I did No Sugar Challenge last month and I’m loving the results. I lost 5 lbs. I told myself after January that I would eat a donut on my cheat day. Up to this day, I haven’t had a donut and I’m still doing a no sugar diet. 🙌
At breakfast : 2 eggs ( mostly without yolk) At lunch : chicken / fish with vegetables and salad At dinner : oats and chicken/ fish And water. Absolutely nothing else
I went on a no sugar, very low carb diet (with no additional exercise) on August 8th. I’m down about 35lbs already. My nails are growing beautifully again and my acne is gone!

A T Good suggestion. And using fruits in water ( like Limes, Lemons, pomegranates, even Grapefruit wedges ) help people drink more water, opposed to sugary drinks; that causes health problems, and a HUGE loss of energy, and mental alertness.
@@23fense Fruit sugar is good, but eat it as part of the first meal of the day and definitely don't eat it late in the day. Fruit followed by execise is a good thing! Do more research though, everyone is different.

Yeah i quit shooting heroin and smoking crack which was not an easy task but daily treatment and a good support network and I'm still clean and sober to this day. Due to getting off drugs i gained quite a bit of weight so getting my diet and exercise back on track has been a task in itself but i have been doing pretty good and my body composition has changed drastically and my weight is getting better.

I’ve cut sugar 100% completely from my life besides apples and watermelons since August 1 2023. Today we are October 2 2023 and I have to say I’ve never been happier. I was 270lb and i slowly started to cut back on greasy foods and breads. I have knee problems so I walk and power walk 30-40 minutes 5 times a week and that’s it I swear that it hasn’t been a long time but I literally look like I’m a completely different person. So just wanted to put it out there to my obese fellas that losing weight doesn’t mean hours at the gym and eating nothing but salads. My secret is I told myself I will not check my weight , it just puts pressure on me. At first it was hard to cut back on the foods I loved now I look at the foods I used to love and I swear I gag because I can’t imagine all that grease and calories in one meal 😅 i told myself I’m doing it to get my life back, to get my health to run after my kids not my kids get me everything while I can’t even get up. I’m 29 and I used to snore and sleep on 2 pillows in a upward position in order to breathe while sleeping with the fan on the floor facing towards my face and I still have trouble breathing. Now I’m happy to say I don’t snore and sleep on one pillow comfortably and don’t need the fan anymore 🤩
3 1/2 months ago I gave up sugar, took control of portion sizes, and started exercising more. In addition to lowering my A1C from moderate diabetic to normal, I dropped almost 70 lbs, I think more clearly, stress levels are much lower, my bedroom performance has improved, I look and feel AWESOME!! Push through the first two to three weeks and it’s easy.
@bill joseph Yeah for the most part. I did add fruit back in after six months as a reward meal and if I am going on a hike. The key to fruits is eat an actual serving size. like 1 apple, orange, etc. Also eat fruit in the morning or earlier in the day or 1/2 hr before heavy exercise. Preferably before lunch time.
I recently started a ketogenic diet and 6 months later I am positive sugar is poison. Giving up sugar and carbohydrates "which break down into sugars" has changed my life completely. Not only am I thinner but I feel amazing.
Can attest to the "easier to resist after a while" thing. I didn't even *quit* sugar. I just stopped buying candy bars and store bought cookies and generic ice creams and whatever, and now when I try a candy bar, it feels like all the sugar is shredding my mouth apart. Tastes *way* too sweet for me now.
Body getting snatched and firm,, and belly vanishing without a trace cause I only eat a small blend of certain fruit in my green smoothie after my workout done in a fasting state. . After 3 pm I have only meat and greens. I LOVE IT I eat nothing after 6 pm. I have lost 85 lbs and putting on muscle

Errold Tumaque it gets a lot easier after the third day( for some people) I’m a month in personally and I’ve lost 25 pounds( lots of it being water weight) and it’s really easy to resist sugar.
I don’t know if I’ve been like really off Sugar but for the past 4 Months I’ve just been eating Watermelon, Salad and drinking tons of Water while at Work. Once I get Home after 10 PM, I do some Miles, fall asleep, wake up, do some more Miles, fall back asleep and wake up after the Sun has risen and go on the Tready a third time before going to work. Pretty good routine allowed me to go from 306 lbs to 234 lbs after these past 4 months.
I just did it for 30 days and made a RUclips Video for it. Although I still miss those little pleasures, it's actually not (that) hard. It's just that there is a gap between what we believe and what we do.
This might be quite late. But I decided that since I had already lost 174 lbs (358 (for well over 12 years) to 184) in 10.5 months, but was plateauing, I knew I had to make a change. That change was a mental first and physical second. I've had a major problem with sugar and it's cravings. On 12/29/19, I cut sugar (that wasn't from fruits and veggies) and now 16 days later, I've lost 12 lbs, from 184 to 172.
I have been eating very low processed sugar for around 5 years. I'm working on eliminating it entirely. It is really difficult, for me. I eliminated excess salt a long time ago. I hope people don't mind if I include a tip. On foods that I used to put sugar on such as oatmeal, berries etc. I sprinkle ground cinnamon or a few drops of fresh juiced ginger root.
Im 6’1 and 130 kg lol, i was really depressed and ate alot of chocolate to help me get over it, result was that i gained 60 kg, im slowly losing weight now
I love how this guy explains it perfectly and in a way for just about anyone to understand. Not just the typical sugar is bad without a good explanation of what it does and what happens when you stop having it. Thanks for making this for people who need help understanding 👍
I remember when I stopped eating candy for a bit over 120 days, it was really difficult at first, but then I kinda just got used to it. When I ate a plain cookie afterwards it tasted discustingly sweet.
Very helpful. I am finishing my first week of reduced sugars. I went from enormous to 10 - 15 g per day. It was not as bad as I had anticipated perhaps because I had short period of times when I was not consuming as much sugar. Anxious to see the longer term effects. My skin definitely is improved.
Doing keto for about 2 months, lost 30 pounds. And yes. After cutting out sugars for that time, its easy to stay away from it, and even introduce it from time to time. I had my 20 pound weightloss celebration with some sugary snacks, didnt do much to my glucose levels, didnt make me crave more. It works. If you are motivated, please try it.
I’m 4 weeks with no added sugars and I’ve only lost 4 lbs. BUT I have dropped 1 dress size. Next week I will begin incorporating walking/jogging. This is my new life!!!
Thanks for the video. I've totally adopted looking at the labels of the added sugars and overall grams of sugar in products. No junk, no cookies, cakes, pies, no sodas of any kind.
I had a major sugar addiction I had to cold turkey it’s been 2 weeks I went through withdrawals and headaches but I got through it I cut out all processed foods even my food taste better I adapted keto I feel wonderful no brain fog or cravings for sweets it’s hard to break the cycle but it can be done the results will be well worth it in the end
I've been directly sugar free for months now. sure sugar is still in some foods but once you strictly avoid crap like cakes, chocolate it becomes easy to forget all about sugar. In fact the thought of ruining my streak completely turns me off the white stuff all together!
Day 20 without sugar and I honestly can’t believe how clearly I am thinking now. It’s as if a great fog has been lifted from my mind. That’s the biggest difference for me. More energy levels as well. Down 15 pounds. No going back now. Or ever.
One suggestion from my experience is that after those first few days of cravings, there is a few days of normalcy and then a second wave. This second wave, around day 9, is psychological, where you try to talk yourself into eating sugar all day long. So stay on guard!
I started showing pre-diabetic symptoms in October of last year and looked at my sugar intake. I was having 2-3 44oz sodas a day!! I was 335 pounds and felt like shit. At 35 yo with young children, I had to do something. I quit cold turkey and by this past June I was down to 230. I have some more to go but the muscle loss was crazy so I’m concentrating on that now.
Back when I was 14 I lost 60 kilos because I fell in love. At that period, I hadn't eaten sweets for 3 years. Always drank my coffee without sugar at all (out of preference). Didn't even really miss them. I only rarely ate a teaspoon of honey because I should and that's all. What I really missed was some of my mom's delicious dishes (I didn't grow up in America, eating junk or precooked or microwave meals is not that much into the culture). Without sweets, I would easily survive. Without spaghetti bolognese, I can't go half a month.
I have reduce 70% of sugar intake for almost a year and lost 15 kg until today. Don't feel fatigue all the time anymore and body feels much healthier. Definitely better skin condition.
1 week without sugar! Day 1 was easy obviously, but after day 2 i was having crazy cravings! Now i am over it let’s hope the cravings doesn’t come back... my skin is already showing good results
The Energy Fact is sooooo trueee, i had no energy before, wanted to sleep all the time, but i stopped eating sugar and Know i can work the whole day and not get tired, and 6 hrs of sleep is now enough for me
That's the main reason I decided to quit sugar as I got tired of being tired all the time! Its only one week of cutting 90% sugar and still dealing with cravings and withdrawals but I determined to keep going 💪
As a person who has a sweet tooth, not eating sugar is difficult. I'm at the end of day 2 and the withdrawals are kicking in. I almost picked up a box of donuts today, but luckily the bakery was closed. I'm trying to hang in there. That said, my body feels better, but those withdrawals.😢
The strangest part is that I somehow feel repulsed by some sugary products now. This is just after a month or so. I still eat everything else. I just quit added sugar. The side effect I noticed was a "flu" I had for 2 days and it disappeared. Also, a strong craving for sugary fruits (mangoes etc). This all happened in the first week and all gone now. But some clear results: visible weight loss, smooth skin and energy. I eat tons of fruit by the way.
i kept trying to start eating healthy for 2 years now, saying this is my last chance to fix myself. But now it actually is my last chance because i eat so much every day. And the longest i would last is a day and a half without sugar. it's crazy how much your body craves it. But now i'm entering day 4, lost all the water weight i had, feeling better about myself and my body. Muscles starting to show slowly. This video is giving me strength to complete the full 30 days without sugar
Keep up the good work! No sugars. I started 6 days ago and have been addicted to sugar since a very young child. Luckily no diabetes but I am overweight. Trying to lose 40 lb. Stopping sugar and starches is a great start
I stopped eating candy, cakes etc about 6 month ago and I feel great. Looks are better and feeling is better. I am affraid that 30 days will not be enough, but after a couple of month you will definitely see the results.
Potato chips. I have cut sugar down to just morning tea, fruits, and a gelato or soda on Saturday without too much trouble. But that salty potato chip jones is not going anywhere.
It’s been a week so far. I’m extremely motivated to lose weight. I got kicked off a ride because I was to fat. I almost killed my self. So I felt bad for a week and ate like a pig. Then I decided I want to lose weight. I want this! So yeah I’ve been so Damn good for a week. It’s the beginning of something good. For reference I’ve always lifted weights and have always been in decent shape. One day my gf died of a heroin overdose and I just began to eat for like the last six years I’d say. Junk. I already feel better. And it’s just the beginning
im sorry to hear all that! i also had a similar rough patch in my life last year and it just made my life go from great to awful, how are you doing now?
@@Lofieloves thank u for checking on me. That’s some real decent human type stuff. I am doing great. I have gone from about 267 to 215 since I began the journey. I’m super proud of my progress and I am very happy. Goal is to get to 180-185. That’s a pretty solid weight for me. I was very muscular before I got fat. And I am getting muscular again. @@yorkshirepuddingnosauce5933 Energy levels are very high, no cravings. I work out 5-6 days a week too. I knew what results I was getting, it was a matter of the consistency at the time.
I recently fell ill with a viral infection and a sore throat that would not clear up, my daily sugar levels (type 2 diabetes) became very high (Above the 20's) during the 2 week period. During the second week I decided to stop eating sugar to reduce my sugar levels during treatment. The viral infection had an influence on my taste and smell which made it easy to let go with the sugar. This is my second week without sugar and a feel a lot better, my brain is fresh, face skin looks great, no more food cravings, bloating have stopped, irritable bowel syndrome is almost gone, I feel relaxed and my sugar levels are down to 7.2. I am not over the infection yet and believe once it has cleared up my sugar levels will decrease even more and the other positive effects will improve as well. As a bonus my weight have also decreased with 5kg's in 14 days. Next step is to start and exercise program with my 9 year old grandson. We reside in a area out of town with lots of mountain bike routes, really looking forward to start those wheels turning.
Torah Noah 18 and under should eat more to have full body development but try to control sugar & fats to extent as they required for development as well. After 18 that’s the time you really need to work on diet, intermittent fasting, sugar and fats cuts. Till then enjoy 😉
While I haven't 100% eliminated sugar/junk food from my diet (I only ever have some on Fridays, and when I do, it's always a serving size or less. I'm very proud of my willpower to keep myself from binging or over eating). I've also started working out (1 month and a half), and that has had many biological changes for me as well. I'm sleeping better and have more energy. I have cut out most if not all processed foods, and I've never liked soda, so I've never had to deal with letting that go because it doesn't do anything for me. And, I've lost over 22 pounds and need to lose 30 more to reach my goal :) (I've lost 36 pounds total actually, but the 22 pounds I've lost recently was from better foods and much more exercise).
I know i can abstain from sugar for the rest of my life, but can only moderate it for about 5 minutes. Been off the drug for over a year now and have lost over 100 lbs of excess fat as a result.
I've cut off sugar and sodium for just 3 days and i already felt much better, sleep earlier and wake up without being tired. I don't get shaky hands when hungry . Lose 6 lbs so far. Also doesn't feel depress anymore and no more bloating.
I remember when I was trying to quit soda, it was hard but now I havent drank it in about 3 years now, I dont know how I did it but massive sugar intake is next.
I lost like 10kg/month after I decided to cut off junk/processed foods and the extra sugar... I still got my sugar source from fruits and rice but since fruits had other good stuff in it & there are fruits with lower sugar contents, it's better than snacking on a chocolate bar or whatever junk food out there. I also drink lots of plain water. Sometimes green tea without sugar and lime/lemon juice (not processed one! Squeeze them yourself) and I eat lots of vegetables and less deep-fried foods. As times went on, I noticed my rice intake was lesser now compared to before, I just feel full faster. Thing is, I never let myself starve, I still eat, I don't do excersice and I still lost like 10kg/month just by cutting off the bad stuff. The craving for unhealthy foods is kinda gone, I even feel guilty if I cheat a bit but honestly it's ok if you just have a taste of what u like and don't overindulge them like you did before. Be mindful of it and you're good I guess.
For me, it's taken several months to get to a point where I don't crave and binge sugar. I'm not at all trying to cut it completely out of my diet, but just cut way back on it. It's taken a whole heck of a lot longer than 30 days for me though. The first few months I'd crave sugary foods, especially cereal and doughnuts. The thought would enter my mind every 2 or so weeks and I'd obsess until I'd cave and over indulge. It took several months for those strong cravings/obsessive thoughts/binges to go away. After several months I'm now at a point where I no longer have those strong cravings. I still eat sugary snacks, but I don't binge and it's no longer a big deal to me. It's like I know the snacks are there, but I don't need them and don't go out of my way to indulge on them. I eat them because I like them once in a while. But I no longer feel the need to go back and get more and more of them. It's just not a big deal anymore. I no longer feel that 'need/craving'
I was on diet for a year.. my weight before was 102 kilos and im only 163 cm then.. until i saw all of your videos and did some exercises.. It's been a year my current weight now is 70 kilos i lost 32 kilos and my height is 175 cm.. i gained a lot in just 1 year.. thanks man
Yes you are right dairy products are disaccharides not monosaccarides, because like you said lactose is a dissacharide which is broken down into glucose and galactose.
Much of the sugar you get is from soft drinks. Sodium, too. If you don't want to give up sugar, you can at least cut out colas and stuff, or cut way back on them, and learn to drink your iced tea unsweet. No comment on artificial sweeteners since most of them make me sick. (See my other comment below)

Yes Tom , mostly protein

I went on a no sugar, very low carb diet (with no additional exercise) on August 8th. I’m down about 35lbs already. My nails are growing beautifully again and my acne is gone!
The mental clarity part is definitely true!! My marks went from 62.1 to 71.8 in the last term of school after I quit eating sugar!
Best thing i ever did was quitting sugar. Super easy to maintain after 10 days or so.

I'm 12 days in with no sugar and I'm still having the withdrawal symptoms. I'm 5'11 and was 190lbs, I'm now at 179. It has been rough, cause I'm that guy that can put away boxes of Swiss rolls, honey buns, oatmeal pie cookies in one sitting.
How's your losing weight now ? Have you dropped more since?
What happened to you by day 30?
How’s it going a year later?

Eat bitter foods to stop sugar cravings.
Grapefruits, lemons, limes
Salad made with radicchio, chicory, arugula, endive.
A T Good suggestion. And using fruits in water ( like Limes, Lemons, pomegranates, even Grapefruit wedges ) help people drink more water, opposed to sugary drinks; that causes health problems, and a HUGE loss of energy, and mental alertness.
Coffee and tea help a lot.
Wait so fruit sugar is OK?
@@23fense Fruit sugar is good, but eat it as part of the first meal of the day and definitely don't eat it late in the day. Fruit followed by execise is a good thing! Do more research though, everyone is different.
I'm in highschool idk what to eat for lunch because I don't want to eat carbs and sugar but the only foods they have is pizza fried chicken Chinese and delis
I went cold turkey with quitting smoking 3 months ago... I think I can handle quitting sugar...
I quit chewing after 15 years of it fairly easily but quitting soda has been significantly more difficult for me.
Finishing up day 8 with no added sugar and going strong! I no longer have intense cravings and already feel so much better. I am looking forward to more benefits as I continue this in the future
Proud of you🤍 I've also started this hopefully I'll get results too

3 1/2 months ago I gave up sugar, took control of portion sizes, and started exercising more. In addition to lowering my A1C from moderate diabetic to normal, I dropped almost 70 lbs, I think more clearly, stress levels are much lower, my bedroom performance has improved, I look and feel AWESOME!!
Push through the first two to three weeks and it’s easy.
Congrats. What was your weight when you started?
What kinds of exercise did you do? I'm just begginning to exercise and im starting to walk daily
@bill joseph
Yeah for the most part.
I am 51 and dropped sugar 9 days ago and I am feeling pretty good! Thanks for the video
Cut out sugar , processed foods, junk foods, and went pescatarian. I feel absolutely great, and I’ve lost close to 25 lbs close to 8 weeks
Awesome
Day 8 of no cigarettes, day 6 of minimalists sugar and sodium, major difference so far. Wish I would’ve done this sooner
Ha. 880 days off smokes after 48 years. I've just eaten a chocolate for breakfast.
I recently started a ketogenic diet and 6 months later I am positive sugar is poison. Giving up sugar and carbohydrates "which break down into sugars" has changed my life completely. Not only am I thinner but I feel amazing.
I’m on day 11 🥳🥳🥳 it’s still a little difficult every now and then I get craving but I’m not stopping 🙌🏾😌
What happened so far ???
How you control craving
Yeah I'm not giving up.
Same for me😂😂😂 Hersheys taste like shit to me now and I used to love them
Body getting snatched and firm,, and belly vanishing without a trace cause I only eat a small blend of certain fruit in my green smoothie after my workout done in a fasting state. . After 3 pm I have only meat and greens. I LOVE IT I eat nothing after 6 pm. I have lost 85 lbs and putting on muscle

Why quit coffee?
I like how you used video clips for part of your visual presentation. Very clever.
6 month without sugar now :) i'm 6'0 and was 90 kg, in 6 month i loss 13 kg
Im 6’1 and 130 kg lol, i was really depressed and ate alot of chocolate to help me get over it, result was that i gained 60 kg, im slowly losing weight now

I love how this guy explains it perfectly and in a way for just about anyone to understand.
Not just the typical sugar is bad without a good explanation of what it does and what happens when you stop having it.
Thanks for making this for people who need help understanding 👍
Can i eat fruit?
I remember when I stopped eating candy for a bit over 120 days, it was really difficult at first, but then I kinda just got used to it.
When I ate a plain cookie afterwards it tasted discustingly sweet.
Be careful of what you put in your body
Yup i got a tonka truck stuck up my bum once :/
Year in a half not eating refined sugar. Best thing I ever did for myself and I feel great.
On day 3 of no suger, had no idea how much loved it, feels like I'm an adict wanting that fix
Good for you .
No sugar no salt for a week, I’m already down 7 lbs. Mind you it probably is water weight but wow! I’m losing a pound almost every 2 days 🤷🏻♂️👊
Or ever.
Did u stay off of sugar? Can u give an update??
17th day without sugar for first time ever in my life, I don't think I would ever go back to sugar, you feel 10 years younger

Same here. Ok about to become a programmer. So I need to focus during my work time. Day 6 so far…
This is so true. I gave up soda and candies and I’ve never felt more healthier and happier than before.
I stopped eating candy, cakes etc about 6 month ago and I feel great. Looks are better and feeling is better. I am affraid that 30 days will not be enough, but after a couple of month you will definitely see the results.
Omad and fasting in general helped with an ensemble of salt and sugar cravings.
Salt? Pretty much everything has salt. I dont think you can avoid it. You can avoid buying salt itself and adding it into things though...
Potato chips. I have cut sugar down to just morning tea, fruits, and a gelato or soda on Saturday without too much trouble. But that salty potato chip jones is not going anywhere.

It's a habit & availability game. If you don't have anything sugary at home, you won't be able to eat any..
hexlgaming ++ self control 😉
Unfortunately that doesn't work for anyone 18 or under who are living with their families
Torah Noah 18 and under should eat more to have full body development but try to control sugar & fats to extent as they required for development as well. After 18 that’s the time you really need to work on diet, intermittent fasting, sugar and fats cuts. Till then enjoy 😉
@@torahnoah5445 It doesn't work for people over 18 who live near a store either.
Cisium Yeah but at least you have some kind of choice, not to buy it. But if my family buys it I can't stop them I have no control.
50 days without sugar and reduced carbs I lost 9kgs in 9 weeks. Results are amazing, please avoid sugar at whatever cost.
I'm trying to quit right now. Some times I cheat and have a diet pop
I no longer feel that 'need/craving'

pretty sure dairy isn't a monosaccharide... Lactose breaks down into glucose and galactose which are the monosaccharides
