    I use an Oral B toothbrush on my 991.2 alcantara wheel (Sonax is a must) - much easier to get into the hard to reach areas. 9/10 obsessed people recommended.

    I have a alcantara steering wheel in my M2, roughly one year now. I brush it every two to three weeks with a small clothbrush. Approx twice the size of a toothbrush. So i can reach the tight spaces. Every couple of months i use alcantara cleaner. It still looks brand new. I regularly use the vacuumcleaner with the little brush on the wheel too.
    Always a ton of dust coming out...

    • @nicedronevideos3035
      @nicedronevideos3035 3 года назад +2

      Does it also contains white points as kind of dust? I want to go from a leather steering wheel to alcantara. But I am very doubtful about the alcantara 😁😬...

    • @Jb001jb
      @Jb001jb 3 года назад +1

      @@nicedronevideos3035, i think describing dead skinflakes as dust might be true actually. Anyways, if you are not prepared to regularly clean the alcantara, getting one might not be a good idea...i don’t mind it. Just a quick brush does most part of the job

    Damn he messed up your steering wheel for sure! I mean, some ground rules apply when working with dinamica (yes, its NOT alcantara). First and foremost. EVEN with a badly smudged wheel like yours, its reparable, it just takes time and patience. ALWAYS and ONLY use a warm damp microfiber towel and a suede brush to clean the wheel. NEVER use a steamcleaner since the boiling water simply wil destroy the fibers and colour of the fibers, hence the staining:) FOR SURE never sandpaper your alcantara/dinamica interior lol, just use the suede (rubber) brush to pull out the dirt/flakes/dust/skin etc. Also try to use less chemicals, maybe just a fabric cleaner in a bucket of warm water to loossen the dirt/grime.

  • @withmatt1062
    @withmatt1062 Год назад +1

    If you cleaned it properly the first time you wouldn’t have to sand and damage the wheel. There was clearly a lot of dirt left over that you didn’t extract causing the fibers to stick together. Just use the Sonax with far less steam and more use of a drying cloth and it’ll come out looking great.

    If you look up angelus paint they a paint that matches the blue perfectly and you can tape it off and re paint with a small square brush. Their paint is designed for sneakers but it’s essentially a leather paint. I believe they even sell some sort of topper or clear to stop that from happening a again.

      It Depends on the plastic and the leather, if the leather has no clear coat on it, and use a medium hard brush it will scratch it. If the leather has a clear coat, a medium brush or even magic eraser will be needed with low friction and pressure and checking after each pass
