Allied Veterans who have been honourably discharged or currently serving. 6. Approval Process: Forward the legible completed Application Form and a copy of your service documents and $10.00 by regular mail to BCVCA, PO Box 4903 Stn Terminal, Vancouver, BC V6B 4A6. Mail is picked up every Sunday. By Thursday applications will be vetted. If approved, the application will receive the BCVCA authorizing stamp and mailed back to applicant. If not approved a discrepancy report will be sent to applicant. The applicant will take the approved application to an ICBC Auto Plan Agent.
    7. Plate Issuance: The Auto Plan Agent will order the actual BC Veteran Licence Plates from ICBC. Veterans licence plates are free of charge.
    8. Free Parking: All municipalities are different. Review BCVCA's website, bcveterans.org for municipalities offering Veteran free parking, or Call the City Halls of municipalities you frequent to determine Veteran free parking options.
    9. Statistics: Approximately 60,000 have been issued. However, when the Veteran ceases to drive the BC Veteran Licence Plate is retired and returned to ICBC or can be retained as a souvenir. Present remaining active BC Veteran Licence Plates, in 2022, is approximately 46,000.10. Reverence: It is an honour and privilege to display a BC Veteran Licence Plate. Public recognition and engagement is immediate and enlightens us to Remember “Service, Sacrifice and Valour.”

Great report. I come from a family with many veterans, including my brother-in-law who was a commander in the Canadian Navy. My sister served with CSIS, and I'm not sure I should even mention that. 😅
For anyone wondering about what Archie said about the government not knowing much about the military, that was the provincial government he was referring to. They wouldn't. In Canada the military is run federally from Ottawa. There's nothing in Canada like there is in the U.S. with the state National Guard.

Also depending on where you are, the public doesn't know much about the military. I go home to see family in BC and people are shocked I am serving with the CAF.
