- I review, breakdown and explain the Top Boy Season 3 (Season 5) trailer. I discuss Dushane and the different endings that the character could face when the final chapter of the show comes out. I react to the possibility of his death, his arrest and why he may collide with Sully in the finale. I also give my theories and predictions on Barry Keeogan’s inclusion and also how it will impact the other characters.

No one notice Sully was wearing same clothes he was wearing when he killed Jamie during the bit where he and Dushane are squaring up.

So sully must’ve managed to convince dushane that killing Jamie was necessary because dushane looks pissed icl and I assume that scene would happen pretty early on in the season
Dushane’s mess comes from his own ruthless ambition which overwhelms his loyalty. His selfishness. Sully in the original 2 series was a loose cannon but nowadays Sully has a much stronger moral compass and sense of loyalty than Dushane. Sully knows he’s destroyed his own and other lives by being in the game, but he knows that he’s stuck in it forever so he commits to it and to the people he has loyalty to 100%. Dushane has no remorse for anyone that he’s hurt he still only thinks of his own ambitions. He wants the financial gain and the power but he also wants to pretend that he’s a legitimate business man. Dushane is not true to himself or anyone. Sully is. Sully has become the hero of sorts of the show he lives by a code and sticks to it. Dushane will break whatever code and break whatever loyalties he’s supposed to have for his own gain.

@@monke6937 Dushane wanted to use Jamie to take all the risks while Dushane say back pretending to be legitimate and collecting all the money. Sully knew that Jamie could never be trusted. He knew what Jamie did in Spain and that Jamie would always be looking for a way to take them out and become the main man. Especially after Dushane had Jamie kill Kit. If Jamie could turn on his best friend then there’s no reason that one day he wouldn’t turn on Dushane and Sully. Sully knew this and knew that it was better to remove him from the equation so they weren’t looking over their shoulders and that they didn’t have to worry about him turning on them one day. Silly lives by the code of the street and Dushane lives by the code of what makes him money. They kind of flipped the characters around a bit between series 2 and 3 and evolved them. Sully was a loose cannon before and he still is but he’s also got it much more under control and considers what he’s doing more. He’s a tortured soul that’s gone so far in his past that he’s stuck in a game he doesn’t really want to be in but he knows there’s no other way for him so if he’s in it then he’s 100% because it’s life and death. Dushane is also a loose cannon at times because he can be quite disloyal and doesn’t really care who he has to turn on or use to make money. This is why Dushane and Sully keep falling out in every series. They’re the same but they’re also different with different motivations. See life differently and want different things.
Hmm, they sound kinda familiar..like Ghost and Tommy from Power.. almost like an allegory of the game, one will always want out, while one literally, "loves this shit"..
Why would Jamie betray Dushane if he’s the crown prince anyway? I think you missed the REAL point. When you look at the ending sequence of the season 2 finale before Jamies death it’s OBVIOUS that DUSHANE made the RIGHT CHOICE. Everything fell into place for EVERYBODY. Even Sully. Jamie was NOT going to go against Dushane another time after seeing where that almost led (or basically did lead him) with his 2 brothers. He was good he was calm, he had their love again and he matured the moment he realized Steph was bound to start the street life.
SULLY fucked all of that up, because just like in Summerhouse, his pride got in his way.
Im saying Sully gets killed or kills himself (notice how after finishing with Dushane he descended into obscurity so to speak, with Dushane just standing there like a King waiting for smt).

Sully is a bit like Tommy from Power - he knows he’s destroyed lives but also knows that he’s trapped in the drug game forever so he lives by the code. I can see him being sentenced to life at the end of the show. As for Dushane it’s more complicated - he could of course get killed but he could also succumb to his mystery illness ( this might be an inherited heart condition or something)

I rewatched both series and Dushane really got a lot of loose ends and enemies and he always gets away with it I feel like he’s going to think he gets away with it but he’s heart gives out
Ive noticed not one person talking about how the first s3 announcement had 1 frame displaying "topgirl" in the quickly changing text. Jaq will come out ontop
i think suly goes back to jail where his meant to be , dushane is for sure dead / close to it and jaq will be the top girl, probs will de a prequel out of dat who knows
What if Dushane escapes the roads and Sully goes to prison as the Top Boy since he took over and one of the final shots is Dushane visiting Sully in prison like he did Jamie. Except this time he's just a civilian with a family and a past, completely unable to help his best friend escape his current situation. They reflect with his best friend about whether all of this was even worth it then there's a montage of Jaq as Top Girl showing that the game stays the same and only the players change.

Notice when sully's walking in the park in trailer the camera is following him as if someone's behind him, also when Jamie's younger brother is shown it's in the same scene as sully in the park, this maybe sully's end.

Definitely don’t think Sully was jealous of Jamie. Jamie tried to go behind Sully and Dushane’s back and make a deal Juan which backfired because he got exposed in front of Sully. Not to mention that he already tried to have Sully and Dushane killed before he went to prison. Sully knew Jamie couldn’t be trusted, so he did what he felt like he had to do

Sully made the right call. Dushane didn't see that Jamie would come after them once he was in control.
He had a blind spot for him, but Sully saw he hadn't changed and Jamie still would take revenge
Saw a theory that steff may end up killing dushane as collateral damage if that does happen think it would be a nice twist but I think the only ending for either characters is for sully to either survive or die to only the hand of steff and for dushane I think prison or his heart gets him and either steff dies or becomes topboy
I think something similar. in the trailer where Jamie's brother says something like "that brother has to go" We're all assuming he means Sully. I think it's Dushane they are talking about as it's firstly too obvious to put in the trailer and secondly if you're going to blame anyone for everything that happened to Jamie, getting set up and sent to jail etc all comes back to Dushane.

If it’s anything like the real criminal world either dushane gets arrested and blames it all on sully but before sully gets arrested he’s shot and killed by 1 of Jamie’s brothers and dushane dies of heart failure after hearing about sully and hopefully we get a surprise new top boy we didn’t see coming or girl
Probably the end of Summer, Dushane's own problem destroys him by either dying or going to prison. Sully has made too much enemies that his under threat. Jaquiline is probably going to get attacked by Vee and the one eyed man. I don't think Dushane will kill Sully or vice versa, we have seen they care for each other too much throughout the whole series.
Is Dushane an antihero or a villain? Is he a good guy or bad guy?

I think it’s more complicated than good and bad. He does some extremely bad things for sure but he also takes really good care of the people he loves. Donovan, his mum, Shelly and Sully for instance.

I have wanted to see Sully get taken out since he killed Leo. Would love to see Jaq be the Top Girl and get her own series.

I don’t want these characters to die or go jail put hopefully they do it justice in these 6 eps, Dushane will die & hopefully it’s from his heart problems as he seen dris as a weakness from his stroke, Sully will probably die in the hands of Steph or Steph vengeance will lead to sully dying or him killing his daughter to get even for Jamie, no matter what I got high hopes this season & I can’t wait to see what happens 💯🙌🏻

DuShane and Sully are co dependent. Even when they broke up several times they came back together when one of them really needed the other. DuShane walks away from the game and Sully dies.

I agree some times it is best to end things on a high note not drag it out forever like “Power”: I mean when you mention top boy to people you don’t want to get the reaction like “ Top Boy? Does that still come on?”, you want the reaction “I miss Top Boy that was a really great show”. Less is more..well at least some times!
I dont see Sully as less logical, hes just not a business mind. He seems to read ppl better than Dushane. He had good reason to think what he did of Jaime.

I think Sully is either going to be killed by Dushane or sent to prison for life. Dushane will die of a heart attack and the successor to the two will be Jax.

This shows a lack of understanding of Sullys character. He would never do that under any circumstances
I feel like Dushane deserves a happy ending man he was a street dude with a good heart, he saw the error in his ways and started making effort to change that unlike sully who embraced his flaws and stayed in the streets
