Dear Rodney, thank you so much!!! My blind has been dead for 7 years, and I just used your tip to bring it back to life. Replace the resistor and that's all. You saved me $$$ and made me a hero in my family. Cannot thank you enough!
Thanks Rodney. That "Thing" is likely a 1 amp fuse made by Buss. My problem was on the circuit board that wire connects to. There is a surface mount fuse on that board that was blown. Was able to jump it with a tiny fuse and a pair of wires. You at least lead me down the right troubleshooting road. Thanks.
Rodney, you are a funny guy. Intelligent. Run for Senate or House, we need problem solvers with honesty and humor. Hmmmmm, Senator Rodney….. sounds good!
Rodney thanks for the tip it works for some of my blinds, I have 11, lol. One will power the blind up but will not work to power the blind down, any ideas, thanks in advance
Thanks, Rodney. Good info. Unfortunately, that fix doesn't solve my problem because my HD PowerRise Platinum 1.0 shades are 12 v powered from a power supply - no battery tube, connections or bad "resistor". Going up or down, the motor runs in spurts of about 4", not continually. It will still fully raise and lower the shade, just with many pushes of the remote. (Maybe a limit switch problem, but I've tried to clear all limits.) Of course, in 2010 HD went to Platinum 2.0 and changed the motor. I bought my shades about 3 months before this change. I'm guessing I need a new motor, which I can't find anywhere. I saw a motor in your video. Do you know if it will work on the 2010 and earlier 1.0 shades? Where can I buy the motor? Thanks for your help!
Hi Rodney thanks for tips but still having problems could you possibly help me if i call you to pick your brain. I got new motor not sure what else. thanks Dave
