The inside decor is lovely, like old Europe. The Soviet memorabelia is great, and the pay phone on the wall! The dumplings remind me of raviolli. A very good meal for the price, healthier than Mcdonald's.
Very relaxing and fun Friday video from Moscow and Lisa the Russian. If I lived in Moscow, Soviet Cheburechnaya would for sure be a favorite of mine. I love the Soviet vibe and treasures from the past. I hope you find a cool Soviet glass for your flat. Thank you beautiful Lisa. 🥰😍😇
I tried to make kind of polish sort of Bortsch after a popular polish novel, back in the 70's. But we failed to make it tasting good. Now we have a polish restaurant in Berlin nearby next to the river Spree at the end of the 170 bus line. Perhaps these people will provide me the true polish made meal taste. I will give them a try.
@@digitalduch1111 Well German made, i.e. Ost-Preussen made Knödel, back in the days my grandfather family made on their farm house next to Elbing? Read no f****** bavarian made stuff. Bavarians are originally NO Germans.
Thanks!, wow all that food and Kvas what a deal. Here in AZ, I think you probably can get a slice of pizza and drink for that price at Quik Trip (gas station). Since someone already got your lunch today, bring us to another Russian restaurant in near future !
Οur Dear Lisa, you have right ablolutely about the soviet-russian food. When I was gone in Sofia of Bulgaria for one month at the beginning of '80, I had seen in restaurants the same dishes with food like yours. Your thoughts and opinions are right. Very good video and photographs. Thank You. (Athens - Greece).
Wow Lisa! That looks so yummy, healthy and affordable too! If/when I visit I would very much like to eat there. That 'writing machine' is called a typewriter btw.
In Poland the dishes are given the same way :) First you need to eat soup, later you need to eat a second dish. At the end usually also some pie. And the thing to flush all out was called 'kompot'. But that was usually only on special occasions.
Спасибо. Nice to see traditional Russian foods from CCCP time period. Where I live in Oregon USA there are several thousand Old Believer Russian people and several Russian food restaurants. Some 2025 foods and prices from one restaurant's online menu are Potato Pierogi $11, Pierogi with Sausage $13, Beef or Chicken Pelmeni $15, Beef , Chicken, Potato, Sausage or even Pizza!?! Piroshki $9, Beef or Chicken Blini $12. They even have Beef or Bean Oofda Tacos $15. The food is excellent!
i love this video Lisa …reminds me of of my 1st trip to USSR in 1982 …..i like the old style….it’s nostalgic ….thanks for sharing….until soon ……alex 🇬🇷

Finally. I've watched a ton of Russian YT-ers and also Russian language cooking shows. But this is the first time I've seen one of my favorite dishes from when I was a young US American wandering late 90s, early 2000s Eastern Europe. Salted herring, potato and onion. You are presented with the dish and you can eat it like you want. It is an amazing experience.

Hi Lisa. The restaurant looked nice and the meal for only $4.20 is a bargain. Shows more of the variety available in Moscow. Thanks for the video Lisa, stay well.
it is a good idea that low priced restaurants still do exist. some people have it really rough in life for all sorts of reasons. thanks to such restaurants, people in difficulty can have a good warm meal for a very low price. the meal you tried looks delicious Lisa. great vid!🍞🥣🍽☕👍😊
Once you allow big corporations to take over everything like in the West you can forget about low prices and good quality food.To them it’s all about profit.Russia is doing much better than we are.
This was a wonderful video, Lisa. The meal you had look delicious, especially those Russian dumplings. I particularly enjoy the presentation that leads up to your meal: the details of the Soviet Cafe, it's history, the architecture. You have to appreciate the history behind it and what it represents by the Russian culture. Also, the Russian airship at 13:35 - in English, it's called a blimp. Thank you, Lisa!
That looked like a healthy meal and affordable which maybe why some of the male clients looked a little rough and "street-worn". Thanks for taking us along. Your videos are always a pleasure and not just because you are so pretty.
I love your Russia videos , these places you show us are fantasticbans unique, nowadays every single western country is a copycat of the other, in this sense, Russia is unique too, modern and traditional at the same time.

Those multi band shortwave radios by the windows are soviet VEGA brand. I've got a pair of them from soviet seaman in Istanbul during the seventies. I restored them recently and they are still working.
Simply healthy hearty food which is why Russian women look so good. I eat everyday in Russian canteens when I travel. Easy to find with google maps. Some have been so well decorated in Soviets Style you feel your back in time.❤
Regarding 13:25. an airship is also called a "Dirigible". Airship passengers ride in a hanging basket-like structure called the "Gondola". In Venice, Italy, their canal boats are also called Gondolas.
