      Dan C.
I have the same issue about the sides of my long goatee sticking out. My beard hair is thick like yours. I do straighten it with a heated comb. This must be one of those awkward periods that all men or in some cases women have.

If I was to get 1 soap, 1 oil and 1 balm would you recommend the premium oil, slick soap, and heavy duty butter?

So I recently just tried the beard & body original bar soap. I’ll wash the hair on my head and my beard. It lathers very well and cleans nicely. Once I rinse my hair and beard feels so dry like I just used a cheap bar of soap on my body. Is that healthy and did you get the same experience? I’m not sure if that’s okay. Or should I use a better beard wash. Or maybe just get a great quality beard condition to use right after. I like the idea of all natural products so I don’t have to over think what I’m using. I love there beard oils and balms.

I bought some premium oil a few weeks before this video. I love the feel of it, and yes, there is a pencil shaving vibe to it, but it becomes very low key. My struggle with superior smelling oils, is that by the end of the day, a good number turn funky. This premium oil does not

Honest Amish was my entry in to beard products. I wasnt going to keep a beard, i was just growing a beard for a month or so to show solidarity with other guys who were allowed to grow a beard at work for the first time ever. After using honest amish, i realized i could stay bearded and love it if i had quality products for it.

In 2019 when I decided to grow my first beard I searched RUclips for how to grow a beard so I wouldn't give up and shave do to itchiness and dandruff. Your video on Honest Amish was one of the first videos I saw. I ordered the classic oil the original balm and original soap. I still buy the classic oil at Walmart and use it in my rotation of oils. I will have to try some of their other soaps and give their balms another try.

Honest Amish was the first beard product I tried and the original is still one of my favorite scents. The premium just did not do it for me, pencil shavings is right on the mark. Approximately 4 years ago I had a yeard going. I had no idea about beard care. I chose their balm off prime, thinking 'balms' added volume. I can't stand the anise root. The culprit for black licorice. To be honest I didn't know anything about what 'good' ingredients were. I did grow up in a family all from PA Dutch country. I do know plenty of Amish and they never cut corners. Plus the image made me smile.

Might sound weird, but I bought their balm and found that putting the excess on your skin is way better than even a lotion. I had dry elbows and lotion would help for a couple hours, but that stuff eliminated it for days. So when you use it wipe the excess on your body instead of just washing it off your hands.

This was the first quality beard oil that I ever used and I did get mine at Walmart. This was right before I started watching your channel. I’ve used their soap before and I’ve used their beard wax for my mustache. I love their soap and had no idea they had a balm that is more like the butter that we are all used to. I don’t know about anybody else, but I really have gotten away from this company simply because of all the other ones out and about that I really felt was better quality. I only say this because often times quality is not something I have found at Walmart. That being said, I would recommend this to anyone. And I will be ordering some bar soaps very soon along with some premium beard oil and Balm. So glad you made this video Dan!

I just started my beard journey for the first time in 33 years and I attribute that to watching a video of yours on how to take care of your beard. I've always wanted a beard but would always give up after a month or so because my beard grew so patchy and light. I can't remember the name of the first beard oil I purchased but it contained "Grotein". I saw a video you made about that as well. I didn't know any better and thought the "grotein" would help "grow" my beard....How naive I was. After watching one of your top 10 beard oil videos, amongst others, I tried Honest Amish and immediately I felt the difference in quality. I can't speak on scents as I have not tried that many yet, but you can definitely feel the natural oil based nutrients in their products. I ordered 2 classic beard oils, classic beard and body soap, and their classic beard balm. I am please to say that I honestly love it! Thank you, Dan. Thank you for all your wisdom and fantastic content you provide to men who want to have a healthy and great looking beard!

In my opinion, I think it should only be labeled a beard balm if the first 3 ingredients contain wax. Anything less than that, it’s a beard butter too me. Honest Amish will always be in my beard arsenal. I always recommend them to anyone interested in beard products. I swear they have changed the ingredients up a little from the last oil and balm that I had. Feels less oily or greasy now too me.

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  2 года назад +4

The "first 3" method is tough, because you could have the first ingredient make up 97% of the bottle and the rest could be even, and it is still labeled by potency. I think a percent is a must! I know exactly what you mean though. Super interesting on the change! I have not had a new one of the original in a while, but the premium is on point for me!

Honest Amish has served me well. When I started my beard journey your original Honest Amish review led me to its licorice tones. He doesn't say their name correctly on purpose, in case a student happens upon his videos, and they don't make him say their name correctly as part of the agreement to work with them. I am a fan of honest Amish. I like scented oils so I do not wear it a great deal. But premium oil, bayou blend balm, extra grit soap, IMO, work well! I agree that the oil has a pencil shaving scent. Also, being in Kentucky, it reminds me of driving by a tobacco field in the summer.

I'm new to the beard journey, and Honest Amish has been my first oil, thanks to your review of it. I've also got their balm, and I love the way both of them make my beard feel. I don't have a lot of experience with other brands yet (except for a bad beard feel experience with EMJ butter, and have some samples of BABC on the way), so I don't have much to compare to. I actually enjoy their scents and would recommend their products to anyone. Their premium oil is definitely on my long list of oils to try, and now I'm have to add their soaps as well. I've got a feeling that this will be one of the mainstays in my rotation of products, as I continue to grow them and my beard on this journey.

My first experience with beard care, was Honest Amish.the price point, size and availability did it for me.
I haven't tried their soaps or balms yet.but I believe I'll be looking into the soap.I'm almost out of whiskey and hard tack soap.
I use the original oil every day for work, and my Whiskey and Hard Tack on the weekend when we go out.

I’ve tried all there body and beard soaps. I like the extra grit best.
I currently use their original oil and bayou blend balm...
I also use their eucalyptus lip balm and their hand salve.
I have to say honest Amish has the best products hands-down.
I’ve tried other companies looking for different scents and what not, but find them to be too much like a perfume or cologne.
I like the “natural realm” smells...
I will stick to honest Amish and recommend them to anyone who asks.

Soaps have been my go to for three years now, they save me money since I don't want to use shampoos or conditioners, they also have the added bonus of being organic and that gives (for me) a vote of confidence. I always use the Peppermint and Chickweed and the Fishermen's. Totally recommended guys, i agree with Dan, it's for all tiers of beardsmen ;)

Honest Amish was also my first oil and soap, based on a recommendation from my barber. The Slick soap is my current beard wash. I have only their Classic oil, which is in my rotation. My experience is like DanC's - the scent is pleasant but not outstanding, and fades quickly. It is in my rotation, often if I'm wanting to minimize beard scent for whatever reason. I'd also recommend them as a great starting point. I found them on Amazon.

Another great video Dan. I use the slick soap daily on my body and once a week or so on my beard couldn't live without it. Haven't used the oil or balm which is definitely a butter since I started out but that's primarily a scent thing the feel in beard is great. Another thing worth mentioning is that it is very budget friendly. Oddly I just looked at it at Walmart the other day and it's still like 12 bucks for 2 oz. Definitely a 1 dollar sign rating lol. The soap.runs about 8 bucks and lasts forever.

I'd recommend them to all of the above especially on a budget. I've only used the classic oil though from Walmart but I have to say that the black licorice scent was at first a turn off for me as I hate the candy. But the scent grew on me over time and now I love it. Smells manly to me!

HA was my first experience with beard products also, all of which I bought on Amazon. I have only tried the balms- the original, heavy duty and also their extra grit. Only one I didn’t care for was the extra grit. I actually like all their scents (which are light) but the extra grit product is black in color and putting it in my cinnamon and sugar beard was hard for me as I was worried it would “tint” my lighter colored beard or make it look dirty.
I need to try out their oils and bar soaps after hearing your reviews. Thanks for another very helpful video 👍🏻

I've come full circle back to HA Pure. I enjoy wearing nicer niche and designer colognes for a signature scent through each season, keeping all beard products unscented. I do wear DGC Belle Isle butter at night. Even my body wash is mild, Every Man Jack Sandalwood. Scent confusion is real, and the one dimensional scents in beard products don't compare to a morphing niche fragrance.
