After watching hundreds of depressing Abandoned Chateau videos I am so happy that so many cats like you and Don have the artistic vision and drive to apply your genius to restore these Chateaux! I am following quite a few now as a counter balance to all the fascinating decay I was outraged by eventually about seeing! Thank You...very important works for France.

You are such a classy guy and you going over what you want to do adds so much and you can feel how much love you are putting into it. I live in Budapest and there are so many beautiful buildings. The goverment is rebuilding the castle area that was destroyed in the war to perfection where they still have the original drawings. One of the buildings has chain rail That each link must weigh 5 lbs they perfect rectangles, not sure how they were made. This is a small detail in a spectacular building. One of 12 being built or restored. The interior was poured concrete, but all exterior detail is perfection. The city goverment must have lost its most talented people, there city projects from around 30 years ago that were great . No one with skill and vision you have today. I’m no where near the level you are, but it drives me crazy seeing what’s being done in one of the worlds most beautiful cities.

I'm still in love with your bounty of cyclamen. They're such a lovely shade of pink. I have a white one blooming in my kitchen window. It's not quite as impressive.
I really like your vision for your garden. The yews will be wonderful. I have yet to try them here in Texas. Texans seem to grow Podocarpus more often. I see mostly small Taxus, when I see them. Not like those majestic ones back in MN that are many meters high. I like the richness of their flat evergreen leaves and the beautiful red berries.
The whole scene will be spectacular for large events. I can't wait to see it finished.

Bellissimo Giardino. Your chateau property is very unique, something out of a French Fairytale Castle. Architectural details are very French in times past. Our favorite palace gardens are those of ROYAL PALACE OF CASERTA, about three kilometers long with fountains, statues and waterfalls cascading down from the back mountain. Extremely fascinating. Some trees in the forest are over two thousand years old. We enjoy your explanation of how your gardens may look like.

Your plan is lovely and elegant, befitting your castle. I love the fountains and the symmetry. Balance in formal gardens is important. Also the detail in maintaining the walls, and keeping the sunken gardens will be amazing. Which variety of Taxus are you going to plant? I cannot wait to see the fountains up and running and the plantings. What I find most exciting are the walls of pruned, ‘topiaried’ Lindens. They are magnificent when pruned and shaped well. You are doing a great job. I cannot wait to visit and see it in person. Bigger is better.

I would like to suggest investigating more the surroundings of the parterre sud fountain. The perforations at a regular distance in the wall surrounding the circular pond could indicate that the entire space surrounding the central fountain was part of a larger water garden, of which the fountain was only the center of the entire installation, perhaps intended to aquatic plants with the central fountain as a focal point. It reminded me the gardens of the Roman villa of the Station, located in the ancient Anticaria of imperial Betica, present-day Antequera, Spain. Excellent work and congratulations for respecting the magnificent sequoia! Greetings from Argentina.
