I think with Cyclizar, it was more domestication than adaptation. As humans started to live in Paldea, Koraidon or whatever they were at the time were likely friendlier to this new species than other pokemon, given how ours acted in-game, and humans latched onto them like we did to our dogs and cats in real life. Over thousands of years, Koraidon would have it's more ferocious traits weeded out to become more appealing to humans, and thus, the Cyclizar that has existed for at least 10,000 years now was born.
I read somewhere that pigs can regrow their tusks if they go feral. So Cyclizar could become feral and become more like Koraidon before turning to Miraidon... or rather Miraidon was based on Koraidon that was brought into the present with a time machine before being brought back with a time machine themselves, creating a paradox.
HIGHLY unlikely for a very simple reason. It's made a point that ancient pokemon thrived on and produced a unique energy that would be harmful for modern pokemon. They had died out millions of years prior to modern pokemon, and koraidon is extremely rare, even with time machines. I doubt the ancient pokemon died off, and then koraidon did. It's more likely koraidon died out and was replaced with a much more docile cousin, cyclizard, and that led to the other species going extinct and being replaced with modern pokemon. Not to mention our koraidon is only kind because we happened to find it when it was injured. It would've had bouts of aggression otherwise, apparently.
I would've preferred speculative evolution, but the idea that the future paradoxes are only organic pokemon that incorporated ever-advancing tech into their bodies is something I believe myself.
This was the theory I originally beleved before I read the scarlet and violet books now I'm conflicted on this and the imagined pokemon being actualized theory
@@meepmeep2706 You *actually* believe them? All the descriptions are said to come from a paranormal magazine, and are all *wildly* outlandish. If they're true, then Iron Jugulis is supposedly the result of a Hydreigon that fell in love with a robot and... somehow had an egg together?
There seems to be a floating theory that the Paradox Pokémon we see are the manifestations of Sada or Turo's imagination brought to life. They somehow accessed the power of the "third legendary" and it created Pokémon based on what they imagine Pokémon would be like in the ancient past/far future. This also affected history, as Heath's team encountered them a century before the game's story begins, sending them to various points in history. We'll have to see if any DLC will expand on the game's world.
I would add that Heath had an oniric experience in area zero where he spoke with someone but doesn't know who for days (theory says third leggendary) so it can be that the third leggendary gives life to people's immagination
Something worth mentioning is the Occulture series of books you can read between the school and the Lighthouse. The books almost read like a scifi tabloid and have these near fantastical descriptions from what I can recall off the top of my head. Furthermore they were also published and in circulation after Heath's expedition
@@jerbear8884 I like the aspect that even in a world of already magical and crazy looking creatures, they still have their own version of folklorish fantastical beings whose existence is unconfirmed.
I like the idea of future paradox pokemon being cyborgs that resemble extinct pokemon from the present, they could have been made due to filling out a very important niche in the region and so forth, kind of a keystone species per say. It's not that far fetched since we've been looking into this in the real world, there is research on drones like robots to substitute bees in case they, you know, poof. Iron Valiant is clearly a mix between Gardevoir and Gallade, maybe the combination of both their aspects could've saved time and resources since they could fill the same niche, considering they're gender variations of the same evolution line. (not considering the pokedex entry.) I really like this idea and I just don't see a lot of people give attention to it, it's pretty on the nose too!
All the future paradox mons except for miraidon are considered rare in the present. For how cyclizar could of gone extinct it's probably infighting as miraidon and koraidon both are territorial meaning that in future and past the species is prone to fighting.
My theory on future paradox pokemon. If you think about it since being tamed most pokemon spend their time in balls or in pc storage rather than in the open fields and wilderness. The new future forms can be a reflection of that shedding their organic natures and embracing the digital to better adapt to their new environments. Think about all the pokemon trainers have essentially turned into computer code and have left stranded in cyber space
I like the idea that the professor didn't invent a time machine but a "dream come true god complex" Pokemon 3D Printer and the Book simply is the data the machine uses as blueprints
I actually really like that explanation of the future paradox because I've been wondering why someone would augment random wild animals. They're beloved pets and partners, sure but the ones we catch are wild. But...bringing back extinct animals with the best technology available makes a good amount of sense. I can see us bringing to life a bunch of robot dinosaurs so, why not?
My theory for why the ancient Pokémon can’t breed is that they might only be able to do so within Area Zero, which would probably have research on it continued due to the ancient Pokémon. You wouldn’t be able to get back in there otherwise. So, the researchers wouldn’t allow you to breed them for safety reasons.
ON top of the Iron variants being made to replace certain pokemon (whether or not this is due to an ecological disaster of some sort, we'll likely never know), I think Iron Valiant may have been made for a specific purpose. We all know how Gardevoir is capable of creating black holes in order to defend its trainer... what if Iron Valiant was made to *destroy* them? What if there was something so horrible in the future that it warranted creating this mechanical amalgamation of mega Gardevoir and mega Gallade... Guzzlord. 🤔
That was my thought as well when I saw the Beast Ball. The is a TikToker named Scarecrowsketch and either he made a post or someone else did about certain Pokémon returning and I swear Guzzlord was mentioned. I feel that Guzzlord had a hand in making a lot of Pokémon go extinct and a few surviving humans built the ones we see in game as a way to combat Guzzlord. As for Past Paradoxes, I firmly believe the ones we see are Mega forms that didn’t need the stones…like Roaring Moon…we can catch its Mega Form.
@@Sirvikrail Or rather, the mega stones allow pokemon to tap into their latent DNA, allowing them to regain some of their previous characteristics from the past.
Alternate theory idea: Both games are taking pokemon from the future, and the professor was mistaken with their assumptions. Both futures representing some kind of event resulting a drastic change in pokemon, one in which there is now an abundance of primal energy, the other in which pokemon species are dying off and being replaced with mechanical variations, perhaps as some way of preventing total ecological collapse. Alternate theory 2: There is no past or future pokemon, it's alternate dimensions.
You were talking about how the past had this primal energy, and to some extent our past did aswell; nothing was really set in stone yet and a lot of the creatures we saw would've likely become extinct or at least weakened themselves through time if the meteor/ice age/great extinction event hadn't happened. Large creatures need more mass to support their size, and many prehistoric plants grew without much in the way of consumers, leading to large ammounts of biomass that the diosaurs and other such creatueres to use. But looking at how in SwSh we had a proposed energy crisis, perhaps the future paradox pokemon are the cause of that energy crisis? Assuming that the primal energy in the past was an abundance of biomass created over millenia, leading to creatures evolving to their resources rather than their surroundings, perhaps the future did the same thing, where humanity's desire for more power lead to pokemon adapting in ways to use this energy source themselves. The kardachev scale sees societies level of advancement by the ammount of energy it is able to use. The diosaurs basically had nature stockpile alot of energy, so they went the gigantism route. If humans began to make the world into a power plant, then logically it would be easier for a creature to use electrical energy to suppliment, or outright replace, caloric intake and ATP. Since Volcorona has a verson in the past, present and future, I'll be using them to explain my though process. (I also am biased towards gen V, but Great Tusk, Donphan, and Iron Treads can be used to generate leads) Slither Wing, to me, had wings to help it dissipate excess heat generation. Many Earth species do this and we even take advantage of that practice with things like passive heat dispersal in locations where using air or liquid cooling may not be effective or desirable. It's fighting type here would also make sense as moving that big of a body around would require alot of muscle strength and by proxy generate alot of heat within itself. As the energy source the past had dwindled, Sliter Wing had one of two options: either become a better competetor for the dwindling resource or adapt to the lack of energy. Its wings gradually shifted their use from heat dispersal to actual flight, and by conserving the heat it used to waste, it didn't need to be all that strong, shifting from a fighting type to a fire type, a better use for the energy that it used to waste. This useage shift can also be supported by the thinning of the wings, meaning less vessels to carry heated bodily fluids (like blood) but better for weight and aerodynamics. Now jump to the future. Volcorona, needing some way to get food outside of natural sources, begins to look towards electricity. Typically, Volcorona take up residence in hot climates like deserts, which we see in both Black/White and Paldea. (they're also found in more lush enviroments like jungles, but looking at the real world I'm going to assume that these enviroments were either damaged beyond repair or became ecological safety zones and thus normal volcorona/larvesta can be found). Deserts are often looked at for solar energy production, since there is little else out there other than sand and sun, and by the fact that sand is typically a result of dry ground erosion also recieves a high ammout of solar energy, which is why most of them are near the equator. With humans creating solar farms to harness the heat the sun throws off, Volcorona begin to harvest energy from these places, adapting their wings to contain solar cells and gaining the poison typeing and metal appearance due to consuming battery storage, the metals leeching into their bodies and producing their sheen (which could mean that Iron Moth has a body made of litium and some other non-active metal such as copper, silver, or gold, which make for highly efficient batteries). Using some of the excess energy that the solar wings created, Iron Moth was able to have the wings detach, which could lead to additional effienciey in collecting solar energy. Lithium, Silver, Copper, and Gold are all extreemely toxic to most living creatures, and since much of it's once insectile body was replaced by these, it gained the poion typing to reflect it's capacity to use these materials in a more corrosive capacity (which isn't too out of the question, as Eternatus is also more metalic looking than poisonus, meaning it might be using a similar technique). This might also mean that in the future, Iron Moth may be a similar evolution to Magnezone and Jolteon in some games, requiring an area of high electrical energy (like a solar farm).
My theory of sandy shocks is that since timetravel is a thing, the researchers of area zero experimented on infusing primal energy into current day pokemon, but since they did not have enough power, they used electric pokemon to power the machine, causing a explosion that send a magneton back in time, causing the mutation known as sandy shocks As for Iron valiant, this one is 100% made by some cultured person in the future
Big brain theory for the future paradox pokemon: They are not made by people, its the Pokemon themselves who just advanced to the point where they had to acknowledge that flesh is weak, that bones can break and that organic trainers are failable, so they replaced all of that to fight on a new peak.
They can evolve but their evolutions are most likely still in their own time and since very little is known about them They probably haven’t been discovered yet
Just a thought: all the mons may not actually be related to current pokemon, but instead be similar due to being a convergent species, a concept also emphasized in scarlet/violet with the wigglet and toedscool lines. Which would also explain why we only get specific mons and not their pre or post evolutions, and why they cannot be bred at all. They're literally similar to ultra beasts in this regard, just ones that closely resembles our own to some extent, and why the two specific sets that we get all have uncanny similarities.
I think I have a good explanation for sandy shocks. So I have long thought that Magnemite is from space. Perhaps being an alien that crashed on Earth and took on the form of the ship. Maybe it was an electric being similar to Rotom. Maybe Rotom is also an alien and Magnemite was one of those aliens that got stuck in part of its crashed ship. Sandy shocks looks nothing like the other past Pokemon and has that alien look we know today. This also makes sense as to why it's final form looks like a space ship. This theory also covers why he has man made parts on him like screws and such even though no humans lived at the time it was from.
Good video. i like your idea for the future paradoxes specially as it makes sense why Iron Valiant is a fusion of Gardevoir and Gallade. Perhaps they found remains or fossil of Kirlia instead of gardevoir or gallade. Since Kirlia has branching evolution its DNA contains information for both of its evos which is why ressurecting and modifying kirlia fossil could produce a pokemon thats a fusion of its evolutions. That fact alone makes your theory more plausible than any other theories on future paradox pokemon in my eyes.
Thank you! That's an awesome idea! It also makes me wonder what other Pokemon fusions could come from these modifications? Especially for Pokemon like Tyrogue or Eevee with several branches. Could be interesting to see
@@fierymew I think the future eevee would have an arceus/silvally-esque type changing powers, and the tyrouge one would probably be like a stronger steel hitmontop, with hitmonchan gloves and hitmonlee legs.
What I hope for the past paradox pokemon is that there really just past pokemon like we see in hisui that adapted to their environments of the time. So we can see them in future legends games like jhoto and kanto. For example Rowlet and Oshowatts final evolution adapted to the harsh environment of hisui. With samurott becoming more aggressive in its final stage to adapt to more aggressive Pokémon and decidueye adapting to cold weather of hisui.
Something that I've been thinking of for Violet's Paradox forms is something that I haven't heard discussed before. I was watching John Michael Godier's "Fermi Paradox: The Time Problem" video, where he mentioned one of the solutions to the Fermi Paradox is that alien civilizations may be operating on time scales where thousands of years to them is the equivalent of minutes to us - and one way they may have gotten there is by *uplifting themselves, as well as all the animals of their planet* by integrating their bodies with machines to extend their lifespans and improve their intelligence. Perhaps, sometime in the far future of PokéEarth, humans with artificially-enhanced lifespans are out colonizing the entirety of the the Poké-Way Galaxy, and decided to fulfill their millennia-long bargain with Pokémon to work together to improve the lives of both parties. And in order to do so, they uplifted all known Pokémon species so they could continue working together until the end of time.
it’s stated in one of Mega Aerodactl’s dex entries that many people believe mega Aerodactl to be the true original form of Aerodactl and I theorize that Sandy Shocks isn’t an ancestor of the Magnemite line, but an evolution to fit into it’s era due to the time rifts found in ancient Sinnoh, many Magnetons were captured and kept in the fields by the people there, eventually, these people died/left behind their Magnetons and other Pokémon, the Magnetons left their new homes and eventually found themselves in ancient Paldea, which was full of ancient Pokémon like Great Tusk or Scream Tail, and didn’t have any technology these Magnetons were used to, so they had to evolve to fit into the area, eventually collecting magnetic sand on their bodies and becoming more bendy and “alive” then rigid and mechanical then these evolutions disappeared along with the rest of the past paradoxes this would probably make Sandy Shocks the paradox of paradoxes
Fun fact, food likely wasn't the main driver for a giraffes long neck, since they prefer to eat leaves lower on a tree. The main driver was sexual competition. Long necks were more effective weapons.
Something I wished you had talked about, but I think you may not have come across if you only played Scarlet - The Violet book mentions that Heath came across Pokémon that resemble the Paradox Pokémon when he went exploring in Area Zero some 200 years prior to the events of the game. That might make sense if some ancient Pokémon (the Scarlet Paradox mons), maybe some of the ancient ones had been hidden away from the rest of Paldea and did not go extinct. But it makes (area) Zero sense when discussing the Future Paradox mons from Violet. We are explicitly told that the Paradox mons only started showing up *after* Professor Turo (in Violet and Sada in Scarlet) used their "time machine" to bring them from the far future (or ancient past) in pokeballs. So how could Health have also come across them??? The answer lies in their name... Paradox Pokémon. What can cause a paradox? Time travel. And that, along with the mysterious shards, the Tera phenomenon, and the third "disc" legendary, are what will be explored in the upcoming DLC.
Based on what what is known so far it almost seems that Paradox Pokemon might be Modern pokemon that have been warped by some influence caused by the "Time Machine". Because with the exception of Koraidon and Miraidon, they all give off a "Something's wrong with this Picture" feeling, While the Past ones look like bizarre hybrids or chimeras, the Future ones barely resemble or move like living things. Koraidon is less patchwork than his packmates, and Miraidon actually looks and moves like a living creature (Albeit one with technological Influences).
As far as Sandy Shocks goes, I distinctly remembering something... from the anime, maybe?.. saying that Magnemite evolving is almost involuntary and that the Magnemite that make up Magneton cannot be separated once it evolves. This is distinctly different from Sandy Shocks, where the three heads seem bound, but also the same creature. Perhaps Sandy Shocks is closer to Magnemite than Magneton, but there is some magnetic body structure reason it rearranges into Magneton, a form much closer to Sandy Shocks, when exposed to strong magnetic waves. As for the Violet paradox pokemon, I assumed that these were similar to Scizor/Steelix, i.e. metal coat-like "upgrades" of earlier pokemon- but the comparison to Genesect is certainly interesting. It does feel weird to me that you would be able to catch full fledged robots just becuase they are based off of ancient pokemon- but I guess that's not too far off some other pokemon in game. As for why they cannot breed, it could simply be down to that we cannot determine their genders. This isn't wildly off base for real life- the way different animals express sex characteristics varies vastly, and sometimes even biologists need to examine them for a while before they can figure out how newly discovered species reproduce- so the explanation may simply be that they cannot breed because we cannot figure out which ones breed with each other. Maybe their breeding involves some sort of highly complicated ritual. Or maybe they just feel uncomfortable producing an egg while a child watches from behind a picnic table.
That's a very interesting point you bring up about Sandy Shocks. It also seemed odd to catch robots, but I do believe there is still some sort of Pokemon "essence" within them. But aside from that, Porygon is a wholly artificial Pokemon, and that just works... somehow I love your theory about why they can't breed, that makes a ton of sense!
@@fierymew Pokeballs are kind of insane, when you think about it. They can catch pokemon, aliens, space viruses, and now robots (I believe they're closer to synthetic life than cyborgs because of the digital display faces, but anything is possible). The only time they seemed to fail us is when Ultra Beasts from entirely different dimensions showed up, and *even then* it still wasn't impossible to catch them in a poke ball.
Fierymew's interpretation of Paradox poke lore: Explains a whole thesis about primal energy and violet paradox mons being revived cyborgs like Genesect. Actual part of official pokemon lore: That's one sexy ass toaster, I've got a boner thanks to that. -Hydreigon with a machine fetish.
Super plausible theory with each one imo. I forget how in-depth GameFreak goes with pokemon biology and history. my theory is that they just wanted to look cuter because they all look cuter in the modern day :)
Given Pokémon are magical, I wouldn’t put it past them to just be able to will that into existence haha. Actually now that I think about it, some of Bagon’s entries talk about how it wanted to fly so much that it evolved. Although personally I’ve never took that entry too seriously.
I have my own theory on Slither Wing which is quite... simple. It's not a Volcarona, it's a Larvesta, a Larvesta halfway to manifesting the Evolution we know today as Volcarona, it's not quite there yet but has most of the features that a Volcarona would have, when it gets brought through, that natural Darwininan Evolution just stops, it doesn't have the environment or Primal Energy necessary to complete that Darwinian Evolution.
Definitely sharing. Loved this. Thank you for making this. I'm wondering if you would be interested in making a video talking about past pokemon in general? More broad? Like for example where do you think everyone fits? We have fossils and amber. We have relicanth the living fossil. We have genesect. We have hisui forms. And now we have paradox. (Edited in) oh and I guess we also have the 4 relics now too. Though that really depends on how you view past pokemon being past. Though I did just include hisui forms earlier too... ugh. I don't know. It's getting too crowded, complicated and difficult to keep up and keep track.
I like the theory for future paradox pokemon. I still hate the designs, though. I don't want cyborg pokemon or extinct pokemon. This franchise is all about how pokemon came to be tamed and humans learning to coexist with these creatures.
Paradox is when something isn't supposed to happen. I'm pretty sure Magnemite would be considered a 'modern' Pokemon not ancient. Nor would there be pokeballs to copy (Brute Bonnet). Considering Legends Arcus has it's own time paradoxes (even the Porygon family showed up) as well, these Pokemon are being flung all over the timeline now.
So you're suggesting these modern Pokémon got sent to the past and changed into those forms as a result of being stuck there? Now THAT is fascinating. I hadn't even considered that. And yeah, Foongus/Amoongus are really curious too. Foongus' Scarlet entry theorizes the creator of Poke Balls was a fan of it, while Amoongus' Violet entry states it mimics them. Very strange indeed
Great video, but I’m personally not a fan of the justification of why we don’t see pre-evolved forms of the Ancient Pokémon. My working theory is that there are in fact primal forms of Bagon, Phampy, etc., but because the paradox pokémon can’t breed in the games, you just can’t get them. As for the justification of the Future Pokémon and the evolutions of the Paradox Pokémon, I feel like your reasoning makes sense.
i just think they all are litteral paradox of what certain pokemon could look like in the past for scarlet and in the future for violet and they are alive trugh the power of the non yet seen third legendary. so they cant breed because this legendary is like trying to make what archeus did but he just cant. if its not like this why would brute bonnet resemble a pokeball in a so much ancient past when we know from archeus the pokeballs were not built this much time ago?
For me what's funny is that the pseudo legendary paradox mons are weaker than their modern day versions and mega Aerodactyl is said to be the true ancient form of it
I wonder if they'd bring the legends arceus pokemon in and label them as paradox too. Well probably not likely but it's interesting that they're also from the past and also have exaggerated designs, but not to the intensity of the prehistoric ones
For me the paradox Pokémon are distant relatives to old Pokémon Ancient paradox Pokémon: ancestors to them Future updates paradox Pokémon: roboticized decendants of old Pokémon I hope I see not only new original species of Pokémon and convergent species of Pokémon, but also more paradox Pokémon or even imagination made Pokémon in the future generations of Pokémon games
The Paradox forms might not be totally my cup of tea (especially the Robot designs of the future forms) - but I'm still glad they did them as they did Ultra Beasts despite me thinking the UB's are still the pinnacle of their creativity. I love this sort of exotic, high BST variety in Pokémon. Though, I'd _love_ more UBs; the space theme in S/V is perfect for them!
@@fierymew Yep! So many possibilities with the new Open-world format We've got now. Lots of intriguing areas (especially the North East province and Glaseado Mountain's outer regions.) Just hope they can also improve on the technical side too as the Pokedex becomes more filled out.
My current theory is that they ARE similar to ultra beasts, just that are convergent with current pokemon (the same way wigglet is a convergent species with digglet).
@@sinteleon They definitely have this weird and mystical vibe about them - and it's Playable lore! The Best thing in gaming is weird, half unexplained stuff that you stumble into during your actual playthrough and are half left to wonder as the credits roll. Not even Breath managed this I should point out; it had the 'lore' but so little of it was playable - the player had to virtually theorise everything!
Wings usually beging evolving to radiate off more heat or to absorb more heat from the sun and later Double up to let the animal fly to avoid predators.
My theory for them is that bc of those specific types of fullkng evolved pokemon or pokemon back then that are fully evolved must have lost their primal energy bc of kyorge and groudon loser their energy or something like that or maybe their was a split in their DNA causing them to become a sort of baby or have missing peices like Magneton and magnemite and Sandy shocks but retand some of their evolutions traits causing them to be new pokemon and that due to evoment change (and pokeballs being sent back in time causing brute bonnet to look like one)and bc of the pokeballs going back in time they thought it was some greedy monster eating you in one bite and leaving.
For sandy shocks my guess is that it used to look like a regular Pokémon but adapted to being exposed to some sort of ancient form of metal Sort of like Pokémon’s version of vibranium and then overtime became sandy shocks and then the magnemite line The metal could have come from space explaining why magnezone resembles a UFO
I think they all just overtime just became cyborgs down the line without going extinct maybe endangered or a way to keep them from being endangered Or just a way to advance evolution in a selfish way
I'm a big believer that the future paradox Pokemon are a response to them having gone extinct. My main argument actually comes from looking at their shiny forms. It seems to me that the shiny versions are just ones that went unpainted off of the factory line. Any sort of evolution for the Pokemon, wouldn't make sense to me that they just lose coloring. Especially since every single one follows that same pattern. Also, each having "Iron" as part of its name fits with them being created by some company. I also think that the people creating the Pokemon aren't doing it with perfect information, which is why Iron Valiant is a mix of Gallade and Gardevoir. Pokemon is filled to the brim with evil teams trying to change the world in irreparable ways, and it seems that one finally made the impact they were looking for. On a final note, there would be clear motivation for a company to step in and create robotic Pokemon. All of society revolves around Pokemon. Pokemon battles are the sport that exists within the world. People use Pokemon to help with tasks at home etc... and even some career fields use Pokemon to their advantage i.e. police having growlithe with them.
One theory about the Future Paras I saw was that Humanity invented killer robots which rebelled and went genocidal against regular life. The regular pokemon then had to adapt to look like robots so that the robots thought they were of their own and didn't fire.
So going based on what we know, the dex clearly states that the Iron Pokemon are objects which is fascinating and definitely implies that these are definitely robots. Iron Valiant's one is even more interesting as it explicitly states that it was the result of the experiment done by some madman and the fact that it's very clearly Gardevoir and Gallade mangled into one body, implies that these things are definitely man-made thus explaining why the Iron Pokemon can't breed. The only thing that pokes a whole in that statement is that Iron Jugulis' dex explicitly states that Hydreigon mated with a robot to make it so....I don't know how that works without getting into explicit details lol
The theories for past forms are extremely good in my opinion and the explanation for future forms is also really good. It also falls in line with the evolution method of some Pokémon. For Sandy Shock, I have one idea. I think it's about the iron residues making up its hair, I think Sandy Shock is a sort of being victim of its own overpowering of magnetic energy. It rips iron dust straight from the ground and gets it stuck on its body. With less primal energy it would lose some magnetic energy and newborns would exist as single individuals, giving Magnemite. When growing up Magnemite's magnetic power increases and attracts Magnemites of similar power and then they evolve into Magneton and their energies combine into one being. This is my theory
I like your ideas/theories. I wonder now, with this video in my head, aren't fossil-pokemon also be considered "Paradox pokemon"? What if these ancient paradox pokemon became extinct by other reasons? What if their mass extinctions even the legendary pokemon coudn't stop or prefent. What if humans came from another world that invade the world and either tame or kill off some pokemon. And what if the paradox pokemon from violet (the future) are 'prototypes' were humans try with the idea "lets put their strengths to the test". Maybe these robotic ones will replace the real deal for many reasons (need smaller spaces, have more strength, better adapt dan their counterpart.) Its like the future is trying to overthrone nature, like humanity is overthrowing nature by poaching, hunting, deforestation, overfishing and poison.
My opinion on sandyshocks is that once it lost primal energy it gradually lost magnemite sections, finding it easier to keep a single magnemite afloat as well as making the larval form faster, thus more capable of evading predators. Modern Magnetons are explicitely three magnemites combined, so it could be that once three magnemite become strong enough to protect themselves, they purposefully merge to become exponentially stronger based on ancient instinct alone.
I love the idea that the Pokemon from the past had to adapt a baby form (explains they they are trash) but I feel more like the evolved forms (3rd) are an attempt to regain the primal energy strength without... The primal energy iteself
Also for breeding how cool if game freak added mechanical/primal eggs "a mysterious egg brimming with power" that would have to be in the party with a paradox Pokemon to let you "breed" them, would the eggs be tied to a specific location or something?
I feel like ancient Pokémon not being able to breed is just more keen on some wild species of animals in the real world like rhinos, being more comfortable to breed in the wild but when in captivity would show no signs of interest in breeding, simply due to the environment, which could be either area zero or their original world, and actually also the whole primal energy that was accessible at the point in time you mentioned, I also really like how they incorporate mega salamence into roaring moons design, it makes sense that when exposed to a new kind of energy that changes your physical appearance, instead of looking like a fourth evolution you would regain some traits you lost do to the ancient primal energy, also also, some people have mentioned that in the future Pokémon being extinct aligns with what rose said in the campaign in galar about a disaster that would come in the future, however id rather want it explained in the dlc as something else
Oooh... I have a theory about the Pardoxmon, specifically the future robotic Violet ones. What if those future Paradoxmon came about because, in that timeline, something horribly went wrong with the time machine and the past Paradoxmon had more or less caused the near extinction of nearly all Pokemon in that timeline or something. Thus the future Paradoxmon were created to replace them somehow and counter the past Paradoxmon.
What if Miraidon was based on Koraidon, and was only possible because Koraidon was brought into the present by the time machine? Sounds like a paradox to me; Violet only happens because Scarlet happened first, despite happening at the same time. Or more realistically Miraidon might be based on feral Cyclizar getting it's wild traits back over time or created using data on Koraidon from fossils or something.
I Like how your example with the giraffe can actual be seen over the last 20 years with the elephant. On how elephants today have smaller tusk due to the all the ones with the big tusk gene being over poached. Thus only the ones with the small tusk gene living on
“It resembles a certain Pokémon introduced in a paranormal magazine, described as the offspring of a Hydreigon that fell in love with a robot.” is the only thing that makes me think that the future ones aren’t like genesect
I think it is also possible that Cyclizar adapted to stop evolving into an adult form likely because of food or other resources limiations. We see things like this irl where large animals, like mammoths, evolve smaller body sizes on islands becuase of less food. Maybe something similar to Wyrdeer and Ursaluna from the time of Hisui to the present. I think it is also possible that future paradoxes are biological Pokemon that adapted to incorporate this now widespread metal resource into their bodies. I think the game also says the future is also filled with primal energy which can also explain this.
Coming up with an actual reason Paradox pokemon can't evolve/breed/have no gender is impressive, I just thought "They are lategame pokemon with op stats and insane abillities and if Screem tail/Flutter Mane/Sandy Shocks got evolutions they would be stronger than the box legendaries. Also I have a theory about how Protosynthisis works: All past Paradox pokemon have Dinosaur like qualites (Tails, claws, teeth/fangs, being large...) and Dinosaurs are cold blooded, meaning they nead to get their warmth from somewhere else, mainly, the Sun, so getting more energy would make them stronger. The funny thing is, only 2 past paradoxes are actully reptiles, and 2 others are a collection of magnets and a ghost, I'm pretty confident they don't have blood to begin with... If you're curious about quark drive, its as easy as "Robots eat Electricity, put Robot on Electric ground, Robot gets stronger because their more Electricty to eat."
Like someone said in the comment section: Based on what what is known so far it almost seems that "Paradox" Pokemon might be Modern pokemon that have been warped by some influence caused by the "Time Machine".
Magnemite is among the Arcueus pokemon displaced in the time/space distortions. It's possible a good number of them were taken to prehistory and adapted
the way i see it happening, miraidon could just be the future people tacking on extra features to their cyborg cyclizars as they ended up finding a koraidon fossil or two to learn of those cool abilities the species once had i mean if you learned your pet bike used to be able to swim at blistering speeds and literally fly you'd probably want those features too
My theory is similar but that these pokemon are specifically from the time before the impact that created Area Zero, making these exaggerated features similar to the extreme adaptations of Cretaceous dinosaurs prior to the Chicxulub impact that killed all non avian dinosaurs, and only left survivors that were much smaller and able to survive with less resources like you theorize. This could mean their contemporary counterparts with slightly different typing may end up being convergent evolutions rather than exact descendants, like we see already in Paldea with Wiglett and Toedscool.
As far as the future paradox forms go I think they reinforce the idea that paradox forms aren’t actually from another time but are instead normal Pokémon pulled and morphed using the scientists imaginations
Scary how much your character resembles mine, same hair color and style, same gender, same eye color. Although mine had freckles and was from Violet, but otherwise :D
I’ve noticed all the future Pokémon are forms of the fully evolved lines. Three of the past Pokémon are evolved Pokémon, but not fully evolved. All the non-evolved past Pokémon require stones to evolve in their present forms, so perhaps those stones simply didn’t exist at the time they roamed the earth. I know you touched on this already, but I found it very interesting. I like your theory on the gestation periods though. Seems to track to me.
btw. evolution is also random. The mutation might, or might not be beneficial. If it is, the animal might survive better and is more likely to mate and spread that mutation. Like with humans, we got bigger because women like tall men so they were the once to mate and spread the genes to be taller. It helped to be faster and stronger too.
all i have to say is that this video is great, and your evolution explanation was pretty spot on, tho i personally wished you played yourself as a Koala bear instead of a Tapir because Koalas are known to many biologists and scientists overall as "the worst animal to ever evolve" simply because they evolved in such a ridiculous matter that everything about them works more against them than being beneficial. a Tapir is a close second though and it did make me laugh that a Tapir would be the one to explain evolution XD
Maybe with sandy shocks, the humans harvested them so much to where they had to evolve into a smaller less detailed version. You could theorise this cause their hair are actually a very very rare and expansive chemical formation where a liquid naturally gets spikey and magnetic like the hair.
I think their "hair" aren't liquid but metal dust (it looks exactly like that when metal dust gets attached to magnets). but even then it would still fit in with your theory
I had a theory that for sandy shocks they probably just formed through metals found within the earth and maybe it was a coincidence that and maybe as sandy shocks slowly losing features and humans coming along they just adapted to human technology?
The lore presented in the game seems to suggest that none of the paradox pokemon actually came about naturally. They weren't pulled forward or backward in time, but rather, they were spontaneously created by the third legendary pokemon that has yet to be seen. This explains how Heath was able to see and interact with them 200 years before Sada or Turo were able to create the time machine to bring them to the present time.
Wouldn't Bagon disprove your theory of the larval stage thing? The Dex clearly states that it was Bagon's dream of flying that allows it to become Salamence. It would probably state something like the ancestral memory of flight or something if Salamence came before Bagon.
What if they arent past forms but instead just the forms of the pokemon that where just that form in their universe or what if they became like that after az shot his weapon and what if the future forms arent future but instead a universe where deoxys infected all the pokemon or where all the pokemon died from so many wars or disease so they turned them into androids
The future pokemon is interesting, I would imagine the world being a Cyberpunk-ish world where modifying the body is very common and possible the environment is too polluted and living being need to be turn into machine to survive. I believe Iron Valiant is the fusion of Gadevoir and Gallade, it have both Fairy and Fighting from both pokemon and exclude the fairy type\.
I imagine it like girafarig, back then girafarig didnt have an evoltuion but later on in the future (that would be now) girafarig got its new evolution farigiraf And then yeah future paradox pokemon being extinct But instead of them being cyborgs I wanna imagine theyre fossils werent able to be found or revived and people just made what they remembered of that pokemon making them just fully robots
paradox delibird is from the past tho even though it's called a future form, it looks similar to a pokemon built by a lost civilization or that's just bs in it's pokedex entries
Yeah I don't take those entries very seriously, they are obviously very dubious at best, although there may very well still be some truth hidden within them. It'd be very interesting to learn more about this ancient civilization if it's true
Well evolution also does some funny things. Sometimes its very random but nature and evolution has always favored survival over strength. But I don't think it was just a matter of gestation time and size shrinking. Like you gave with the giraffe example, something prompted or appeared that benefited the mon for survival. Lower egg time let the parents move with their brood quicker and baby mon, though generally weak and mostly defenseless, could actually move. And other factors led to the mon becoming what we know. Take Great Tusk to Donphan. Something required the species to become more mobile. It very well couldn't do that with the tusks in the way as well as the spikes on its back. So over time, as they shrunk in size, they got themselves a predator that they needed to out last and maneuver. Hence why they learned to curl into a ball shape and eventually learn to roll and then adapted to do that, resulting in the Donphan we have now.
Yeah I wasn't too into the idea at first, but the more I think on it, the more I like it. It certainly is interesting to think about
This was the theory I originally beleved before I read the scarlet and violet books now I'm conflicted on this and the imagined pokemon being actualized theory
nah, read the future paradoxes dex entry. Most are referred as objects and iron valiant dex entry say's that it is created by a mad scientist.
I agree either they did it to themselves or humans did it as a way to either act inhumanely or as a way to preserve them
There seems to be a floating theory that the Paradox Pokémon we see are the manifestations of Sada or Turo's imagination brought to life.
That sounds really cool!
I can't wait to see the third legendary and figure out these mysteries!
The book describes em before Sada was born. Maybe ai Sada in the past made em real... If the time machine is a time machine at all
@@jerbear8884 I like the aspect that even in a world of already magical and crazy looking creatures, they still have their own version of folklorish fantastical beings whose existence is unconfirmed.
I LOVE this theory and the concept of rushed egg hatching leading to earlier stage evolutions is brilliant! 😁
Thank you!!!
(not considering the pokedex entry.)
I really like this idea and I just don't see a lot of people give attention to it, it's pretty on the nose too!
I hadn’t considered they’d be brought back to fill in their niche, but that makes a lot of sense! I wonder what kind of niches they all filled?
All the future paradox mons except for miraidon are considered rare in the present. For how cyclizar could of gone extinct it's probably infighting as miraidon and koraidon both are territorial meaning that in future and past the species is prone to fighting.
the Tyranitar line has the very important niche of eating mountains
My theory on future paradox pokemon.
If you think about it since being tamed most pokemon spend their time in balls or in pc storage rather than in the open fields and wilderness.
The new future forms can be a reflection of that shedding their organic natures and embracing the digital to better adapt to their new environments. Think about all the pokemon trainers have essentially turned into computer code and have left stranded in cyber space
Oh I hadn’t even considered that! That’s super interesting to think about. Thanks for sharing!
everything is porygon in the future!
Was thinking along the lines of how Type Null was created since you see a bunch of them in test tubes in Sun and Moon
I like the idea that the professor didn't invent a time machine but a "dream come true god complex" Pokemon 3D Printer and the Book simply is the data the machine uses as blueprints
So basically they become like the bugs from the games bugsite
Yeah that does make a lot of sense!
It'd be kind of how in Hisui you couldn't breed Pokémon, because people were still too afraid of them
ON top of the Iron variants being made to replace certain pokemon (whether or not this is due to an ecological disaster of some sort, we'll likely never know), I think Iron Valiant may have been made for a specific purpose.
(I also am biased towards gen V, but Great Tusk, Donphan, and Iron Treads can be used to generate leads)
Slither Wing, to me, had wings to help it dissipate excess heat generation.
My theory of sandy shocks is that since timetravel is a thing, the researchers of area zero experimented on infusing primal energy into current day pokemon, but since they did not have enough power, they used electric pokemon to power the machine, causing a explosion that send a magneton back in time, causing the mutation known as sandy shocks
As for Iron valiant, this one is 100% made by some cultured person in the future
Big brain theory for the future paradox pokemon: They are not made by people, its the Pokemon themselves who just advanced to the point where they had to acknowledge that flesh is weak, that bones can break and that organic trainers are failable, so they replaced all of that to fight on a new peak.
They can evolve but their evolutions are most likely still in their own time and since very little is known about them
They probably haven’t been discovered yet
And in order to do so, they uplifted all known Pokémon species so they could continue working together until the end of time.
it’s stated in one of Mega Aerodactl’s dex entries that many people believe mega Aerodactl to be the true original form of Aerodactl
and I theorize that Sandy Shocks isn’t an ancestor of the Magnemite line, but an evolution to fit into it’s era
due to the time rifts found in ancient Sinnoh, many Magnetons were captured and kept in the fields by the people there, eventually, these people died/left behind their Magnetons and other Pokémon, the Magnetons left their new homes and eventually found themselves in ancient Paldea, which was full of ancient Pokémon like Great Tusk or Scream Tail, and didn’t have any technology these Magnetons were used to, so they had to evolve to fit into the area, eventually collecting magnetic sand on their bodies and becoming more bendy and “alive” then rigid and mechanical
then these evolutions disappeared along with the rest of the past paradoxes
this would probably make Sandy Shocks the paradox of paradoxes
Loved the video! Hope to see you gain way more than 192 subscribers!
Fun fact, food likely wasn't the main driver for a giraffes long neck, since they prefer to eat leaves lower on a tree. The main driver was sexual competition. Long necks were more effective weapons.
Something I wished you had talked about, but I think you may not have come across if you only played Scarlet -
The Violet book mentions that Heath came across Pokémon that resemble the Paradox Pokémon when he went exploring in Area Zero some 200 years prior to the events of the game.
Something like this:
ruclips.net/video/3f976NjiXqo/видео.html

Past paradox Pokémon are like the new fossils Pokémon like how t rex become chicken
But aside from that, Porygon is a wholly artificial Pokemon, and that just works... somehow
I love your theory about why they can't breed, that makes a ton of sense!
I'm just surprised on this video and u don't have alot of subscriber u should have 50,000 subs by now
Paradox is when something isn't supposed to happen.
The time distortion brought modern pokemon to a time that was only a few hundred years ago I think these paradox pokemon are a lot older than that
Great video, but I’m personally not a fan of the justification of why we don’t see pre-evolved forms of the Ancient Pokémon.
I LOVE this theory!
A sort of false god Pokémon is such a fascinating idea
For me what's funny is that the pseudo legendary paradox mons are weaker than their modern day versions and mega Aerodactyl is said to be the true ancient form of it
Nice. I do like the imagination theory more though.
great video! I was surprised to see that you had such few subs so i went ahead and did my part
I wonder if they'd bring the legends arceus pokemon in and label them as paradox too. Well probably not likely but it's interesting that they're also from the past and also have exaggerated designs, but not to the intensity of the prehistoric ones
For me the paradox Pokémon are distant relatives to old Pokémon
Ancient paradox Pokémon: ancestors to them
Future updates paradox Pokémon: roboticized decendants of old Pokémon
I hope I see not only new original species of Pokémon and convergent species of Pokémon, but also more paradox Pokémon or even imagination made Pokémon in the future generations of Pokémon games
YESSSS UBs are still my favorite of the “special” Pokémon! I would love to see more
@@fierymew Yep!
For sandy shocks my guess is that it used to look like a regular Pokémon but adapted to being exposed to some sort of ancient form of metal
Sort of like Pokémon’s version of vibranium and then overtime became sandy shocks and then the magnemite line
The metal could have come from space explaining why magnezone resembles a UFO
I think they all just overtime just became cyborgs down the line without going extinct maybe endangered or a way to keep them from being endangered
Or just a way to advance evolution in a selfish way
I'm kind of amused by the idea that the past Pokemon are often not in their final forms but don't evolve because they literally haven't evolved yet
You just explained evolution easier than any of my HS, college, & medical school biology professors ever could.
I think the reason that donphan has less features then great tusk is so that it could roll easier.
I hadn't actually looked at the shiny forms until now, it's so cool they're just unpainted models!

Mega Aerodactyl's pokedex entry actually confirms this, saying it's how it looked a long time ago
It said that a hydreigon fell in love with a robot
I find it odd that Brute Bonnet has the PokeBall design on it.
What if the speculated third legendary is a current Cyclizar evolution?
Also what if mega energy is just a slightly different form of primal energy (or the modern Pokemon versions)
Also for breeding how cool if game freak added mechanical/primal eggs "a mysterious egg brimming with power" that would have to be in the party with a paradox Pokemon to let you "breed" them, would the eggs be tied to a specific location or something?
i think with sandy shocks one magnemite decided to split of from the other two because its easeair to escape prey then evolved over time
I feel like ancient Pokémon not being able to breed is just more keen on some wild species of animals in the real world like rhinos, being more comfortable to breed in the wild but when in captivity would show no signs of interest in breeding, simply due to the environment, which could be either area zero or their original world, and actually also the whole primal energy that was accessible at the point in time you mentioned, I also really like how they incorporate mega salamence into roaring moons design, it makes sense that when exposed to a new kind of energy that changes your physical appearance, instead of looking like a fourth evolution you would regain some traits you lost do to the ancient primal energy, also also, some people have mentioned that in the future Pokémon being extinct aligns with what rose said in the campaign in galar about a disaster that would come in the future, however id rather want it explained in the dlc as something else
That's a super interesting angle!
Thus only the ones with the small tusk gene living on
The Paradox Pokemon are a neat concept. I hope that future games revisit old gimmicks.
Yeah! And there's definitely a ton of room for old gimmicks to be explored further, I feel.
“It resembles a certain Pokémon introduced in a paranormal magazine, described as the offspring of a Hydreigon that fell in love with a robot.” is the only thing that makes me think that the future ones aren’t like genesect
But hey, that's just a theory, A pretty neat one that's pretty nicely edited! Never played this game but I didn't mind lol. Good stuff!
Ayyyyyyy thanks! Can’t believe you’d spoil yourself on the game though. Smh
I wish they brought mega evos back
I think it is also possible that Cyclizar adapted to stop evolving into an adult form likely because of food or other resources limiations.
Awesome quality! Got a new sub 😇 I bet you’ll be huge next year
Thank you so much!
Awesome theories!
Like someone said in the comment section:
Based on what what is known so far it almost seems that "Paradox" Pokemon might be Modern pokemon that have been warped by some influence caused by the "Time Machine".
Magnemite is among the Arcueus pokemon displaced in the time/space distortions. It's possible a good number of them were taken to prehistory and adapted
the way i see it happening, miraidon could just be the future people tacking on extra features to their cyborg cyclizars as they ended up finding a koraidon fossil or two to learn of those cool abilities the species once had
i mean if you learned your pet bike used to be able to swim at blistering speeds and literally fly you'd probably want those features too
My theory is similar but that these pokemon are specifically from the time before the impact that created Area Zero, making these exaggerated features similar to the extreme adaptations of Cretaceous dinosaurs prior to the Chicxulub impact that killed all non avian dinosaurs, and only left survivors that were much smaller and able to survive with less resources like you theorize. This could mean their contemporary counterparts with slightly different typing may end up being convergent evolutions rather than exact descendants, like we see already in Paldea with Wiglett and Toedscool.
My theroy is that the paradox aren't from the past or future but are from an alien planet.
Underated channel ngl
I had a theory that for sandy shocks they probably just formed through metals found within the earth and maybe it was a coincidence that and maybe as sandy shocks slowly losing features and humans coming along they just adapted to human technology?
or the other evolutions of pokemon just arent available in the game, i find it hard to belive salimence came out of the egg like that
The lore presented in the game seems to suggest that none of the paradox pokemon actually came about naturally. They weren't pulled forward or backward in time, but rather, they were spontaneously created by the third legendary pokemon that has yet to be seen. This explains how Heath was able to see and interact with them 200 years before Sada or Turo were able to create the time machine to bring them to the present time.
In theory, this would mean Cyclizar could be capable of mega evolution. I wonder if Game Freak will use that.
paradox Pokémon theory dream becomes to life.
Wouldn't Bagon disprove your theory of the larval stage thing? The Dex clearly states that it was Bagon's dream of flying that allows it to become Salamence. It would probably state something like the ancestral memory of flight or something if Salamence came before Bagon.
I kind of wish in the DLC u can turn regular salamence into roaring moon
I wonder how that would work? Would be pretty cool to see
I am new here and your voice is soothing also great theory
I imagine it like girafarig, back then girafarig didnt have an evoltuion but later on in the future (that would be now) girafarig got its new evolution farigiraf
And then yeah future paradox pokemon being extinct
But instead of them being cyborgs I wanna imagine theyre fossils werent able to be found or revived and people just made what they remembered of that pokemon making them just fully robots
paradox delibird is from the past tho even though it's called a future form, it looks similar to a pokemon built by a lost civilization or that's just bs in it's pokedex entries
Yeah I don't take those entries very seriously, they are obviously very dubious at best, although there may very well still be some truth hidden within them.
It'd be very interesting to learn more about this ancient civilization if it's true
My personal theory I that Miraidon is a Cyclizar but scientists attempted to cybernetically recreate the power of Koraidon
Theory: Miridon is a machine made to replicate cyclizar, but better
Now i wanna see a green Koraidon
Hence why they learned to curl into a ball shape and eventually learn to roll and then adapted to do that, resulting in the Donphan we have now.
for one second i thought you were gonna believe in lamarck's theory phew
