in s1 finale. Michael spends a season looking for him. Walt leaves at s2 finale. The end. But damon got fixated on this idea that walt could manifest polar bears off the comic he was reading. He felt introducing walt as a psychic kid would explain why the others wanted him. He didnt realize it created far more questions and didnt consider that there would be a backlash when walt didnt come back for s3
I’ve genuinely talked to people who were like, yeah I saw the whole series, they were dead the whole time. I mean…I don’t see how someone could watch this whole series and think that? Although from what I read, after the finale,ABC showed clips of the plane crash and empty sets to maybe be nostalgic but maybe that’s what got people thinking they were dead the whole time because those sets were empty? I don’t know. But honestly, Lost is one of the greatest shows ever made hands down.
The writer's strike and the studio are definitely what hurt this show. It went off the rails and they never could quite get it back on track. Those first few seasons were so damn good though! I have never been so hooked on a show like I was to Lost. Binging it is definitely the way to go
@@kuhpunkt It shortened the amount of episodes and I'm not sure why, but that was the season where the writing just started declining. I would suppose the break made them lose focus or they just had to rush to finish the last 6 episodes. Most fans agree that season 4 was where it all fell apart.
@@sleuth2077showrunners had no idea how to lead the story and if you listen to their interviews it just screams "I don't know what Im doing anymore!". Strike has almost nothing to do with the show becoming worse and worse
Honestly, I love LOST and it was only after recently marathoning it that I realise just how well it stands up in comparison to shows that could never dream of doing something like. Wholly unique, wonderfully fleshed out characters reinforced by some of the best acting you could ever asked for and this show excelled at setting up intrigue. The Season 6 debacle was 100% a fault of the fans as it really wasn't hard to understand exactly what was going on and Juliet even alludes to it within the first episode of that season. Personally I think the weakest point of the show was Season 4 mostly because it felt like this series really stalled itself out with the Widmore arc and I think Charles Widmore is a character no-one really cared much about. I didn't mind the time travel because it ended up being pretty well explained in the end.
A truly groundbreaking TV experience. This and "24" introduced me to "binge watching". The finale to me was actually ok. At that point, there was no better conclusion to be expected anyway as the stoylines were too complex.
I don't understand what people didn't like about it. When I found the show and watched it years ago, I was glued to the screen. Every second, there was so much happening in every episode it was like so much for the brain! I thought it was absolutely amazing.
Too many plot points and unresolved lore. They set it up splendidly and I loved the first few seasons but they couldn’t reel it all in. JJ Abrams likes to employ “mystery boxes” but often leaves more questions than answers. It should have been great but for me it will always be a near miss.
Maaaan, I loved this show. Even though it got convoluted as hell the speculation and group watching was so much fun. Plus, the soundtrack was fantastic. I still enjoy it.
My steaming pile of take is that if the show ended on the end of the 5th season, it would have been perfect. Also, that Sayid should have been with Nadia in the endworld.
The 5th,@@kuhpunkt, with Juliets death and the flash to white. To me, that answered enough questions to my satisfaction. And then they just started throwing nonsense at the wall in the final season.
@@deadeyedmillennialmedia But that would leave the fate of everybody up in the air... even the present stuff with Sun. That doesn't just get erased/resolved with the flash to white.
I’ve just recently started watching the show again. So Nostalgic. This wasn’t just a to show this was an experience, an event. We lived LOST. You had to wait every week for an episode. It was sooooo suspenseful 😮 the crash, the island, the others, Jacob, the hatch, the polar bear, time travel, the numbers, the heroin, the smoke monster, all the stations, Ben, the submarine, wildmore… and sooooo much more!!!!!!! 😎✌️💥🎉💥😎😁😀😎🎉✌️💥❤️❤️❤️
I gotta give it another look see. Back when it first ran, I kind of tuned out somewhere in the second season and would just watch it occasionally after that to get a dose of confusion. I think you’re right though that binge watching it now would be a much better experience.
I have to totally disagree with you on the ending. I thought it ended perfectly. The mysterious nature of the flash sideways was great even when we weren’t sure what it was. At the time it left me guessing if it was an alternate reality they were going to transition to. But by revealing it was the after life when they did it really accentuated the final confrontation on the Island. That moment when everything clicked that they were dead always blew my mind.
The hype and marketing worked. Prior to the first episode airing a Microsoft Trainer had the Dharma logo as her desktop background. We were more interested in peoples thoughts on the show than the Powershell training.
@@kuhpunktthat clown won't dare answer, because he has no answer. It's just something that morons have been posting in comment sections for a decade. Don't even worry about it.
The problem with the show was JJ s idiotic "mystery box" idea. They came up with cool mysteries that raised interesting questions, without any idea of the answers to those questions. That's just terrible storytelling. The Star Wars sequels were written the same way; cool mysteries and set-ups, that they NEVER had any answers to as writers. Loved the show though and it's characters while it was running, the non-ending ruined everything for me.
@@kuhpunkt Non-ending meaning that it left so many things unexplained (and illogical). Clearly (and Abrams even said this in a TedTalk) he cared only about the mystery, but had no rational or logical explanations for them. And for me, that's just lousy storytelling. And the cause for many people disliking Lost's ending and also the Star Wars sequels.
@@MWeistra What's actually unexplained (and why would everything have to be explained in the first place?) Why do you bring up Abrams when he had hardly anything to do with the show? And go ask people why they actually dislike the ending... most people will tell you "because they were dead the whole time" or other nonsense like that.
@@kuhpunkt I am not looking for everything being explained. I am however looking for classic set-up's being payed off, for the film/story to have consistent rules of logic and for writers to know the reason behind things that they present as mysteries. And Abrams was the main producer of the show. he referenced Lost and his role in the writing and concept of it in multiple interviews (even mentioned in this video). Watch his Mystery Box TedXTalk and you will see what i mean. Writers who use storyelements to evoke mystery with a viewer (or reader) but do not know (or care) about the backstory and reason for that mystery are in my book bad writers. Hey, but if you loved the show and it's ending... to each his own.
I just finished watching this series for the first time the other day. I loved it! Im having a hard time starting anything else because nothing is like it lol
The show was always about character development, what we go throw how it shapes us and how we can change for the better or worse. The mysterious of the island was just the backdrop. The people who hate on it are people who built up the ending in their head and when it didn't please them they full on hate mode. I find the ending very emotionally satisfying. If the mystery of the island is all you watched for then I'm sorry I can't help you on your journey.
That would absolutely ruin the build up of season 6 if we knew the sideways was purgatory the entire time. It's a novel in a show, and a good novel will have you come back to read it again. Just like Lost, it's much better to watch season 6 again knowing what's going to happen. It's great writing.
@@jamesgardner6707 When it was on TV no one knew what was going on. Now with streaming you can watch it consecutively enough to retain the story. I got my roommate into it recently and he was thankful for the 2 recap episodes in season 5 because there's so much going on at that point.
The one thing I still remember in interviews of the time is both Lindeloff and Cuse swear up and down that there's no time travel involved and the island wasn't purgatory.
I have never gone back and rewatched it. But it was a remarkable show. I remember going online to read about the different theories and lore surrounding the show. I believe Dharma had an actual website and we would question if it was a real thing. It was one of the shows that brought my wife and closer to our friends. We had a Lost finale watch party at their house where we had food themed after the show. Lost was something that we talked about for years. Alias, Lost and Fringe were my favorite shows back in the early 2000's.
Unfortunately that's what you get with the mystery box approach of Abrams and Lindelof. Fun to create mysteries that make people go crazy, not fun to have to answer them. Lost and the movie Prometheus made me realize it's best to be cautious when Lindelof is the writer, Prometheus also introduced big mysteries and then just ended. But these guys are great at the drama stuff.
@@KoolKeithProductions Not many big mysteries, but a lot of little ones. Though can't blame them, harder to make TV shows and plan too far ahead. Still don't like the mystery box concept, though.
It's been over 13 years and I think I've been thinking about doing a rewatch. Yeah-- there were some unsatisfying aspects but it's still one of my favorite shows of all time. As imperfect as it is.
Watched this thru a second time a year ago and it was much better the second time. Knowing how it ends you can watch it without all the anticipation and enjoy it for what it is.
It was a great show. Great story, characters and emotioal moments. I watched it as it aired and it was a great day at work to discuss what happened on the show the night before. I was always a journey viewer. I latched onto characters I liked and followed them along their journey. While getting answers to some things in the show was cool, I knew they couldn't satisfy everyone and honestly I thought the cork in the bottle thing, litterally a cork in a bottle thing was soooo stupid. Locke was a fave, but I didn't like what they did with his story. I did like the intersection of his and Saywer's past. How did the man from Tallahassee get there? Always had the hots for Kate but man, did she cry a lot for a tough chick. I was really saddened and disappointed that Rousseau never had a happy ending and the way she went out made me angry. There have been many shows that try to capture what LOST did but they just can't. There's only one LOST.
There is only one Lost...and it let lost, became so convoluted and tangled, and at the end, it became nothing, a disappointment. One needed to invest so much energy, to remember all those characters, all those relations between them, and I guess all expected some spectacular ending, but near the end, it became so obvious that the series became kinda flat as a pancake, and it got lost...
@@ozymandiasultor9480 I don't know about that. I remembered all the characters and the backstories and how they were tied to each other while watching the show. It wasn't that hard to keep track of. But it was a large cast to manage which is why you kill a bunch of them off and bring in new ones.
Just finished bingeing the show after going into it with low expectations, probably due to very mixed, mostly bad reviews, and i honestly enjoyed it very much. The ending was very satisfying. Gonna binge it again rn 😊

What "let you down" about the finale...
@@JLDReactions You have no clue what you're talking about
Honestly I have watched a lot of great series over the years.
With so many plots and mysteries through 5 seasons the finale was bound to disappoint some people but I stayed with it to the end and glad I did
After years of watching great TV series I have learned its difficult to wrap up a show and do a finale that is satisfying to everyone.
This show was great I was hooked. My week revolved around making sure I watched it. So crazy good.
For me it was just the first 4-5 seasons. After that I felt like they started rewriting "history" and got bored with it...
I've always said the first 3 seasons of Lost were some of the best television I've ever seen. It was so enthralling and kept up the suspence masterfully.
Season 4, with some of 5 and 6, are pretty good too but I always felt they couldn't keep up with seasons 1-3.
yeah but after that it just started to drag and somehow i just wanted each episode to end
Second half of season 5 (Dharma plotline) was maybe the best part of the show

One the main reason why season 4 had a short season is because the production was prematurely stopped in November 2007 due to the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike.

Why do you say this?
And what non-ending?

@@kuhpunkt I am not looking for everything being explained. And Abrams was the main producer of the show. he referenced Lost and his role in the writing and concept of it in multiple interviews (even mentioned in this video). Watch his Mystery Box TedXTalk and you will see what i mean. The one thing I still remember in interviews of the time is both Lindeloff and Cuse swear up and down that there's no time travel involved and the island wasn't purgatory.
It wasn’t purgatory
They never said that there won't be time travel and the island wasn't purgatory - so what is your point?
So no response? You just post this nonsense and then... that's it?
I have never gone back and rewatched it. But it was a remarkable show. I remember going online to read about the different theories and lore surrounding the show. I believe Dharma had an actual website and we would question if it was a real thing. It was one of the shows that brought my wife and closer to our friends. We had a Lost finale watch party at their house where we had food themed after the show. Lost was something that we talked about for years. Alias, Lost and Fringe were my favorite shows back in the early 2000's.
We did an episode on Alias

I recommend rewatching it. Every time I see it, it gets better and better
I still love this show, ending and all. Nothing quite like it out there tv wise
I still LOVE the show-TOO.But,boy did I hate Mr Echo. LOL. Couldn't wait for his demise.
I love your videos on old tv shows can you do one on dawson's creek, blood ties, and forever knight please.
Can’t do any horror shows since we have a dedicated horror channel but I’ll put Dawsons Creek on the list though
Lost - one of the greatest TV shows. Six seasons, comprising a total of 121 episodes
Lost, one of the greatest tv shows, and one big disappointment at the end.
Love this show always. Also loving Yellowjackets right now. It has a similar feel to Lost in a way but still very fresh.
This show was amazing while the mysteries lasted. The more we knew, the worse it got, unfortunately. The first 4 seasons are just incredible.
I would love to read a great fan fiction that ended the show after season 4! :D
@@TerranIVHow stupid
Unfortunately that's what you get with the mystery box approach of Abrams and Lindelof. Fun to create mysteries that make people go crazy, not fun to have to answer them. Lost and the movie Prometheus made me realize it's best to be cautious when Lindelof is the writer, Prometheus also introduced big mysteries and then just ended. But these guys are great at the drama stuff.
@@AbhijeetMishra What "big mysteries" did Lost introduce, and then "just ended"?
@@KoolKeithProductions Not many big mysteries, but a lot of little ones. Though can't blame them, harder to make TV shows and plan too far ahead. Still don't like the mystery box concept, though.
It's been over 13 years and I think I've been thinking about doing a rewatch. Yeah-- there were some unsatisfying aspects but it's still one of my favorite shows of all time. As imperfect as it is.
Watched this thru a second time a year ago and it was much better the second time. Knowing how it ends you can watch it without all the anticipation and enjoy it for what it is.
I watched this show faithfully from highschool to college. I'd make my college class schedule based around the episodes airdate. I never missed it.
The cork in the bottle was a metaphor for an axis mundi, the island wasn’t a literal cork as you suggest in your comment.
Just finished bingeing the show after going into it with low expectations, probably due to very mixed, mostly bad reviews, and i honestly enjoyed it very much. The ending was very satisfying. Gonna binge it again rn 😊
A major problem was dropped side stories and subplots 🤷🤦
Which ones?
@@kuhpunkt lol, where to begin!
@@Aragorn7884 Somewhere. Your choice.
Hated the final season but still one of my all time favorites
Loved the final season as much as the first.
I love this show. It’s easily in my top ten
Out of curiousity what was the other 9 ?
