Youngest C-46 pilot in the World.. Congratulations.... Happy for the lad..
Being new on a type is always painful but you always look back on it with happy memories.
thank you this show is so awsome
Congrats sir! Well Done!!
Very happy for that Boy who Got his Wings at Buffalo ...Yéééééé
Love this show....
Its cool. A lot of us just got on the bandwagon.
First Paraguay comment...thank you for this show
Sacrifice for progress. Things you taught the kid may save lives in his new planes. Follow up his progress please. Mayne you wont regret.
Splendid...
Wow 20 years old , good for you.
Thought everything was melting up there, geewhiz!
Joe calm down
Tail low mains landing not a 3 point stall landing, Tail high is also good if you have enough runway
Joe has the people skills of a Cape buffalo! He should concentrate on the business and flying and let someone else deal with the employee’s
21:08 Sometimes I wish I were fluent in Mandarin or Russian...If you had a few of these exhaust manifolds to farm out as templates to master craftsmen it seems you can get a lot done if you speak the lingo... kind of like the DC-3 engines stashed away in Colombia. If you can talk to them in their language they´ll deal with you. I know from my younger years
I think Joe's man diapers finally blew a seal this time. He went full Mr Krabs.. I back the kid.
Congrats
you could have those exhaust made
...no, it's grounded for good...

Hi mike I love ur channel ur letting the kid Larry know about him will be on c-46 . In the back ground there’s a ford ranger black and gray I was wondering if you could find out if it’s for sale thanks mike ❤️🙏I’m terry from wpg thanks
I hope everyone here commenting is taking into account that this is a reality show that inflates drama. Its not a documentary.
Hi Mike how can I order the same black and green jacket that you use.
Buffalo Joe, you’re out of line.
How many stress cracks in the airframe ?
@Blue Penguin This is true.
Wow
Someone needs to explain to Joe that Inflicting fear is NOT a leadership style. Glad to see people get what they need at Buffalo and move on to surely better things!
They put a young man that's only done little training planes, and then put them on an old plane where everything's mechanical that he hasn't had enough training hours on that specific plane and then they push him in as copilot That's definitely a company problem!!
Well that's why they're currently shut down to be specific they were shut down due to poor safety On multiple accounts
@@maddogtank8425 Their website, facebook say they are still open and accepting jobs/charters. The TC shutdown was 2015
100% he's set up to fail, extremely poor and dangerous management decision. He should have been given ample time to study and/or be briefed on the type. A disaster waiting to happen.
Three comments here are puerile, idiotic and just stupid. How old do you fools think USAC pilots were in WW2 flying this aircraft? 60 with 10,000 hours? Get real and grow up. The young lad did well with two of the most experienced captains. So you lot, tell me, how many flying hours do you have?
@@jimwalsh8520 first and foremost that was ww2 we have rules and regulations so stuff like this should not happen there is real risk in rushing traning like this on such a complicated aircraft.
gotta admit, seems they asked a lot of that 20 year old kid ... then beat him up when he's tossed into the deep-end and told to swim faster.
Good on you boy go for it mine is old aeroplanes at your age man it's something paranormal young full of flight to have a go at
Not enough training for young guys...had a new co pilot shut off my inverters over Lax IFR on apch. In a C7. But management wouldn't let me train him properly.
So I left company...that's what you have to do so u won't get killed by meat in the seat...
Fun👍
It was supposed to cover the Electra trip and getting chuck back
Is this a new episode?
No. These were all filmed years ago!
I have no experience in the airline industry, therefore my comments will be limited. I do; however, have many years of experience in manager-employee relationships. While I understand "Joe" is the boss and may run his operation as he sees fit. The same "Joe" cannot run a business if he's a complete idiot and lacks a good relationship with his employees. If you have no employees, "Joe" you have no business. The only person "Joe" should be upset with is himself. He lacked the foresight in having a policy within his business to prevent this situation whereby an employee leaves for another company after having been trained. That's not the employee's fault, that's management's fault for not having a policy written to prevent that or a reimbursement to the company by the employee. Having said that, my impression of the young fellow that left was a good honest fellow that left to do better. I also have seen several episodes of this program whereby I find the family of employees at this airline very kind and good folks. "Joe" even seems like a good guy - but - he needs to apologize to that young fellow. Best wishes Buffalo.
He acted like that for TV and the show. BUT, he made an A-hole of himself in doing so.
All the comments about Joe's additude are coming from people who have never met the man. He is as old school as they come but there is so much more to him then what you see on TV . He is very kind to the people in the north and a pillar in the community . Just remember what one Buffalo employee told me , he said an angry Joe makes for good TV. Most of the time Joe is pretty calm .
26:06 "I thought" that kils people
I don't feel bad for Buffalo at all, he put in his application at a competing airline first cuz he originally wanted to work there and now that they accepted his application for the job he would prefer to have then he can leave Buffalo, they didn't have a contract on him if they don't have a contract on them they don't have a claim, maybe they can start doing contracts for employment and things would be more stable!
Yah, he got checked out before the offer came in. Nothing wrong with that.
@@matthewhaverkamp8657 this is why a lot of companies have employment salary/term & non-disclosure agreements that employees are required to sign if they want to work there.
Give them a rating, then bond them for 5 years, simple fact of aviation. You dont get owt for nowt
I've had my fill or working with a boss that has a temper as well as nepotism. This place has both. If I didn't control my temper my business wouldn't have lasted two months because you have to motivate your help and not by losing your temper. I've never motivated anyone by losing my temper. How archaic. I'm surprised Buffalo made it this far. Old Joe knew the guy leaving didn't know he was leaving but he was ticked and took it out on him anyway. I admit I've done that before but it's just wrong. His outburst is only going to serve his temporary frustration and possibly sour things down the road. It's very childish actually. Someone didn't discipline him for raging when he was a twerp. But you have to hand it to him for holding Buffalo together and keeping his dream of flying alive and well. That's a lot more than I've ever accomplished.
Too much too much boy you're pretty good I wish I had time to fly one of those aeroplanes
If that’s new FO training I’d hate to see what Capt upgrade looks like. Training on any transport takes loads of time in the books and even more time in the seat with an instructor who wants to teach. It doesn’t seem that this poor kid isn’t qualified to checkout Beach 18.
Poor Mikey is looking more and more like Jabba the Hut each episode. You never know he may have a sponsorship from MapleLeaf or Jack Links. Good for him though. He seems like a super good guy it just socks for him he didn't keep up on all that amazing progress he made with the trainer
My wife and I have met Joe. He was a very, very welcoming person and he invited my wife and me to look in and around any aircraft we wanted. I have worked for dozens of people in my 72 years and I can tell genuine people from fake. Joe is the real deal. I could work for the man. You just have to do your job and look at the bottom right of your paycheck.
Some companies and municipalities have their employees sign an agreement that if they leave before a certain time they must reimburse the employer for training.
@Elsan Cirato That's exactly what i figured.
I dont know how it is in Canada but in the US those contracts are generally not even enforceable.
And if it's your dream job there's no way in hell I wouldn't break a contract.
@@rileyk99 An example in that law enforcement agencies in the United States can and do require recruits to sign agreements that if they leave for another department within a set time period they must reimburse them for the training. Yes they do hold up and are enforceable.
At 1:45 there’s a beautiful 1940 Ford Coupe in the hanger. Who's the lucky owner?
It's Joe's he collects antique planes and antique Ford's and Merc's
Devon has neither the aptitude nor the temperament to be a training pilot. Shocking
Really , do you actually know him? I don't .
Devon said he hated training people but had to do it.
Wouldn’t they have done a few in person interviews?? They just don’t call 5 years later after you submit a resume and offer the job especially a airline!! So the kid did know there was a high chance he was leaving as he was probably on interview 2 or 3 at the time so he should have said something!!
25:26 "I just couldn't get it up" so....
The C-46 belongs in a museum.
There are plenty in museums.
Absolutely. They are not safe to fly anymore.
"A bigger bag on him then that" ha!! I am going to use that For sure!! LoL
Don't need the dramatic music
Don't know how much of this boss/employee interaction in the last couple of episodes is real--with young pilots moving on--but the way management is being portrayed is certainly not flattering...or professional.
Not just the management.
@@pascalcoole2725 You are a bitter little person arent you?
Entirely Devon’s fault - clearly there was no briefing given before the takeoff.
every problem coming up is serious in a reality show... lol
I suspect that there were many, many hours of filming that wound up on the cutting room floor. The producer(s) cherry picked from the footage that made the cut to focus on the more "dramatic scenes" thereby increasing the tension.
As I understand it, the Canadian feds closed Buffalo down years ago. Over the carrier's regulatory, maintenance and safety disregard, obviously
Ah NO. They no longer fly the sched. Otherwise it seems like business as usual.

First comment Pakistan..
It's sad to see younger pilots abuse their opportunities to climb in a small company, just to ditch them when they reach their goals... That makes it harder for the next one who wants to climb the ranks..
They should have a contract that says they have to stay for atleast xx amount of years to move on to other companies, atleast the company that gave them training, get their money back atleast...
I must have been one of the only ones that didn't see Joe's reaction as "being a bad boss" as much as him being extremely hurt by what Gord did.
The only way Gord is going to prove to the boss that he didn’t become captain and spend $15,000 of the bosses money just to leave is to start paying the boss man back the $15,000 that was spent spent on certifying him as a captain. I’m sure Gord will be making much more money now at the new job and even if he only send $100 a month it will show the boss he didn’t just use him for his $15,000. I would also send the first payment to the old boss with a copy of his incoming calls circling the one call offering him the new job.
Since Joe kicked him out on his last day I doubt Gordo will be sending him much of anything.
It would be courtesy for him to pay Joe little by little at least some of the funds back for training.
i could make exhausts for that c46 all day long wtf
and\or 3d print it
I was thinking the same, with the tech of today, it should be rather easy to make these types of parts
@@colincampbell7126 These were shot a decade ago. A lot has changed since then.
Frank, they need to be certified. Certifying overhauled parts is less troublesome.
@@pascalcoole2725 forgot about that u r correct
I guess Joe thinks that his underpaid, under the thumb young pilots want to make a career our of working at his airlines. Joe does not understand that for all of these young pilots, this airline is just a training spot and that the young pilot will move on to a much better flying job, at a much better airline.
Poor Joe cant see the forest thru the trees at times ,
Joe is more like a 🤡 to me
Tallest dwarf ever
Actually... y'all know what I've just been rattled by? The level of optimism these so called "experts and wise men" throw around the idea of having a meager 20 year old dude, piloting this metal bird by himself...if I'm not mistaken here, which according to the claims made by the experts, is the hardest plane to fly from among the entire fleet, and they expect a newbie to show them a "Chester Sullenberger" masterpiece!!! Vladimator, apparently i'm not the only one who had serious doubs regarding this company.

To this day we have teenager s applying national policy.with aircraft tank s and weapons.
A 20 year old is a man! An 18 year old is a man they are not teenagers. We have 21 year old fast jet pilots in the RAF
Wow. Joe really is a horrible boss. Who in their right mind would ever work for him?
Nobody can “fab” something up?
If another person in the cockpit can rattle you and make you make mistakes, you do not belong in the cockpit
Too bad the guys at Buffalo dont look at Davis Monthan Regeneration facility to buy turbine aircraft to help the company
No friends buddy they measure their eyes before you even are allowed to land Pretty sure the camera crew does not want to have their own lives took them away because of ice they signed a contract waiver waver and there a wife so obviously the ice has been checked over a 1000 times
It’s interesting looking at these guys trying to teach a young beginner to fly a complex aircraft. The 20 year old’s brain will be the size of a pea. He’s using all his capacity to fly straight and level. You don’t get trained on this aircraft, you observe and try to pick up what you can. This kid hasn’t flown for 11 months. He’s got 200 hours…what do you expect. No ground school, no simulator, no training. Sit in the seat and see what happens….hmmmm
I wonder if Joe felt like a jackass after watching this episode and seeing that Gord was telling the truth all along
Good grief, it's laughable how often these planes break down. How this so-called "airline" lands any contracts is beyond belief.....
For every breakdown, there are thousands of hours of use. The Pratt and Whitney engines are certified for 1500 hours MTBF. The producers of this series focused on the breakdowns for dramatic purposes.
Why does this dude look like he wants to cry every time he’s talking
Is that what your daddy says about you?
He can’t find old exhaust manifolds for a dying plane. Soon he won’t need pilots because the hand writings on the wall buffalo airways will die unless they move on like joe said it’s in the past.
Oh whta pathetic tosh. Are you a pilot, ever run a flying operation? Do you even know how strngent the regulations are? Obviously not. Best advice, dont watch it, go and whine about something else
Joe said in an earlier episode, "it may be time to move on." BUT when 1 of his pilots said he was moving on to work for another Airliner, Joe went ballistic.

Honestly I think Gord should have let Joe know that he interviewed with first air the day after so that Joe could get someone else to get bumped up to c-46 captain instead of him wasting Joe's money and time just to leave him hanging

He submitted his resume and had an interview over a year before the "your hired" phone call the evening *after* his PPC and promotion. How is that his fault?
