      Sycothic Azzazzin Maybe he didn't want to be viewed as homosexual for doing an exercise other than weightlifting or MMA or certain sports. Who knows why. It doesn't matter about your sex, race, religion, orientation, etc whether or not you can exercise or be flexible.

      +Ihsan Deeb As a straight guy, myself, I also love these. I used to do martial arts when younger and could do the splits - now I can't get close to these positions but I think +blogilates is an awesome way for anyone to get into shape (and I've only done the exercises in 2 videos so far, but already feeling really good from it)

      Damsel289 I agree. Also, the "Journey to splits" moves may be effective for someone who already has a certain degree of flexibility. Many other people, including me, need a 30 day program just to be able to do the moves 1-5! I was hoping this video would address the issue with a more gradual approach. It's not just a matter of committment: I tried to follow the plan and the only result was that I injured my hamstrings. And yes, I did warm up before.

    The one where we stretch forward while cross-legged is a breeze. I used to take yoga classes in the evenings before I started working and I found I could do that sort of pose without a problem (in fact it decreases stress for me and I sit that way when I have anxiety attacks). However my hamstrings are atrociously unbendy. Before I took yoga I certainly couldn't touch my toes, it took a week of stretching to even be able to do that. When I try to go into the splits I can't even get close not because my groin isn't flexible enough but because I can't even straighten my leg (because my hamstrings etc etc). But I'll keep working at it.

    Cassie thank you so much!!!!!! I have always been super tight in the hamstring area ever since I was little and never could even touch my toes. When I took ballet, it helped a little but not very much and I found myself frustrated at my slow pace with everyone else. With this stretch chart, the first week I burned like fire but right now on the 19th, I have seen major progress and the burn is only a tingle and now I enjoy the poses! Though I'm not even close to the splits yet, I am so grateful for you giving a day by day chart for me to stick with and slowly get more flexible!!!!!

      To help with your splits, try doing over splits on your couch to another couch or something high up. Because the weight of your upper body presses down, and it helps your splits get better.

      +patziok? You do understand that a SCORPION is 70% back flexibility 20% shoulder flexibility 10% leg flexibility and yes i have a scorpion and yes i have all my splits and you obviously are not a good gymnast nor a good person😘

    please make a Video about getting the middle splits

    • @tiryaclearsong421
      @tiryaclearsong421 8 лет назад +1

      That straddle stretch helps. Also lay on your back and stretch your legs out into a straddle while laying on your back so gravity can help pull legs out. Once you get close to the middle splits, start pulling through after your straddle stretch. This is where you grip the floor and pull your body forward from the straddle stretch until your laying on your stomach with your legs together behind you.

    Cassey I love you your videos are great! 1 thing for that japana stretch - I'd let people know to make sure their legs are turned out and up for the whole time they're stretching down so they can get a better stretch - a lot of people don't realise they're rolling in unless it's pointed out to them!

    I've been following Cassey for 4 yrs. (currently March 2017) Unfortunately I've been only doing some half ass stretching. I need to gain my flexibility back so here I am for the past 2 weeks and after every workout I've been diligently following a stretching video. I can see a difference already. I'm going to kill it and do stretching 2 times a day till I'm able to do the splits properly again. Wish me luck!! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀 Thank-you Cassey for these great videos. 😘💞💞💞

    • @muesliliebhaberin2960
      @muesliliebhaberin2960 9 лет назад +1

      +Some_RUclipsr I think that is because for that stretch it isn't important to have flexible legs, it is to open your hips. So if you have naturally really open or wide hips, this won't be a problem for you. For me it is the other way around, my legs are quite flexible so the rest of the moves were nnot as bad, but I really struggled with the first one because my hips are naturally very narrow. It just depends on your body type! Just keep practicing! :)

    • @libera7161
      @libera7161 9 лет назад

      muesliliebhaberin but I have narrow hips too. I'm petite. Skinny, small and narrow. ^^

      +Rachel Laansma Just keep doing the stretches and keep trying, if you do that then eventually you will be able to do the splits.

    • @heaven2touch
      @heaven2touch 8 лет назад

      +Rachel Laansma I know it's frustrating when you're just starting, but, honestly, just keep trying. Last summer I couldn't even sit on my knees properly. Now that I'm focusing on my flexibility though, just last week I let go of my fear and realized that I was able to do the split with Cassey at the end. Do the beginner variations to the best of your ability and you will get better. Just keep trying.

      To be honest, it's not really supposed to be hard for non flexible people. She constantly says " Ow " Towards the middle and end of the video. You need to push yourself to get there even if you feel it

    • @Beanasaurus

      Yes you need to push yourself, but not too hard because then you could tear or pull a muscle.

      I am 15 and naturally inflexible. I wanted to improve my flexibility for dance, but I was discouraged that I wasn't making progress as quickly as other people. I have now been stretching everyday for a few months, and I can almost do the splits! It takes a lot longer for some people, but if you are patient your flexibility will improve! :)
