Thanks for watching. Anja xx
You're video was the best I watched! This square has been so frustrating. I've watched several videos and had given up. I found yours today and SUCCESS! Thank you so much!
I’m so happy to have found this! I have one and a half granny squares my deceased grandmother crocheted and I wanted to make these squares into a blanket. Your pattern looks JUST like the ones she crocheted, so I’ll use this video to make more squares ❤
I am making a boho bag. Your squares are perfect. Thank you
So pretty very different I'm going to make a balaclava for the Winter in this design very unique
Thank you for sharing such an easy tutorial 👏🏾🥰😊
So amazing so amazing I’m thinking I’m going to do this in a burgundy for roll Tide
Beautiful pattern and colors. Thank you for easy to follow along tutorial. 🌹
I'm glad you like it Ada, you're welcome, Anja x
I have an antique crochet pattern book. This square is the Afghan Square. Nice tutorial.
I really like this version of a granny square.
Thank you for the easy follow along ....already made a few.
That's great news, thank you Anasuya, glad you enjoyed the project, Anja x
Good morning it’s 9 o’clock in Fontana California I have been watching six of your beautiful videos and I love the way you describe all of them thank you very much I’m a new crocheters so I’m learning a lot from you and how to make a grand score thank you thank you God bless you and good morning again
Thank you this is lovely, have just completed a square, you are a good teacher
You’re welcome 😊 Thank you for watching Rosaleen Miller ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
This solid granny square has a different look and I like it! It's not the run-of-the-mill solid granny square that is normally done. Thank you for sharing,
I made it.. looks so gorgeous.. Thank you for sharing
So pretty square. Thanks for sharing
Love this one!
Love the design😍😍
Can't wait to try this❤️
Hope you like it! Thank you Reina! Anja x
You are a star!
Thank you Alina, Anja x
I love doing squares. This one is so pretty. Thanks.
@Barbara Gillispie, I do too! I've only been crocheting for about a year now and I've never made a granny square blanket!! 😂 But now that I've started, I can't stop making the squares! It's so weird but I think I'm addicted to it. As soon as I wake up, I always have to put my hook through some yarn.... Doesn't matter what it is.. how weird is that? I do it before I even have my coffee.. lol. I swear I don't even know how many squares I have - it all started with this CAL that started at the end of January. We're supposed to crochet 4 squares per month from January to December. I think I'm clear down to October by now.. 😂😂💜🌼💜
Thank you Anya for the video I made my first square, however felt you were too fast for me and had to slow the video.
If anyone feels the same this is what you can do. Lightly tap on the video, and you will notice 3 dots in the corner, tap that and you will get a menu choose playback speed, and choose any of the option above “normal” which should slow the video down.
Hope this helps, happy crocheting!
Thank you for watching TheSewist ! Anja xxx 💕🌈 Thanks for the tip, very useful ❤
Ohh i will try that to because it was to fast for me to 😊thanks
Agreed - far too fast - ended up ripping it out a fair few times before I found the slow speed function. Thanks
Thank you for sharing, very useful ❤️
Pretty patterns i love
Hi so.glad l found this it is lovely as want to. Do. A. Blanket for charity l love the stitch thanks very much for sharing happy crochet day from lreland 🐶🐶
This is a lovely square, very similar to the Wisteria square in 200 crochet block book.
I do love that tutorial, will definitely try it!! 💖
Yay! Thank you! Thank you for watching Ste Ema ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
So pretty! Creative. I will try this unique style. Your so gentle explaining calmly. Wow, makes a perfect blanket. Appreciate your video.
MUCH APPRECIATED FOR YOUR QUICK RESPONSE. THAN YOU
Glad it was helpful. 😘
I like it😀
Thank you very much Leila, Anja x
Love this granny square, can I continue this pattern and make a blanket adding more stitches every row ?
Yes, you just keep going around following the same system Lucy, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks Thank you so much.x
Anja, I’ve recently learned to crochet and absolutely love your videos. I have just completed a 64 sunburst square blanket and used your join method from the ‘English Rose’ blanket and am delighted with the results. I really like this perfect square and am wondering if you can make suggestions on how I can join them together to make a blanket?
Try this, it's easy but effective, Anja x

What a fabulous tutorial. Thank you so much. I’m definitely going to give this a go.
Q: what is the thickness of your yarn please?
You’re welcome Karen 😊, I use DK, which is a 3 weight yarn, Anja x
Perfect. Thank you for responding xx
What a pretty granny square, I will definitely be doing some. Just subscribed so I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming in the future. Thank you x
this is great! Thank you for another great tutorial 💙
You're so welcome! Thank you for watching kimberly lynette ! Anja xxx 💕🌈
I searched for the project and I couldn’t find it. Can you provide a link? Thanks I was under the impression we were getting a sneak peek at the end.
Great colors and pattern! What became of the 5 squares?
Love this square, is there a video on how to join them together?

@@OpheliaTalks thank you... what an adorable bag!!!
very nice square...can you please link me the project you made with them? thank you!
Hi Anja, Fabulous Tutorial, tried another similar one on YT yesterday and it was not fit for purpose, so thank you, and keep up the great work!! Joan.xx
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching my video Joan Margaret Wells and keep crocheting. Anja xxx💕🌈💕
How would we join these squares. I tried to find a tutorial, perhaps I miss it. Ty for teaching this so very well done. I do like the chain two to begin.
I want to know how u put block together
can this be joined using the join as you go method?
Beautiful! I'm wondering if you can just continue the square until it's the size of a small throw?
Yes you can! You can continue for as long as you desire to reach the size you need, just follow the same system, Anja x
That is so pretty, but a bit confusing. I guess I have to teally practice with the double crochets and the other double crochets.
Confusing for me to 🤔
Hello, this granny square is beautiful. Please can you tell me if there are any written instructions for this?
Did anyone ever find a written pattern?? I've used a few of this channels patterns and had to had write them myself but this one seems like a headache to do
Edit: so I wrote out a physical copy of the pattern but idk how to type what I've written. If anyone wants a picture of the version I wrote, I can figure out a way to send it 🥺🥺
You can see the transcript and it has 'instructions'. Click on the DOWN arrow to right of How to Crochet... and scroll down to SHOW TRANSCRIPT
I like
is there a link to the written pattern?
Wow this is really beautiful ❤️
I also want to try to do it but with the 'hexagon' version
Can you do a tutorial on that too?
I will put it on my ever increasing list of projects to design, keep watching, and thank you Anja x
I would LOVE to see a hexagon version of this as well!!! Please 🙏
Hi, i keep on doing this thing but its not clean. You will see the lines every time i connect to the next stich. do have tuitorials on how to connect it with out seing the lines? pls rply i need it badly. thank you🙏
Hi, my only suggestion is practice, practice and more practice, it's one of those things that comes with experience, Anja x
@@OpheliaTalks yes, indeed, i'v been doing it for many orders already but the lines are always present😭 it's ugly. Ma'm, if you dnt mind, pls do vdeo tutorials on how to make a perfect one. there are countless vdeos tutorials on how to remove the lines but its a different one on this kind of square. pls help me. thank you so much
The way she does it so fast is beyond me 😭
Sorry if it's too fast for you. You can always replay it again and again...
Thank you for your clear instructions. Have you used ergonomic crochet hooks like Tulip etimo or Clover? They are very comfortable than the Susan Bates (in my opinion.)
Lovely pattern I will try again to follow your tutorial
Hi there..
I LOVE THIS GRANNY SQUARE SO MUCH.. ITS DEFINITELY BEAUTIFUL.
May I ask if you can makea video or help me do it like the center and the petals has different color than the sides??? So that the colors of the center and petals pops out?? Please..
All you have to do is change color at whichever row you would like the change to start simply slip stitch at the end of a row then use a slip knot to attach the next color
It's really easy. You just tie in the ends when you're done
Hi Anya I love your work specially he heart. Please tell me how to prevent pain on hand and thumb, I gather you must apent a lot of time crouching. Thank you
It might be your technique. Have a look at my crochet stitch tutorials on this channel. I made these videos very slow and up close so that they are easy to follow. Improving your stitch technique will release a lot of pressure from your hand and fingers. Hope I can help you this way. Thank you for watching. ❤
I am using this pattern to make a blanket! However the holes in the middle of the square keeps getting bigger with every square i make, what is the best way to fix that and make it a bit tighter in the middle? Thanks for the great tutorial
When you go to hide your beginning loose yarn, use a needle to thread it around the middle circle and pull. After this you will need to go around a little further and then double backwards for a round.
I was looking for this pattern, Anja. I wanted to do the circular section different colours, and the rest, all duck egg. Many Thanks Amanda x😊
I am glad I could be of assistance!! LOL xxx enjoy!
Could this be made in a hexagon for a hexi cardi???!?
Yes, just start with 5 corners instead of 4, Anja x
I am currently making my first granny square blanket. I am using the solid granny squares. I am using a #4 meduim worsted weight yarn (Aran) with a 4mm hook. #OpheliaTalks Anja, can you please tell me how many inches across these are? For my blanket, my squares are 6 inches x 6 inches. Thank you. I love your videos. I've just started your tissue case tutorial. I think the colors you picked are lovely together.
yes, that would be about the right size for the granny squares! xxx
@@OpheliaTalks Thank you xx
Hi. Can you if you will please. Do mini triangles? I would like to learn how. So maybe in the future I could make a design blanket. I appreciate it. Thank you.
i have a video on triangles, you'll have to scroll down to find it! thanks for watching! xxx
Ophelia Talks
Welcome.😊
I'd love to win the Hiya Hiya hooks.
Would it be possible to post the written pattern to follow along??
No, sorry Ann, the video is the pattern, Anja x
Do you have printed patterns to go with your wonderful tutorials?
I do have for some of them but only when the crochet project is my own design. You can download them from Ravelry. see link in description.
It is very pretty but the corners are 3 half double crochet I'm not sure the exact term but when you dont finish a double crochet it's very confusing to call it a double crochet
I always call them petal stitches because of the end making it tie up in the shape of a petal
Hi, this is Beautiful. How do you join these solid squares?
I join them with SC .... there is a video for that! I turn them into a bag, and that shows you how I join them! Thanks for watching! xxx
Thanks a bunch.🤗
@@OpheliaTalks where do find it
@@OpheliaTalks Where is the video to make the bag? I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks!
your introduction music is way too loud compared to your voice but I love your blogs.
thanks for leaving out the music. this tut was great.
P.s did u say your name was Anya? X
Lynn Winter yes indeed my name is Anja! Ophelia is my ‘screen’ name!
Ophelia Talks I thought u said it was. We named our second daughter Anya ( different spelling to yours) because we loved it so much, that was 32 years ago x

Not sure I understand your comment?
It's a bit too quick for me to follow.
I’m no authority but I believe YT videos can be slowed down.
When the picture is enlarged you hit the 3 verticals dots & there is the option of slowing the speed of the video.
Can't hear you, 🇬🇧,
You're going too fast for me :(
You can slow down the video, that’s what I did!
Too fast can’t follow very good
You can slow down the video or watch it again or pause it!!
sound evey bad so canr follow
I'm not sure what problem you're having Jenni, I have just watched the video and the sound is fine! Anja x
