Colts fan here...used to do field security for them as a matter of fact. We had the Seahawks in Indy in 2013 and based on the actions of Sherman, I had developed an opinion of him that wasn't all that great. That was before he came up to all of us, shook our hands and thanked us for being there to do what we could to protect the players and such. Then, my opinion completely changed when he asked our boss if they could let in some kids that are in this situation in Indy. Game was sold out, but Jim Irsay opened his suite up to 20 kids at the drop of a hat. Great stuff. Sherman is a hell of a guy. Respect sir.

How athletes behaves in front of the camera is not always how they behave outside of their profession. Sherman is a trash talker, but for all we know it could all just be an act. He seems like a pretty good dude outside of football.

I love this guy. I'm like crying. I think of my kids & their normal preteen insecurities plus being in a two home family, and they still HAVE a mom & dad who love them to pieces. What if they had neither mom or dad to validate them?
And here comes this ALL PRO outspoken football angel speaking up for these Foster kids, & then walking his talk on their behalf, celebrating their individual preciousness not even their own parents showed them. ♡♡ Sherman

This is what the Hawks are all about thanks to R Sherman, the team and talk it up for giving so much for those that need a hand up not a hand out. Ignore the vulgar and childish comments and be proud of your accomplishment.
No matter how much Sherman talks it up on the field he is one of the classiest guys of it. Love having him on the the team.

ANY S. 38th St. in Tacoma is kind of a tough place. From Pacific Ave. to Orchard St., and certainly beyond in both directions. But those 50 blocks are the heart of the city.

Even when everyone else was talking thug I never saw that in sherman and anyone who actually follows him knows the type of guy he really is. Sherman likes to break the ice now and then and there is nothing at all wrong with that.

I moved to Washington 8yrs ago and I was a Proud member of Raider Nation. But seeing the way that Sherman, Wilson, and the other Seahawks are, on and off the field, makes it hard to not support them. I can see why Seattle loves Sherman and the Seahawks. They really are a great organization! Go Hawks!

Richard Sherman is an awesome guy, and as an Eagle fan I compare him to someone like DeSean Jackson, yeah he showboats and talks trash, but that's his mentality as a player. Good on you Sherman, and remember, you're the best corner in the game.

lol that guy didn't "FREAK OUT!" like they thought he would. He was pretty damn chill about it. Didn't even really seem like he wanted to go to college or was a fan of the seahawks. I'm not even a seahawks fan but if that shit happened to me i would be stoked! I would have at least said the cliche "oh my god" or something.
this reminds me of JIm Kelly (Buffalo Bills QB) and what a real guy he is. he did a lot and stayed loyal to the Buffalo community to this day.

richard sherman is such a thug blah blah blah, people who have never played the game don't know the emotions that take control of your bodies at times. As a father of a 3 year old son, i'd have no problem with sherman being someone he looks up to. The guy kills it in charity work, is a stanford grad and puts his heart and soul into being the leagues best corner at the moment.

This is the real Richard Sherman.
Teachers, social workers, residential counselors, family support workers and home visitors.... these are the people who truly care about families, kids, and people and do the real dirty work. I do commend athletes who reach out and everything but they sure do have the financial means to do it and they eat up the publicity. Let's not forget the people on the front lines who don't get either.

Hi Ralph, appreciate your suggestions on attire. The event was cocktail attire & this was the norm. Each person looks different in clothing depending on their body types. In no way were these dresses any different than what everyone else was wearing. I'm not sure I'd consider 20's & 30's old cougars yet thanks for the good laugh, always can use those. Hopefully you'll be able to get over the trendy attire & see the "real" picture here which is helping out others in need. Thanks for watching :)

People who've criticized Sherman don't 'get' how smart he is - All of his trash talk on and off the field is designed to get inside the opposing player's heads- distracting them from concentrating on the plays.
He is not a brute or a thug. He is a master tactician.
His consistently kind, committed support for youth programs speaks volumes about his character. His family are inspiring people.
The guy has plenty of money to go on vacations during the holidays, instead, he and his family opt to visit people in our community who are struggling to deliver surprise Christmas gifts. The Sherman Family Foundation has done a lot of good for our communities.
Just because the media exploited him during an emotional moment after the win against SF stupid people jumped on that band wagon with absolutely no idea who he really is.
