- Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a live event in Sydney, Australia. This event was part of a lecture series called The Brain Body Contract. My favorite part of the evening was the question and answer period, where I had the opportunity to answer questions from the attendees of each event. Included here is the Q&A from our event at the Sydney Opera House.

Even if i never get to sit in an audience like this and interact with you, it is still such an honour to be able to follow you along this journey. You have really awakened my love for science!
That Goggins comment about “running to the airport!” Amazing 😂
I'm guessing he didn't have a lot of baggage to take with him. 😄
Dr. Huberman, you are an incredible teacher and storyteller (you make learning fun!) Thank you for your generosity, deep love of science and the tools you share with us. Let me count the ways you have improved my life. 🙏❤
My God he's brilliant🇬🇧
Andrew, Professor Huber.
Thank you, thank you for helping the ordinary folk.
Thank you! This time I'll say Andrew, because you have been more than a friend to us by giving us the data and tools to improve our lives in ways we would have not otherwise found. You have been unselfish and so humble. I was struck by the last question on finding one's passion. This really tied together my gravitating to all things animal, insects, fungus, etc. as a child and the "feelings" during that time to ultimately working with dogs, SO interesting.
Also, thank you for the present series with Dr. Matt Walker on sleep... I've been getting my sleep right since way back when you and Dr Walker (and Costello) educated us on sleep ! Costello being the best representative of course! Thank you again and again!
Dear Mister Huberman, trank you so much for your Service to all of us. Keep on moving since i follow you and healing is taking place,i can‘t tell you how much this means to me. Merci Mille, thank you!!!
Me and my mate Oskar asked you the question about how to find your passion that night, really great answer thanks Andrew. When that question hit the board both our hearts dropped it was amazing seeing you answer something that we had asked especially after only watching you through a screen. Your simplification of complex ideas is inspiring towards my articulation of thoughts and your Protocols and advice have greatly helped me to improve my health and overall peace. Thank you
Agreed
I would very much appreciate you if you could generously share how you manage your time so efficiently to do all this such as reading up on the topics, preparing and releasing podcasts and everything else besides teaching? I truly hope you will respond during one of your podcasts...A big fan of you greeting from Mongolia..
Hello havar
I’d love to hear a podcast about osteopathic medicine, particularly osteopathic manipulative medicine.
hello doctor huberman, great fan, I have learned alot and improved my lifestyle through your extremely valuable podcast, keep up the great work, thank you for the help you have provided on this platform
hope you read this message!
What an amazing storyteller you are!!
Just amazing bro especially "Hey Andrew".😂 Apart from that i got so much beneficial data about crucial things about health and performance
Thank you for your interest in those who have an interest in science and making it so easy to understand. Thank you also for all the protocols you share, they are simple yet life-changing.
Thank you, ThankYou, Thank you for the work you put out there for everybody, free and so incredibly interesting and helpful!!! Love it and I share it with the few people around me who understand english and are the most important people in my life- my fam..only the best is good enough for them 🙂 again and again thank you!!!
Huge respect to Huberman for appreciating the O.G Psychoanalysis.
Thank you for posting this Dr. Huberman! ❤❤❤
Now i feel sad that i missed your Brisbane show. Please come back, I'll make sure not to get sick that time 😅
I'm currently listening to this while doing my fishtank maintenance! I'll add that aquariums provide therapeutic aspects, as well! Especially if it's planted (using live plants) and requires pruning/landscaping.
Hello lea 😊
Hey Doc...errr...hey Prof! Thx for sharing your knowledge in a super cool, down-to-earth way. And you still somehow manage to distill your concepts down to the essence, crystallizing them...sheesh!
I use your shorts to share knowledge w the students i work w. you change lives
Glad you came back to time perception at 10:01
I would love to have been in the audience for this. Please come to Europe ASAP!
Hello zoe
Big fan of you and the content you provide. A few days late I know, but I was hoping you would be able to share the link to the aquarium livestream you mentioned?
Just have to say, you said you read all these comments - I really appreciate your scientific presentations! So much of what I have learned has improved my life there is that one fellow who improved British racing cycling team because he tried to improve everything that they were doing everything in their environment, etc. by one percent
I try to do the same, and your content gives me lots of “one percent” opportunities. thank you
Thank you!
I started about a month ago following Huberman Lab podcast, thus far besides gaining my interest in Science, the Sleep episodes have arem helping in a major way. Thank you Huberman podcast.
Nice to meet you Dr. Huberman, I would like to thank you for the extraordinary study and publication of the video in which, through your knowledge and conception, you describe muscle growth, increased strength and recovery. As my channel is Brazilian, I took the liberty of republishing it with subtitles in Portuguese, I hope I wasn't intrusive or hasty, in my republication, I mention your channel and your biography, it would be an honor to have you as a follower, grateful for your knowledge .
Brilliant answer to the passion question. It would be so amazing to be 17 again with so many exciting adventures ahead. I lost myself at that age. Impulsive behaviour and risk taking of all sorts. Isn’t funny how our maladaptive coping skills will only work for so long before we need to reevaluate things. That’s hard to do in your 50s.
I took a time machine to the past and started listening to all the music I loved in my early teens. I was always listening to something back then. I even found songs that I’d forgotten about. That was pretty moving. It really helped me relive those feelings in a magical way. God knows we all need a little magic in our lives.
His answer was a bit too vague though, I think a more pointed answer is “what feels like play to you but looks like work to others”.
@@trentbosnic It is left to interpretation. I was a professional musician when I was younger and exploring the roots of my passion helped me go back. It’s where I feel free. And it’s hard work but the feeling of accomplishment you get after writing a great song is indescribable. My mother always told me that there was no security in being a musician. So I had that to unpack. Especially since she was a classically trained vocalist. But that’s all just old baggage.
Yep, I think I would've added that what you're passionate about will change over time too, so don't be unwilling to change with it. And let yourself be bored. It will help identify what you're passionate about.
Hello dr. Can you explain about brain fog and how to treat?
Good Morning Sir☺️🙏🏽

Hello olga
JetLag - you said if you expose light AFTER your normal time, ie) 5am for 7am, you will want to sleep later or earlier? You mentioned earlier, but I was confused on your explanation, can you please confirm? 21:48min
Hi Andrew, i have been given a treatment for antipsychotics through monthly injection of paliperidone since the. I have poor sleep, i also always have urge to keep on moving and cannot sit still for 2 seconds. I am eating more as well. My muscles are always stay stiff and shaky most of the time . Should i not take that dose? What others advice do you have?
Hey, Andrew! Does not sleeping within your chronotype have a negative effect on someone if they are still getting good quality sleep?
14:08 just a small suggestion andrew sir
Get a natural planted aquarium
You'll thank me for sure if you see some of them in person or get that thing in your home.
It is linked to the process you talked about grounding and nature episode ❤

Huge ❤ and respect 🙏 from india 🇮🇳 sir
I hope that in your new sleep series you will address the insomnia and nightmares/'bad trips' paranoid abstract dreams/hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations caused by benzo withrawal. I only heard the first podcast (well they are 3 hours each :) ) but going to hear the other ones too of course. Your guest didn't mention the Gaba-a receptors and their link to sleep.
Topic Request: Social Anxiety and People Pleasing.
this man in the encyclopedia of the century
as far as the questions regarding time, I think that the concept of quantifiable time is a Western one and therefore goes by so much more quickly. This is not the case in all cultures. In other cultures, time is cyclical. Does time go by more slowly when viewed cyclically?
04:40 so it's official "we create reality" is true, at least neurobiologically speaking!
Mkes you think of all the things that different social media and news narratives (meaning the positive or negative depiction of 1 fact) do to our society.
Fascinating insights at the Huberman Lab event! The interplay between belief systems and physiological responses underscores the power of mindset in managing stress. Leveraging this understanding can significantly enhance personal and professional well-being. 🧠
300 subs with a checkmark? Scammer
i'd love a podcast on 'scientism'. which is the worship of 'the science™'
as a problem for our whole society.
also , i want to know how gene therapy might influence sleep cycles.
PROFESSOR HUBERMAN PLEASE MAKE A PODCAST ON HYPERHIDROSIS...
Why didn’t I know about this!!!
You make my brain hurt so sweetly.
LOOOOLLL. You put it so rightly dude :)))
Big pimpin Drew. Now I respect your content even more.
What happens when your brain is constantly craving for vision to be perfect since one eye is some how bad as compare to the other eye even with the prescription glasses? How to solve this issue?
Dr we request you to make education lecture on epilepsy
Dr. Prof. Huberman singing at the Opera?
I've got to hear that! :)
Merci de la France ma perception du temps c arrêté émotions profondeur deep match 🎉
RUclips is constantly pushing this guy's channel to me. Every time I leave the autoplay on, they show me one of his videos, but never put him in the recommended list on the right of the screen, where I would happily block him.
His channel is the only one I've seen that is impossible to block.
yayy
Hoping one day you can do a podcast on all things T21 (Down Syndrome).
From birth to adulthood - developmental delay, early intervention, nutrition, sleep, exercise etc.

Somebody you shouldn't eat that much dark chocolate, me I ate the whole thing and now my bed is floating 😅
when are we getting that skin health video?
Take collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid low mw at 200mg, wear sunscreen. Copper peptides, retinol, stay hydrated, do resistance training
Also put on ceramide containing moisturizer
@@TheBroSplit yo Bro! I have also overheard Dr. Greger from Nutritionfacts mentioning, that topical application of vitamin C has some proven benefits for skin health. Did you hear about that / seen effects in real life? Thanks.
@Apollo440 I have heard topical vitamin c is good. I have not tried it though,I think eating citrus fruits maybe be a better way. I'm not sure though!
@@TheBroSplit Dr. Greger said, that topical application was the only method of using vitamin C that was proven beneficial. Which was quite controvelsial, since everybody probably took vit C tablets "for better health" during our lifetime.
The fact that whole fruit / veg is always the best way to go is true, but I wanted to follow the format of your initial suggestions (including substances like collagen, etc.).
Maybe I'll try this topical vit C myself then, to see how/if it works.
When are you talking about osteopetrosis in kids
I find his comments on LSD interesting. I imagine hes a very different person to who he was when he was a teenager. A good way to get over a bad trip is to trip again. At least he's done mushrooms and mandy so he does actually know what he's talking about.
When I looked at the thumbnail, I found your face similar to Kratos, the gow.
It's hard for me to sense things, and when you said that you can sense these things. I feel like everything I do brings no real sense of fulfillment Andrew...
So… is there a specific reason not to get into a cold plunge naked? Asking for a friend😬
When you were telling the story about your (over achieving) friend you said “I still don’t know why he got in there naked but who knows?”
TIA!
I need you
Take me
Anyone asked him about the Juggler Protocol?

24:37 how I understood the method to avoid jetlag: You have to get bright light into your eyes 2 hours before your "temperature minimum" if the destination time is earlier, and you have to get bright light into your eyes 2 hours after your "temperature minimum", if your destination time is later. Doing this once will move your "internal clock" one hour.
So, if your destination is in a time zone, which is 7 hours away, you'd have to start adapting 7 days before.
This should include registering the time, when you wake up naturally in the middle of the night. The time you register is 2 hours after your "temperature minimum".
And this registered time should shift, if you are doing the abovementioned light viewing procedure correctly.
This is how I understood, what Prof. Dr. Huberman is saying.
Thank you!
Dear @@PaulaHeartland, you're welcome! It is important to add, that during the adaptation period, you have to limit light exposure, in accordance with your destination's nighttime schedule (hours between dusk and dawn).
During those hours: limit bright light.
Prof. Dr. Huberman mentioned shaded glasses and wearing a hood/cap (or limiting light from above). I would add - putting "blue light filter" apps on your phone and other media devices, dimming brightness/contrast on all screens, using dim and yellow or red light (bulbs) during those hours.
During daylight hours: expose your eyes to bright light and/or blue light.
😜
*SO IS HE STILL CANCELLED OR WHAT?!?!?* 🤨🧐

Hello, thank you for making available the questions section. Has the content of the lecture ever been made public ? Is there any plans to come to Europe ?
