10/10 insta sub. I don't even play piano I play guitar and consume tons of RUclips music theory content and this is so theoretically clear and powerful information. May the algorithm bless you!!!
This is another eye opening video. Thanks for showing your thought process on how you did the chord substitutions. Absolutely fantastic. Thanks again Emanuel. Bless you, your knowledge, and teaching skills
Iv been searching for an explanation on 251 today around 3am i gut it ...thank u ma bradah ...well explained...whats left is for me to practice them hard ...
Sorry if this is obvious. So you’re starting on the 1 (C major), then going to the 2 - 5 of the next chord, then 2 - 5 of the next chord and so on until the song ends?
that's basically it i think, it's the voicing and the extension notes that gives it a unique sound but at root of it, that's all it is. That's why they say ii - V - I is very important for jazz (I think)
Awesome video! It’s great to have a thorough breakdown without going way too slow. Keep doing the “this is what I’m thinking…” breakdowns! Can you do a video in the same style for longer progressions ? Ex. 7 3 6 2 5 1
Good evening, Sir. Please I like the way you play the chords with such ease and phenes. I want to learn from beginning please which video should I start with. Thanks
Love the way your are playing👊👊👊Can you please make a video of 2 5 1 in die key of F# with how to voice your chords with every scale note ?I will pay for this😉My problem is also creating the right voicings with the 2 5 1🤭
Hey, question please. I thought the minor 2 5 1 is suppose to be 2dim - 5min7 and 1 minor but it looks like your just playing a dominant chord for the 5. Does either work or why do you favor the dominant chord in the minor 251
It all depends on the melody of the song which determines how you voice the chord. Most of the time when I practice, I try different voicings to get an ear for how they sound within the context of a song.
Hi mr Blanco...I love your tutorials and I really appreciate your efforts. May God richly bless you. Can you please make an intermediate to advanced tutorial of Together we stand by winans brothers and More than I by Commissioned. GOD BLESS🙂🙏
I’m a little bit confused can you explain to me from which chord what I take the two and five because I was observing that instead of using Dm, you used Gmin I don’t get the part that much can you explain me the theory behind it
@@_fisheater1027 I would use the 2-5 the typical way, going to the (6/4/2/1) however Emmanuel used it in a continuous manner, if you asked me I'd say he wasn't necessarily thinking of his destination for example when he did that 5-1 leading to the 4 he instead went to the #4 (F#min7b5)... Certainly helped me a lot.

Do you have any online courses?
Is there a rule we can apply when to use a minor or major 2-5-1? Does it depend on what your destination chord needs to be, or just trial and error?
ALWAYS think Destination... If you look carefully you will realise that there are 5 notes between our tension chord and the destination chord.
This is Good
Amazing!! If you watch Korea movies you will notice that this is what they play in most of their background songs.
I’ll have to take a listen!

How do you know when and where to use a specific chord? For instance, using a 7b9 instead of a 7b9#5 chord. Thank you

Can you do a tutorial on “Freedom Looks good on you” Mav city and Isreal
I really want to see you play in an actual music session. No tutorials just playing, Are there any of those on your channel?
Can you please do Eben "at the center of it all"

I basically just switched the progression while maintaining the melody. Technically, you can still find that there is a Dm within that Gm9.
Teacher, may you do the song " When I remember " by Ntokozo Mbambo please? Thank u 🤍🤍
Could you please do a tutorial on “ I want Jesus to walk with me”
Love these tutorials! Could you please do a tutorial for Worth Fighting For by Brian Courtney Wilson one mic one take?

I don’t understand it well anyone to help me get it well
For someone who already uses the 2-5 progression I never looked at it from this perspective.
Curious as to how you approach it/ your thought process behind doing 2-5s
