Wouldn't you think the market could capitalise on the shorter hooklengths, we can easily buy the 4" lengths but they're almost made for the method feeder.
Really great to see you out n about, with net now allowed (at fishery owners discretion) bet you had great time with short and long lengths. Thanks to the three of you, and the odd guests. Made lock down n ptsd so much easier 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Fingers crossed you guys still see this I know its later on... On thumb nail Jamie's HLR box showed the 2inch hook lengths stored between the 4 inch and 6 inch pegs. For the HLR matrix box don't these slope inwards? how did he stop the hooks sliding off? Hope this makes sense XD
Guys what about big fish in the edge? A big double, would it not need a longer hook link for its body size, like 8'' maybe? Or would you still keep it at 3'' please?
Great video guys 🎣 Would i be right in saying you would use micro bait bands for 4mm pellet fishing and a standard bait band for 6mm/8mm deck fishing or muggin carp ?
Than a two inch hook length would you not get better presentation, fishing your main line straight through to the hook as long as you're line isnt to thick
We all have our own ideas. A 2" hooklength puts the loop to loop and all them knots and tag ends too close to the bait, might as well use a 15lb hooklength. Expander pellets, corn and other heavy baits are heavy enough to register a bite. Small baits on small hooks, just put a stot or a cube on the hooklength, they won't damage the line. 🥴
Yes , this is my thinking you would get better presentation fishing straight through with no hook length as long as you're not using to thick a line. & you won't have the loops causing drag through the water. 2" seems too small
Great tips guys love the winning ways great laugh at times as well 👍 challenge for you Jamie Andy and Rich a carp fishing challenge over night not f1s sorry Jamie big silly rods and tents 🤣🤣
Fishing with Hooks if you get the cheaper membership there are only two live matches at the mo but worth a watch and the live Q.As but you can cancel any time. If you get the more expensive membership there are all the videos that are on Vimeo so a lot to go at and can cancel any time I am happy at the mo but choice is yours is yours if I find I’m not getting enough I will just cancel.
That's easy. It's 2-4 inches. Anything bigger and that's 4+ inches your hook is away from the bait if it's displaced. I tend to use 4 inches as they aren't as fiddly to tie. Work fine for me.
@@scottessery100 Nothing wrong with fishing straight through, but if you use a slightly lower diameter hooklength it will break easier if you get snagged or snapped by a big fish.
For the average pleasure angler it doesn't have to be but for these match guys it's all about percentages and being 110% efficient, and with that it can become technical but extremely deadly, anything they can employ to give them the edge they will and these match guys are at the top of their game with many hours experience behind them earning big money cheques! but a lot of things can be learned from these guys and applied your pleasure angling.
Great to see you lads back out, looking at Jamie's hook box's it no wonder the online shops don't have any hooks listed 😀
Not many in the tackle shops either, what happened?

Great video 👍🏽 myself using 6” hook lengths for everything is so wrong! 😥

It’s based on the depth you are fishing, so shallow water, such as edges and mud line you’ll want shorter hooklengths even for bigger fish 👍🏻
Thanks Jamie and Andy most of the hook lengths I have tied up are useless. Nice vid though.
How on earth do you tie 2 inch hook lengths. I struggle big time with 3 inch. Great to see you back 😵👍
this might be of help ruclips.net/video/DZmd-KakZvY/видео.html
Best 1 yet🎣🎣🎣
Watch the Jon Arthur video for 2" hooklengths
Is it Worth it getting membership
Great video guys. Question which storage boxes can accommodate 2 ins hooklengths gents
Various ones will, the MAP Dual is adjustable so can be set to any length👍🏻
Brilliant video full of info 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great video guys 🎣

I use a micro band on pellets up to 6mm, 8mm pellets I use a standard size band.

waiting for a hooklength video for the hybrid feeder

I had a go at tying some 2" hook lengths, my fingers looked, and felt as though I'd poked em in the blender. never again.
Worst job in fishing!

What is an F1?
a racing car...... its a fish obviously (very late reply but oh well)
When can we have a three sum? You two and Daddy May.
It’s not big and clever to smash someone with 2” 😂
when did fishing become so complicated 😂
