Accidentally found this video, glad I did! I must say I agree with a lot of things you said. I'm not from the States, I'm from Croatia but I did notice a drastic drop in colors on the streets. The streets are getting more dull and grey with every passing day so some of these photos would be quite difficult to "recreate" today. Still I did get some inspiration for the future.
Glad you found some inspiration in Ernst Haas! Yeah the dulling of the colors is a little sad, but we can still find pockets here and there. It's not about recreating the photos, but just having an idea of a photo and modernize it or doing it in your own way.
Hello. People seem to not like colors like they did in the mid 80's. Things were so pretty. The clothes, hair styles too. It's kind of depressing now. I also grew up in Brooklyn, and found inspiration through colors when I walked around the Village. I also loved taking photos of sail boats, and cruise ships. The city had, and has a lot of subjects to choose from. I don't live there anymore, but know exactly what you mean. Enjoy your day.😊
Yeah I completely agree. Even growing up I see that colors have become more neutral as time goes on. Black is the thing to wear now, not that I'm complaining cause I wear a lot of black too lol. To me it's still about workings with what we have, that's why I like doing night street photography because the signs have bright colors and they stand out so much. There's still plenty of subjects to choose we just have to keep an open mind about it. Enjoy your day as well!
hahah I only have 160 because I only started taking this seriously in October. It took about a month to get 100, and I gained an additional 60 in the past week believe it or not. I'm sure it will grow more as long as I stay consistent and continue to provide good-quality videos. I usually post one education video on Wednesdays and a lifestyle video on Fridays.

Good point about NYC losing its color

Good stuff bud. How is it possible that you only have 160 subs? I liked your vid on Saul Leiter. I discovered him late and he really is quite unique.

His name is Ernst Haas.
Your thumbnail calls him "Hass" which translates from German to "hatred" in English.
Ernst Haas - not Hass ... easy to correct ;-)
Thank you for letting me know! I just corrected it. Much appreciated!!!
