Man for those of us who were blessed to watch this man play can all agree he was absolutely must watch TV on Sundays. I believe it was coach Buddy Ryan who told Randall to keep doing what he was doing because Buddy was a defensive minded coach and he was smart enough to stay out of Randall's way as long as they were winning. I believe it was Coach Rich Kotite that got Randall hurt because he wanted to make Randall a traditional drop back pocket passer and that just wasn't how Randall operated.
It is difficult to enter the Hall of Fame if the qb has not won a Super Bowl. Being a qb is an added pressure in the NFL because qbs are held to very high standards.
@trevorhembrough1290 well those are two really bad exceptions. Marino and Fouts were basically the gold standard for pocket passing qb's when they were in the league. The numbers they put up alone is what got them in the Hall. Can you think of a qb in the Hall without a ring that didn't have astronomical numbers at the time they left the game???
If Randall Cunningham and Mike Quick played today, they’d both be in the Hall of Fame. Buddy Ryan did the greatest disservice any coach has ever done to an elite player. He was so obsessed with defense, he refused to invest on offense. His coaching to Randall Cunningham was “go out there and make 4 plays and the defense will do the rest”. I’m not making that up. That was Buddy Ball. In 1986 The Eagles allowed 104 sacks. Just under 7 per game. That’s not a typo. The only time Randall ever had good coaching/supporting cast(1998 Minnesota), he was 1st team All-Pro. At age 35. Mike Quick had 5 straight Pro-Bowls. 2x First Team All-Pro. He could have been Justin Jefferson had he played on any other playing surface aside from the concrete at Veterans Stadium. He would be a HOFer. Even most Eagles fans don’t realize how good he was.
I wish he would have played more during the video game era because. He was the show back in the day. I tell my son about him now and MUT doesn’t seem to do him much justice. He had the Bazooka and the escape artist ability for sure!!! He was the real deal especially with the Eagles and then you kinda forgot about him he goes to the Vikings and is still letting it rip!!! One of my favorites of all times!!!
This guy was one of my favorite players as a kid. I always wonder how good the 1991 Eagles would been if he didn't get hurt week 1.. after the season he had in 1990 and how elite the 91 Eagle's defense was....they could've won it all. We'll ever know..but one thing is certain... Cunningham was a monster!!!
Randall “The Man With The Master Plan” Cunningham is what my friends and I used to call him when we watched him play as kids. Only knock on him is he couldn’t win consistently.
Lucky to grow up watching him. Most of the highlights I was thinking “he’s gonna throw it out of the back of the end zone “ 😂 One of the greatest to ever play with a cannon for an arm
I love these videos and this channel. I never had the pleasure to watch Randall Cunningham but I’ve always knew of him. Thanks for these videos. Please keep putting more together of stars if the 80s and 90s.
As a teenager in the late 80s he was literally a superhero to me! He was destroying racial prejudices about black QB ability! He kicked the door down for McNair, Vick, Jackson, Mahomes, Prescott, Murray and more!
Watching this made me think of the old Maddens where you could toggle off passing mode and then use the juke/spin buttons behind the line of scrimmage with a qb, then toggle it back on and throw a pass if you wanted. Damn those were the days lol
My first time watching Randall Cunningham play was in 1998 on Monday night football against the Packers, which happened to be Randy Moss rookie year. As a young black kid from Indianapolis, IN I grew up idolizing Peyton Manning. I had no idea who Randall Cunningham was but after watching him throw for over 440 yards against Greenbay, and also watching him run the ball, as a young athlete who played football I wanted to be just like him playing quarterback. The way he dropped back repeatedly and threw 50 to 60 yard bombs to Randy Moss and Chris Carter was unreal. I truly witnessed a legend play live. He should be in the Hall of fame because he, along with others like Warren Moon, changed the quarterback position for African Americans. Original trend setter.
Oh the what ifs, if only MN didnt choke that year Cunningham would have won a championship, along with all the other great players, with that 98 Vikings team.
I hate that he isnt in the hall of fame. The HOF isnt always about stats, its about can you tell the story of football with mentioning the person, you cant without Randall C. Willis got in and Randall is still waiting, do the right thing NFL AP.
Randall Cunningham's Dual-Threat Milestones: First quarterback in NFL history to complete 20+ touchdown passes and rush for 500+ yards in a single season. Only player in NFL history to accomplish the feat in four consecutive seasons [1987-1990] First QB to pass for 3,000+ yards and rush for 500+ yards in a single season [1988]. Accomplished the feat in three consecutive seasons [1988-1990]. In 1990, became the first and still only player in modern NFL history to finish in top ten in touchdown passes [30: 2nd], passer rating [91.6: 5th], passing yards [3,466: 6th] and rushing yards [942: 9th] in a single season.

Just watching these highlights Cunningham was underrated.I was not born yet when he played but just seeing these highlights not only was he underrated but he was the most graceful quarterback that I have ever seen.Without a doubt he should be in the NFL Hall of Fame.
Randall truly was amazing way back in his times I said it before to me he was the best quarterback in Philadelphia because I remember watching him into 1980s until later on he got cut the last teams he played for was in Minnesota Dallas and Baltimore which I was hoping he would played more for Baltimore but! it was shame that he really did not get the chance to go to a Super Bowl which that would of been so neat to see it happen
He was the complete Quarterback, amazing athlete.
He was ahead of his time. The Ultimate Prototype. He paved the way for Mahomes, Vick, Hurts, etc. He would be prime for today's offenses.
The fact he isnt a Hall of Famer when he should be....
He would’ve been 1st ballot if it was my call
It is difficult to enter the Hall of Fame if the qb has not won a Super Bowl. Being a qb is an added pressure in the NFL because qbs are held to very high standards.
@@kamilebrahimoff3589 Tell that to Fouts and Marino
Thats very true@@kamilebrahimoff3589
@trevorhembrough1290 well those are two really bad exceptions. Marino and Fouts were basically the gold standard for pocket passing qb's when they were in the league. The numbers they put up alone is what got them in the Hall. Can you think of a qb in the Hall without a ring that didn't have astronomical numbers at the time they left the game???
This dude was no joke I loved watching him play and the talent he had just wow
This channel is golden love the higher quality clips of Randall well done 🦅
Watched every game he played in as an eagle and Viking, truly one of the greatest, Randle scramble
Football will Never Be So Exciting, Because of Mr.Cunningham.
Cunningham never slid at the end of any of his runs. He just covered the ball with both hands and barreled through like a fullback. He was a DAWG.
Randall “The Man With The Master Plan” Cunningham is what my friends and I used to call him when we watched him play as kids. Only knock on him is he couldn’t win consistently.
The play against the Giants was just ridiculous. I’ve seen it plenty of times over the years but it just encapsulated Randall as a player.
Lucky to grow up watching him. Most of the highlights I was thinking “he’s gonna throw it out of the back of the end zone “ 😂
One of the greatest to ever play with a cannon for an arm
My favorite QB of all time. A legend 👏
Like Ronald curry if he reached his potential at North Carolina good
The OG, the Standard. Running ability and an absolute gun for an arm
I love these videos and this channel. I never had the pleasure to watch Randall Cunningham but I’ve always knew of him. Thanks for these videos. Please keep putting more together of stars if the 80s and 90s.
This is the best NFL QB highlight video I've ever seen.
Randall Cunningham would average 4000 yards, 30 td passes, 550 rush yards and at least five tds on the ground in todays game
especially since NFL is No Fun League.
Loved growing up watching Randall!!! He was sensational!
Randall Cunningham is one of the greatest pioneers in professional sports history.
That 98 vikings season still hard to believe good to see you in another classic video lmao
Amen Amen Amen a living legend among quarterbacks he did it all very well no other QB comes close ever - Amen Amen 🙏🙏🙏
If You Tube or The Internet existed back in his days in Philadelphia, it would've exploded. The Buffalo play alone would've blown up Twitter.
He was a real threat to my guys the NY Giants back in the day. Respect.
98 season with the Vikings will always be one of the greatest offensive seasons
Ya even Jeff George looked good in 1999 and daunte Culpeper in 2000 all played at a mvp level lmao
He was ahead of his time. He was an athlete & qb.
i love football
Don't sleep on Marlin Briscoe, James Harris, Joe Gilliam, and Doug Williams.
He was awesome in Minnesota in 1998.
Oh the what ifs, if only MN didnt choke that year Cunningham would have won a championship, along with all the other great players, with that 98 Vikings team.
@3N2sw I wish although they would have had to deal with a tough broncos in that superbowl.
1998 still breaks my heart, we were supposed to be in that Super Bowl 💜
Would of been interesting vs Denver
One of the greatest to never get a ring 💍
I’m from Washington DC and never was happy to see a game against him. I rooted so hard for him in Minnesota tho He was fun to watch
I hate that he isnt in the hall of fame. The HOF isnt always about stats, its about can you tell the story of football with mentioning the person, you cant without Randall C. Willis got in and Randall is still waiting, do the right thing NFL AP.
It was really amazing watching him he’s the blueprint to Vick, culpepper, McNabb and any scrambling quaterback
Randall Cunningham Quarterback Of Philadelphia Eagles From 1985 To 1993 Thanks For Uploading
I hated when the Cards had to play Cunningham in the 80's and 90's, but I always loved watching him. Him and Bo are two players I could watch all day.
Randall Cunningham's Dual-Threat Milestones:
First quarterback in NFL history to complete 20+ touchdown passes and rush for 500+ yards in a single season. Only player in NFL history to accomplish the feat in four consecutive seasons [1987-1990]
First QB to pass for 3,000+ yards and rush for 500+ yards in a single season [1988].
A travesty that he’s not in the hall of fame!!
@@ernestwilliamsjr.7181Really?
Total legend. It's nice to see him get some flowers.
Thank you for this 🙏
This guy paved the way for Guys Like Vick And Lamar.....The original scrambler that was a threat to anyone he played and had a cannon of a arm.
Diehard G-Men fan, hate that I love this guy....
I saw him throw the ball 75 yards. Truly amazing.
Mike Quick was that guy as well😤🔥🔥💪🏼💪🏼
This man is the reason I love football. He shaped my childhood. 1st quarterback I saw live that looked like me. Thank you QB12. Made Moss a star too.
Randall started it all ,very underrated, he deserved a ring
Put him in the hall of fame
he's a definitely a hof...
@@ezekwu thank u bro as a cowboys fan he deserves it
Most spectacular player I ever watched.
He threw such a pretty ball.
I love how fluidly he moves.
I love Randall Cunningham. He played on the 98 Vikings, my favorite team of all time. Buuuuut Fran Tarkenton is the OG dual threat QB.
Watched him growing up as a kid, Randall was amazing.
Man, could Randall run, but he could sling that rock too!
This dude was so underrated and why this guy not in the HOF yet
The era of the black qbs has arrived.
He should be in the Hall n my opinion. I wish Minnesota would have ( and should have) win the Superbowl. He would probably be n for sure. Absolutely one of my favorite QBs ever!!!
