- Famous Graves. He could SING like no one else!! Personable, kind, friendly gentleman with a twinkle in his eye & humour in his heart. A visit to his grave to pay our respects.

My favourite NHL Team, THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS!!!
Awesome video! Richard was my grandfather. He really was the greatest human. Always stopped to talk to everyone. Always a smile on his face. An incredible man that prioritized family first. I miss him every day. Thank you for posting this tribute video. My family will love this.
It was an honour Nick. My very best wishes to your wonderful family. 🙂

Really appreciate the extent to which you are so respectful.
No doubt you are one of the best commentary personalites arround.
Hi JCVC 🇨🇦 I have no idea who this man is, but I’m sure he was a great guy to have a place on your channel. Thank you!
Have a Wonderful Weekend 🇺🇸
Thank you kindly my peaceful friend. ☮️ ✌️
Just lovely, especially the seat story! And yes, A - C - C - F = Oh Ca na da...
You know your music! 🎶 Thank you Steve. 🇨🇦🥅🎤
Thank you JC for another interesting video 😊
Thank you Debra. 🎤🥅🙂
gosh another great one JCV, always appreciated from your fan in Japan
Thank you kindly Dave. 🇨🇦🇯🇵🥅
Mr. Loney was a French teacher at Sutherland Secondary School until the day he retired. He often gave his Canucks tickets away to students who had received 100% on a Qiuz or on a birthday. Those musical notes on his headstone are in fact, the first 4 notes of O' Canada. Good guess!
Another great topic for a fantastically interesting human
Thank you kindly Dave. 🇨🇦 👍 🇯🇵
All long-time Canucks fans remember Richard Loney very well. He's sorely missed today. The last anthem singer Canucks had was fired because he foolishly joined the anti-mask protests in Vancouver when Covid first happened. He made public statements opposing masks which the Canucks organization did not appreciate. Everyone has a right to their opinion, but that guy decided losing one of the most fantastic jobs any singer could ever have was a price he was willing to pay.
Heard him sing many times i didn't know he had passed
Murph seems like a down to earth guy
Good call 👍
i think Murph is our video host Jean Claude Van Couver. 😉
@@nowvoyagerNE could very well be, but it remains a mystery.
Loved Loney.
But I'm still never sure whether to pronounce Tsawwassen with a T or an S. 😅
And those indeed are the opening notes to Oh Canada - the first being Oh, and the next three being the three syllables of Canada.
You asked the same question once before about notes on someone else's grave but they were not notes to a song the person was associated with. They were just indicative of their music history in general. I'm impressed that for the most part, someone got the notes right for Loney.
I was at the Summit Series game in Vancouver. I was 10 years-old but I can't remember if Loney sang the anthem. I would expect that he did.
Great memory my friend. The other grave was Too Loud Macleod. I read that Mr Loney did sing at the Summit Series. Incredible that you were there! 🥅 🎤 🪦
@@jcvancouver I'm not going to go into detail about my thoughts on the game, other than to say it wasn't Canada's finest hockey moment, but I will say that two of my most vivid memories are of watching the Johnny Esaw interview with Phil Esposito at the end of the ice to my right after the game. That, sadly, is probably recognized as the highlight of that game. I couldn't hear it, but Esposito didn't look happy. Now that interview is legendary, although I have mixed feelings about it.
The other memory is of the Russian jerseys. I was sitting only six rows behind the Russian bench and I saw that the numbers looked like they were cut out by kids younger than me using those old blunt-tipped safety scissors you used to get back in elementary school. I couldn't get over the fact that my kid's hockey jersey was better made than the Russian National Team's.
either Murph is your twin, your clone, or he IS you! 😆
I wish I had his full head of hair. Thank you for watching my friend. 🥅🎤🇨🇦
