Not only are defenders helping protect people and fighting off Putin's troops, but bothering to purposely rescue animals as well! Very hard to capture Putin. He might be deceased. Propaganda about health at start of war. If he is alive . He is in a underground bunker. Possibly over 500 metres down. Taking vitamin D tablets. This seems like performative giving. We should all resist the urge to share acts of kindness on social media. Instead, find satisfaction in the quiet fulfillment that comes from selfless action.
I understand your reaction and you make a point. The problem with that is there is no "quiet fulfillment" in a war zone, in the rubble of premeditated destruction or in mass murder. It's good to see people doing good things despite the fact that their world is literally blowing up and killing is all around. It's encouraging and positive to show the angels of our nature. Showing these acts of kindness is life affirming in the eye of this beholder. Tanya is recording and preserving history which is in itself is the right thing to do.
At such a terrible time, it's good to see pets-who need homes-getting together with people-who need friends. Animals and people can really help each other, so thank you for showing this, Tanya. I love cats (have had them 30 yrs.), and I enjoyed seeing the kitties.

I noticed that right away. American shelters are just cages with no real care. This place is amazing. I have been watching Ukraine since end of 2014 and have learned a lot and have more to learn. I'm also friends with Tanya who has also shown me much. I'm very fortunate to have a friend in Tanya. I have also met a defender by accident and it was a happy accident. She is very tough, super smart, but is also very kind to me. We met extremely briefly about 4 months ago not thinking anything more and then I heard from her last Thursday and she remembered me, which surprised me. I have also seen interviews with other Ukrainians and I see a cultural pattern. Ukrainians take nothing for granted and have big hearts and care about everybody. They know more about what is happening in the US than you might think. They are very aware. It is wise to learn from them! It is inspirational.
I know Man's Best friends were happy to spend some time with such a caring, sweet and beautiful person. May they all find happy homes with caring owners.

Wow I have a HUGE soft spot for animals that this was such a painful yet lovely treat~ Would love to be able to adopt a few or at least get to take them for walks daily and make sure they get all the love they can get before they get adopted
I'm surprised how happy those dogs are that have been away from the front for awhile. Tails waging and everything. I don't think my small Papillion or I would adjust so quickly. Maybe the dogs just like Tanya. Is Mescha O.K. with this? Tanya you weren't walking that dog,the dog was walking you. But you have one serious coat on, I'll give you that.
When I was in Kharkiv in July 2023, I met a woman who finds animals and takes them in for care. A friend and I met her outside of Kupiansk along the highway and she showed us a tiny kitten that must have been born within a few hours. I just gave her a bunch of cash which was probably only $25 USD. However, I just got back to Milwaukee, WI USA about 6 1/2 hours ago from a one-month tour of Ukraine and I can happily say that I donated more than $6500 USD to civilian volunteer organizations and to military elements. It was a total success. I thank my good friends and those I assisted.
So many wonderful dogs. I have lived with about 100 over life in family. That one in second painting is very close to my dog Touser when i was 4 to 16 years old. We had large area of land and sheds. I would put notice on door . Party tomorrow . Then i take 4 dogs , next day and we have a party. Touser was over protective of me . Fight was his bad side. He escape occaisionally . And go for every dog in street. These dogs there should find homes. Program i think might help. If they export . I would be tempted to take one. But that is a good way to keep them. You make a donation . Then walk dog. Be careful. Some can turn quick. Always make a fist first. Slowly push forward at dog. Then pat . Dog can tell after sniff the fist. Its safe to pat. These dogs are good quality. The home less dogs in shelters where i live are mostly like Bull terriers. Although a breeder recently was closed down and hundreds of labradoodles found homes in Community.

It's cruel to cage animals like that. I don't know why people are so inhumane towards animals. Everyday here I hear dogs moaning and barking. I hate the barking and I'm sure neighbours hate when dogs bark at 2.30AM. 😮😂 Why do people do this unto themselves? Modern humans are strange creatures because they put their dogs in many cases in solitary confinement. Everyday they moan and cry is cages on leashes and other cruel ways that humans treat them. Imagine if I took a girl for a walk on a leash in a park everyday. Yet this is what we do. We force the dogs to be our slaves. It's modern day slavery. We breed first cousin dogs with each other and most dogs are hideously deformed and look bizzare yet we think it's cute. When dog owners show their dogs its a freak show. Thats really what it is. Sausage dogs are bred like that yet despite what we may think they suffer terribly through back pain. Pugs have squashed in faces which is a horrible deformity yet we continue to breed these bizzare mutants. Dogs don't live as long because they're dangerously inbred. Inbreeding in humans is illegal and is seen as bizzare, sick and horrific. Yet in dogs it's seen as normal and even encouraged. Sadly these dogs will eventually be humanly killed. It happens in Australia dogs are systematically executed because there are just too many of them.

It is something I have often thought about , not only humans suffer in war the abandoned pets also suffer
