Any electrical circuit that was under water would have shorted the breaker anyways, very unlikely your getting power straight from the mains and not going through breakers or at least fuses in some of these ancient places.
In some ways this is what it was like for me going through my parents house after my dad died. My mom died in 2012. Dad was lonely and declined. Passed dec 31 2021. All his tools and treasures and my mom's as well all packed away. Family photos. The fun times. Weddings. Trips. My art as a child. Breaks your heart.
Sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, this is life. We have to do the best we can given the time and various circumstances that are put in our path. I also had to experience similar settings. Dead and decayed corpse stains on the couch. Had to empty a home wearing a respirator. It was worse than what they show in this video, (generally speaking). Being that it was immediate family made the experience surreal. It was such a very sad and cold place from something which was so warm and inviting in the past, a place with lots of people, food, and fun. And despite all those people in the home, years gone by, the only one who would empty it that many years later was me. It's just a reminder that we aren't here forever, and that the manner in which we deal with the loss, something representative of that past childhood experiences permitting us to grow into, hopefully, mature individuals. We are just renting the world for awhile. No one's alone. Sometimes it just seems that way.
I guess it all depends on how you look at it. At an early age I came to realize that we all die and what is coming in terms of my family members dying. I always tried to treat people well while they were alive. So when death came I just did what I knew had to be done and I focused on that. In my life I have seen people treat others like crap while they were alive then they acted all broke up when the person died. I never understood that.
This makes me really sad. Everything in their lives just rotting away. The most was so bad that I was holding my breath. I about lost my mind as you were going in the water in the mold basement..You got a lot of guts , and opening the fridge and freezer??? I'm speechless!!
Clearly, this was a well loved home up until the end. Power was still on, because the couple had a retirement income which the utilities were on auto-pay, and the funding source never knew of their deaths, more than likely. There clearly was a medical emergency involving the last occupant, likely resulting the stove being left on, and last meal's dishes unwashed. Aside from the mold, it was a bit comforting to see there was no evidence of mental distress. There was a loving atmosphere in that home. Very sad that no family or close friends were around to close out the house. A real shame about the flooding. Thanks for sharing this.
Due to the remaining pictures of the husband, I’m led to believe the husband passed first. She may still be living in assisted care somewhere. Her clothing cleared out quickly from the dressers.
What a beautiful property!! I can't imagine that a family member wouldn't want it. Lives lived. So sad to be left empty after being a shelter from the storm for a family.
Someone in the family or a friend owns it now otherwise it would have been surrendered to the state and auctioned off, boarded up with notices, or torn down for redevelopment.
one of my abandoned house exploration rules is: don't open the fridge. it's not worth having that smell burned into your nose. there's hardly ever anything interesting in them.
Regarding electricity, electricity bill could be auto deduction from bank account. About 13 years ago a women was found deceased in her suburban Detroit home over 18 months after she actually died. She had enough money for autopay on mortgage to keep everyone happy and away, until she didn't. The only other scenario I can see is a distant relative is paying bill and not realizing sump quit house quickly goes to the mold. Extra residences require a lot of baby sitting.
It just goes to show how you work so hard for everything & you can’t take it with you when you are no longer alive 😢.So very sad there wasn’t any family to pass down to 😢
It's sad to see that no one cared. The government is going to get the the property and what's left of the house anyway 1 day. I work in apartments and see this all the time. Family members don't want anyting but the valuables and we are stuck throwing people's memories away. I still have a cat and the residents family pictures. Didn't have the heart to put the cat in the pound and pictures in the trash. Thank you for sharing their story.
It's nit always the government that gets it. Sometimes a farmer in the area buys these places and just farms the land. They leave the house intact because the land around it isn't tillable and it's too much exppense to tear it down.

Absolutely heartbreaking to see that that was once a warm and welcoming home with good people living there. Sad to see it just rotting there, very heartbreaking.
It is always heartbreaking to me to see a home left to just fall to mold and decay. There are so many of them. I always assume something terrible must have happened to the people who lived there to leave what must have been a very pretty home at one time with a history that now no one will ever know about. Just sad all around.

I wouldn't mind buying a house like that. It wouldn't take too much effort to get it back to a decent state. The mold problem isn't too bad. Then after that you just put the floor back in, and put the trim in, and it is about done. The basement would need more work, but it is about the same story there. But I would replace all those electric outlets, and replace all the drywall down there too.
Where the hell is the family of these people !? Fairly late model truck, nice piece of property. Surely the family who conducted the funeral must want this, or to sell it ?
@SavageX420 yeah all possibilities yeah a zf6 oh my yes I would love that! I wanted a stick shift cateye bad enough I built 1 doesn't have a 6.0l or a duramax init tho swapped a 12valve cummins nv4500 263xhd push button 4x still works y did i keep that y not lol and I absolutely love it
i think if it was a duramax it would most likely have the duramax badging on the left hand side of the truck above the model badging. most likely a 6.0 gasser but you dont ever see 4x4 single cab 2500hds of any engine spec in that good of condition up in the northern states, damn cool and clean looking truck with probably not many miles at all
So by the look of that Silverado for the time it has been left there the truck wouldn't be that clean, my guess is the family has been using the truck and the sucky part is probably due to the extreme temperature the pipes froze and cracked causing the basement to flood which could cause the family to have to main water turned off But allow the electric to stay on, stay safe and always take precautions. But yeah that Silverado is in way to good of shape to have just been abandoned and would explain why some windows have been left open and when you brought up squaters, i don't think anyone was squatting in there especially without the correct gear. The family probably is aware of the house and it will most likely be cleaned up and demolished after everything of value has been removed. Cool content btw, you earned my sub
Probably could used a scuba tank in there for air safety as well. That is beyond salvageable. Shame was a sweet property. It’s got to be dozed now. That black mold is literally inside the walls.
I don’t know why states don’t make more effort to declare homes abandoned , work to recycle what can be used or dump it all. If house can’t be sold, then raze it and clear the property. Maybe put it up for people to purchase the land. I’m sure there are lots of younger generations who would enjoy going thru these houses to clear the house and help take them down.
If the power is on then someone been paying it for sure it isn't free and it may be neglected but true abandonment isn't the case with power . I wouldn't think anyway
You are 100% correct. Some people think when someone dies, the government pays their power, water, gas bill and property for 8 years 🤯🤦🏻…..I blame the public school systems for the extreme lack of critical thinking skills.
Maybe that creek is tied to this mess in the basement ,either thru the walls or sewage .an overflow or something.that meat would smell to high hell and back ,I was eating burger helper ,I had to stop., Great explore . Stay safe.
I'm actually amazed the electricity still works especially after 8 years. Aside from the dangers of say the water and mold mixing with the electricity, my question is why is it still working? You'd think the hydro company would have cut it off when the hydro bills weren't paid. Added, and this comes from my experience in security. If the hydro is on, and stuff still works there could be security systems that are still operational that could bring out unwanted spectators.
You should never walk through a flooded basement when the power to the house is still on. You're so lucky you didn't get electrocuted. Stay safe so you can make more videos.
Maybe I watch to many shows and video's but.. I find it strange that the wife's pictures are gone.. Nothing showing family except the one family photo in the barn.. Seeing all that meat and freezers could the husband of murdered his wife? She is among the meat in the freezers.. Very strange there is soooo much meat yet doesn't look like there is enough property to hold so many animals to be butchered.. Why did he kill so many animals as no one could eat that much meat that he had stored..I find this a very strange case...
@@emilyh4919yup. And hunters I grew up around always has people process their meat for them. It was never a professional establishment just some guy they knew lol. I also knew people who had like a few cows and had one or two processed a year, that was also some guy, a little more professional but not like grocery store level. So. I know personally my stepdad had one entire freezer of deer at all times basically. So, this dude probably hunted and processed his own meat, and probably did it for others as like a side hustle.
It's very dangerous to walk through a flooded basement in a house with electricity still on. Careful bro.

Could be a 6.0. Or maybe 🤔. The 8.1. Imagine if it had a nv4500 or zf6 in it. 🤤
@SavageX420 yeah all possibilities yeah a zf6 oh my yes I would love that! I wanted a stick shift cateye bad enough I built 1 doesn't have a 6.0l or a duramax init tho swapped a 12valve cummins nv4500 263xhd push button 4x still works y did i keep that y not lol and I absolutely love it
i think if it was a duramax it would most likely have the duramax badging on the left hand side of the truck above the model badging. most likely a 6.0 gasser but you dont ever see 4x4 single cab 2500hds of any engine spec in that good of condition up in the northern states, damn cool and clean looking truck with probably not many miles at all
6 liter, 100% lol
A basement kitchen is a very Italian thing to find. Usually it gets used more than the one upstairs, so guests don’t see a dirty kitchen
So by the look of that Silverado for the time it has been left there the truck wouldn't be that clean, my guess is the family has been using the truck and the sucky part is probably due to the extreme temperature the pipes froze and cracked causing the basement to flood which could cause the family to have to main water turned off
But allow the electric to stay on, stay safe and always take precautions.
Omg a real time Capsule 😍🤩 Your in basement walking in water with Electricity n wires etc careful not 2 get electrocuted 😱😱😱
This is a great video! It looked like this person lived in Canada possibly not sure and might’ve been native. Very nice house RIP
Probably could used a scuba tank in there for air safety as well. That is beyond salvageable. Shame was a sweet property. It’s got to be dozed now. That black mold is literally inside the walls.
Not all the mold in there is the toxic bad mold but enough is indeed the toxic mold. That’s the stuff in the living room that will harm you.
Rotting meat will gag a maggot.
This was great 👍👍👍👍 Your reaction in that building had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Should turn on the sump pump !
It would be funnier than crap if the phone rang when he was standing by the nightstand in the bedroom. LOL
Italians have kitchens in their basements, it's traditional. In waterbury conn. Tons of old houses have basement second kitchens and bathrooms.
The mold in the house is the result of the basement being flooded and the house locked up.
Very sad that it’s left behind and the mess horrible
@21:50 I swear a voice can be heard saying either "go" or "no".
We heard it too...sounds super creepy!
First video and just subscribed, how do you come across these.
Noah, I like watching your videos all the time 👍😎
Thanks so much Sandra!
I'm the last one left in my family at 70. cellar and attic full of parents' stuff. no one to leave to. somebody gets it eventually, huh
That is so sad.... 😢
I know deer hunters and just hunters with 4 to 10 freezers full of meat.
