How's this for a Spider-Man show pitch? Spider-Man: Responsibilities! It may sound educational, but it breaks down Spidey's drive; he's responsible for protecting his home, saving his friends and family from trouble, teaching other spider-heroes like him; that's what makes him Amazing to me!
Yet again, my ideal Sinister Six would be: 1.Green Goblin (Doesn’t have to be the leader of the team). 2.Doctor Octopus. 3.Sandman. 4.Electro. 5.Rhino (can be fought before or after The Green Gobby if first fought. Your suggestion to have Spider-Man fight the Rhino at the beginning of the show is great). 6.Vulture. As for other stuff I would do: Make Black Cat a morally grey character or even outright villain that’s relatively benign that gradually becomes more heroic figure, to a certain point, Kraven and Mr. Negative aiding and/or taking on the Sinister Six, the Prowler and Shocker working together, probably also working with Vulture. Let Peter have both MJ and Gwen Stacy, but let him settle on one in the end; don’t make him a cheater. Chameleon does his own thing. Have Swarm and the aforementioned Negative be heinous villains. Maybe have The Avengers help from time to time. Keep the time traveling and multiverse stuff pretty limited. I wouldn’t mind a Batman crossover episode, or even up to a few. A version of Miles gets teleported to the show when he was way younger, or is already from the universe of the show. Introduce Venom after Season 1, maybe have Carnage or even Galactus be the final boss of the show. Have Hobgoblin usurp, be a rival to, take up the legacy of, or even aid Green Goblin. Have Big Wheel to laugh at himself and others. Introduce The Wall, introduce Silk and Spider-Woman. Make a few new villains here and there. Crap, you can even introduce original and new intersex characters, not just make and female characters, and also transgender characters. Oh, and Kingpin, Tombstone, and Hammerhead can work as a team and/or rival/turn on each other, why not? Maybe even have a Gangland-like episode that’s a 3+ way fight. Introduce Silvio Manfredi and Silver Sable. Molten Man and Hydro Man can come in the mix, and have Shocker work with Ricochet and Ox. Like, you can combine elements from the 90’s show, MCU, Spider-Verse, and Spectacular Spider-Man. Hell, you can even make Harry Osborn a second Antivenom if Venom returns as normal to Eddie. Have Spider-Man, the other Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Silk, and Venom (and probably also Antivenom Harry) work as a team to some extent. Maybe even have Daredevil and The Punisher work together. You can have the show end semi-open ended yet still fairly book ended with either a retired or older and wiser Spider-Man. 8:28 Funnily enough, Raimi’s Spider-Man movies aren’t guilty of this.

If I had a nickel everytime a Spider-Man media includes a Filipino-American character, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's crazy that it happened twice.
If I had a nickel for every time a Spider-Man actor says something to get canceled right before the content comes out, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s effed up that it happened twice.
My pitch for a Spider-Man show is Peter and MJ as teachers at Midtown High. Peter is the science teacher, and MJ is the drama teacher. Miles and maybe even Cindy are their students (though just Miles work well enough).
Holy crap, I didn’t even think about that! She’s been an actress in the comics, so of course she would teach a drama class! That makes so much sense! 😮
I love that on josh keatons youtube channel. He and zeno robinson are voice acting comic panels as peter and miles and even the other spectacular actors appear to reprise their roles
Honestly, I'd rather have a bit more time, at least wait until Ziglar's run on Miles is over. This current one is the first Miles run I'd really consider an all-timer, right now my appreciation for him is basically exclusively from this current run and Spider-Verse, and I'd rather we have a few more excellent writers on him (I can't stand Brian Michael Bendis's writing I'm sorry) before we get into the adaptations. All added up, Miles was created only a bit over a decade ago and hasn't had that many different writers and iconic storylines, especially compared to Peter when he got his first proper show. I wouldn't be against a MIles show I'd just rather it waited until we got some more excellent Miles comics
Honestly, my ideas for a series are about the same. A Batman Beyond-esque series where Peter retired after Gwen's death and has settled down with MJ but ends up mentoring Miles and eventually works through his mental block and suits back up as Spider-man to fight a new Sinister Six.
I see Friendly Neighborhood as the Spider-Man equivalent to Transformers Animated. Both shows take a lot of liberties with the story but still showcase what makes the main protagonists great. Spider-Man's origin is a little different due to the magic spider thing and Paker's personal life being different. Even still, Spider-Man is still someone who cares deeply about the community he protects even if he's a newbie at the whole superhero thing and cause some property damage. Likewise, Optimus Prime's story takes place after the War for Cybertron and isn't the leader of all of the Autobots. However, he's still a cool dude who genuinely wants to protect people and be a good leader
If I could do a Spider-Man show of my own - Give us the Fantastic Four and his friendship with Jonny - Have a WHOLE season about the black suit and its slow corruption - Have Harry become the Hob Goblin instead of the green goblin, as his attempt to be a different but better version of his father that still falls in the violence and insanity - Have him be in college and then be a teacher for midtown (of course in the mean time have him work at the bugle)
I have an idea for a series called “My Life as Spider-Man”. It’s basically Life Story with each season focusing on each stage of Peter’s life (teen, young adult, middle age, etc.) and then halfway through it’d switch to Miles and follow each stage of his life. Also each season’s art style would change to reflect the comics of that decade. We could see Peter’s family and his relationships with other heroes that he’s met over the years (F4, Wolverine, Daredevil, Captain America etc.) P.S. the Peter and Miles series’ sounds really cool. I actually have a theory that they’re going to introduce Miles through YFNSM and put him in the MCU when Secret Wars happens
I actually had an idea for a scarlet spider cartoon, it take place 5 years later, after Ben’s journey, he’s have no memory of his old life and would live in the west coast until the clone saga begins, with him becoming spider man in the final season
about six months ago, I started writing my own Spider-Man show. it just ever so happened that I based it heavily on the JMS run. we really need an official mainstream version of the character who is a high school teacher.
Fun Fact!!! Ive always wanted to make my own animated Spider-man show but I dont have the budget or the time. So I started to make comics using the same storyline that I imagined for the show!!! Wish me luck as I complete the series!
12:27 I’m still so confused why people keep going on about that, like we can have two Captain America’s, two Flashes, a whole galactic police force of Green Lanterns, all with the same names and nobody bats an eye but Marvel has the GALL to let Miles rightfully be called Spider-Man at the same time as Peter and THAT’S where people draw the line? 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah, NO. I'm going to have to disagree with the "Miles and Peter Team-Up". Every time these 2 are on screen, Miles always gets relegated to a SIDEKICK to Peter. Happened in the Spider-Man 2 game, and it's currently happening in the "Spetacular Spider-Men" comic. And considering the work writers have put into giving him his OWN supporting cast and rogues gallery, the LAST thing I want is another adaptation that has Miles dealing with Peter's stories, characters and villains. It's better if it's a Miles-only show (preferably with Peter either retired or dead).
@Tb1025 The plot still revolves around Peter, HIS supporting cast and HIS villains. Miles gets small SUBplot (emphasis on "sub") with Mr. Negative (Peter's villain. Not his), while his supporting cast become irrelevant and none of his original villains are so much as mentioned. Him being "capable" is the BARE MINIMUM.
@ fair enough I don’t think constant cross overs are as good as everything thinks because one character always suffers. In this case it’s miles because he is a new character.
@Tb1025 exactly. That's why I prefer, if there's to be a future SM show, to either focus solely on him or not includ him at all (at best, maybe a cameo).
You cooked with the idea of a Spectacular Spider-Men show being a spiritual “Spectacular Season 3”. Have Greg Weisman write, get Josh Keaton and the res of the cast to reprise their roles, watch Disney+ ratings explode.
I made a pitch a while back called Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane about an older Peter teaching school and raising his daughter Mayday. Season 1 was Doc Ock and a new Sinister Six mixing Peter’s old enemies like Electro and Vulture and newer villains like Mr. Negative, Tiana Toomes and Hobgoblin. Characters like Ben Reilly and Miles Morales were involved. Miles was in his college era as a sort of cool older brother who gets her into trouble, Ben was her uncle. Season 2 had Mayday secretly getting the symbiote and going behind Peter’s back with Kaine Parker to take down the Kingpin’s operations, leading to her uncle Ben Reilly’s death at Kingpin’s hands
7:28 I think the main reason motion comics aren’t done as often even tho they would be great for the medium is because their investment is still vastly more expensive than an audiobook. You have to pay for the voice acting and while the animation is certainly easier than an animated series we’re still talking about transitions that have to be animated at 1-5 fps every few seconds which requires hiring artists to do that. So it would still cost like millions of dollars just for a single run of a major superhero
I've always hoped Shultz' Shocker would get more of a spotlight like he got in superior foes. A genuinely smart criminal who's just trying to support himself in a world overrun by superheroes. I never figured he was evil, he just takes advantage of his situation and sees the supervillain thing as a gig.
Yeah I feel all the Spider-Man cartoons being so focused on Peter as a high school student has become a limiting factor to what those series can be. Having one focused on an adult Peter or Miles would be a delightful breath of fresh air.
Why not a full on miles show I’ve always liked the idea that rather than rebooting the character for each new show, you let the new writers go with a new character to take up the mantle as a kid again. It prob be the healthiest way to recycle old ideas while still keeping them new due to different teams having different visions.
imagine if in the spider-man sections worked like ladybug and cat noir where they don’t know who each other are despite how often their interim and out of costume.
I get wanting to adapt media that doesn’t get a lot of content. Like Invincible gets the pass to be adapted to the letter because they only have one attempt to tell the story. But something like Spider-Man gets media on a yearly basis with several continuities to follow. So I don’t mind that them taking liberties with the source material because its got several opportunities to have adapt source material closely or okay with it a bit. Besides I prefer when a product is different from what I’ve seen before. Mainly because it means I don’t feel like I’m being talked down to about what I’ve already seen. Those live action HTTYD movie trailers are offending me with how little seems to be changed.
Personally I’d want a more episodic show with a married Peter and a young Mayday as he learns how to balance being a father and Spider-Man, not only raiding Mayday but also taking Miles under his wing
If I was in charge of doing a Spider-Man animated series with full creative freedom i would do a Smallville style TV show showing Peter's life from the early beginnings to adulthood showing all the parts of his life and taking inspirations from all the eras of Spider-Man. Season 1-2: High School years. Inspired by the Lee-Ditko time with some of Romita Sr. Season 3-6: College years. Gwen Stacy death happens at the end of Season 3 and MJ and Peter becomes a couple in Season 4. This is a more darker and mature taking inspirations from the 80s and 90s comics (Last Hunt, Venom, Clone Saga, Harry Osborn becomes Green Goblin etc.) Season 8-10: Adulthood years. Peter is now a fully realized hero and start teaching at Midtown high as a professor and start training Miles plus also start thinking to propose to MJ. Spider-Verse is the big endgame event as he fights to save New York and the Multiverse from Morlun and in the end he's able to save everyone, he retires and gives the mantle to Miles and becomes the new Sepctacular Spider-Man
Does anyone else feel weird that this show takes a character with albinism - albeit, creepy fantastical albinism - and reinterprets him as… Well, as not having albinism? …No? Just me then, I suppose; huh.
Honestly my ideal spider-man show is a story following him from high school to college than him passing down the torch. Like each season focusing on a different year of school for him. Ik it’s nvr gonna happen and Peter in school is kinda overdone but I’ve always taught this would be a great concept for a show.
I have to say Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is literally the MOST woke I have seen any Spider-Man ever be and I have no idea what Hudson Thames is on about
I definitely enjoy this set up for a Spiderman show. I think the way I'd do it is a Cowboy Bebop esque/Bat-Family type situation where Peter is thinking of retirement and doesn't want to tear his family apart but can't give up this responsibility. But he ends up running into Miles, Cindy Moon, Spider-Gwen from another dimension and maybe even pulling in silly dumb creations of recent times like Rekrap and the Spider Kid (maybe can even be his son) as concepts so that Peter has essentially his own little Spider family over the course of the seasons. Ending the series with a new wave of heroes and Peter finally being able to feel free to enjoy the rest of his life. Maybe visiting the graves of both Ben and May one last time with his family and Spider family to finally be at peace. And I think it'd be great because Miles can have those Peter high school adventures, Peter a little bit but doing more serious stuff. Can deal with stories of being an outcast/transfer student with Cindy. Gwen in between dimensions not knowing who or what she truly wants to be, maybe her universe is gone and this is the only family she has. Kinda of a lost child/orphan story. Can have a lot of fun with Miles and Peter and other silly and fun concepts that would be really interesting. But also pull in some genuine adult and kinda dark themes with various Spider People arcs and everyone learning their place in this world and what it means to have these powers and responsibility. Over time it proving/helping Peter not only become a better teacher but better dad.
I'd basically make like a stern/defalco era Spider-Man. In his mid 20s, dealing with that post college struggle that a lot of adults may have as they are just out there in the world without that structure, just trying to make it. I think that era with him dating black cat, dealing with new villains like the hobgoblin, the rose & the puma would give it that unique twist. Being a young adult comes with new stress, changing priorities, friends in all different stages of life
I had a similar idea awhile ago, divide episodes into A & B segments with A segments being young Peter encountering classic villains for the first time while the B segments are Miles being mentored by older Peter and fighting new versions of the villains. With some episodes being full-legth every now and again to develop more complex plots. I think it'd be real fun to play with that formula as well to have an older Miguel go back in time and encounter young Peter in the A segment, only to then reveal in the B segment when Miguel was younger he travelled back in time and met the older Peter & Miles.
My admittedly simple pitch is a Miles series where he's in college and worried that he can't live up to the legacy of Peter Parker after his death.(The circumstances behind Miles origin and Peter's death would be similar to the original ultimate universe.) The first season would be focused on Miles and his uncle Aaron as they are fighting the original Prowler Hobie Brown. He would be the main overall villain and it deals with the themes of legacy and mantles. I would call it something like Spider-Man Black and Red, since Ultimate Spider-Man's name was taken by a different show which I plainly don't like (for those who do, I'm glad you like it).
My ideal spider man show would he ine where Peter is jsut starting college and trying to figure things out. I'd also make it mature like the mtv show and have it have this neon aesthetic
12:00 I just think it’s weird, thinking from a civilian’s perspective. Imagine being a rando on the street, talking with your buddy about how spider-man threw shocker through your window and you have this weird, awkward exchange, explaining which one it was.
I think one of the best ways to make a new Spider-Man cartoon interesting is to have Uncle Ben be alive instead of Aunt May. The dynamic between him and Peter is very underutilized, outside of the latter's hero origins, so it'll be interesting to see Uncle Ben be used outside of that lens.
If I got to make my own Spider-Man show, my main change would be: Uncle Ben's Death. Everything about it. First, it happens at least as far back as Episode 12, giving us a lot of time to learn who he is, as well as his dynamics with different characters. (May, Harry, Ned, Flash, etc) Next, before it happens, he finds out that Peter's Spider-Man. And finally, his death happens because Peter was too distracted saving people to stop the villain, and teaches Peter something important: If he keeps trying to do this alone, people WILL get hurt. It wouldn't lead to him being an Avenger, or the Future Foundation, or anything, but instead, having a small team of street level heroes. It would essentially reverse the trend of modern Spider-Man media skipping over Uncle Ben. I'm not just skipping his 5 minutes, I'm extending it to 5 hours. . I would also skip out on the College Years, if the show went on long enough for Peter to reach adulthood. Instead, I would have Peter work for Tony Stark. Not as an Avenger, though, that'd be dumb. In the Stark Industries R&D department. A job where his boss gives him permission to leave, at any time, for any reason, no questions asked. Where he'd have full access to a top of the line laboratory, and any Stark Industries prototypes he wants. . Question: What do civilians call Peter and Miles as Spider-Man, to differentiate them? What do the people they're working with call them? That's the real problem with Spider-Man and Spider-Man. Green Lanterns are essentially Cops. It's the equivalent of Officer. You can't compare a title to a name. Barry and Wally, Clint and Kate, and Peter and Miles need to have different names if they're going to operate at the same time for more than a week.
By "woke" he meant progressive ideas for the sake of profit, and by saying that the show wasn't "woke" it means that the creators actually understand and explore the themes presented, as you'll come to find out if you actually read the interview. For example, something like rainbow capitalism would be "woke", not because it's queer, but because it uses our marginalization for the sake of profit, and not to actually make the world a better place. (I hope that clears things up)
While I was initially hesitant about the animation from the trailers for the new show, watching the show allowed the animation to truly grow on me even, despite a few nitpicks here and there. So far this show is off to a really enjoyable, solid start with how it's doing its own thing with the character and adapting elements of Spiderman's mythos in a new way and changing things to do something new with he character, kinda like My Adventures With Superman or Batman: Caped Crusader is doing its own thing with those characters but still make sure to keep the core values and characterisations of these iconic heroes faithfully with so much passion and understanding of what makes these characters so special and meaningful to countless people. You can tell that these new takes on Superman, Spiderman, and Batman are still the same Superman, Spiderman and Batman that we love. I really love your pitch idea of a Spiderman show that starts with Spiderman as a public school teacher since I, too, think it's a perfect progression for Peter's character to inspire new students and fresh minds with the same teachings and values he's learnt and actually offers a new story premise for a Spiderman show where we dont see his time as a kid in highschool or in college/university, but just as a guy in his 30's taking on new challenges and struggles which is a very ambitious but ultimately natural progression for the character and the idea of showcasing Miles as the new kid Spiderman whos learning what it means to be Spiderman under Peter's mentorship is an really cool direction for both characters that Im glad more media like the Spiderverse and Insomniac games are using
I've been really digging the story and beats Friendly Neighborhood has been hitting, even tho the animation keeps throwing me for loops constantly with how distracting it gets. And i think your set up for a new and different spider-man show works really well, Being a teacher i think threads the needle so well of letting him keep his life and work balance issues ontop of school drama, while also letting him utilize his strengths as a smart guy without going all Super Genius Parker Industries about it. Plus it gives you great set up and payoff to tie a class lesson into how to slve a spider-man problem. And ofc, support the Animation guild, cause as Friendly neighborhood spider-man shows, you can have great plot stuff, but quality animation from people well compensated can make or break how people come away from watching it
the lead actor was taken completely out of context read his full quote. he meant that he was worried that disney wasn't going to be geniune when they created the diverse cast of charchters that we see in the show, he has no problem with that. he said that it was actually done really well and he likes the show that he worked on.
I've had this spiderman idea since I was a little kid where it'd be a show that follows Peter and Ben Rielly being brothers/heros together. Like no evil Ben or complicated clone saga. The pilot is a basic story about the jackle making a spiderman clone to use as a weapon and the clone rebels. Afterwards the clone doesn't die and the rest of the show is them trying to figure out what to do next.
I think Venom should be a pre established character in this universe, not being in a villian role but instead a hero that occasionally teams up with the spider men and is kind of the goofy fun uncle that Peter keeps telling Miles to be careful around. Maybe in his introductory episode, Peter can be busy at some important meeting or can be out of commission for whatever reason and Venom can replace him for a bit with Miles learning about him and seeing that he has really changed unlike Peter who still views him as a monster.
I personally don't like going the route of a what if mcu sort of thing. Like I'm just tired of that sort of thing from marvel lately. It's either a what if of the mcu or directly tied into the mcu. It's not truly it's own spider-man show like the other shows before. And it's pretty sad that no one is really realizing this.
I plan to make my own video on it, but my pitch for a Spider-Man show is a college based story where Peter, Miles, Gwen, and Cindy act as a team of Spider-People being led by Miguel. It’d be somewhat episodic a plot that leads to Taskmaster being the main villain.
Well, I’ll try and throw my pitch. Fantastical Spider-Man starts with Spidey dealing with street crimes around Brooklyn with the crimes being tied to the Maggia. I feel like we don’t get a lot of time with Spidey’s more “grounded” rogues. They’re normally the usual suspects like Norman or Doc Ock. I’d like to reintroduce the Kingpin as part of Spidey’s rogues gallery. Carnage stuff happens and that’s when Venom is introduced. Given that it’s Fantastical Spider-Man, I think a crossover with the Four makes sense. Black Cat stuff also happens. I think in general I’d like to focus less on the more popular rogues but I do have some ideas for characters like Shocker, the Lizard and stuff like that.
My ideal Spider-Man show would be one that shows Peter actually growing in each season, graduating and getting a job. Emulating the days when the comic, in its own way, grew up with its audience. It would pay homage to the all the spider men that have come before, be it with references, suit design or by having Peter nearly curse before being somewhat interrupted...... And then he gets the symbiote suit and drops MF bombs harder than Samuel L Jackson and makes out with Johnny Storm on a gargoyle and then use his flames to light a cigar he stole from Wolverine as Paul gathers the infinity stones to get with Death
I really love that idea, and if you’ll allow me to add something, as it’s also something that’s been on my mind lately. There was trend in the last two shows, where they really tried to make Spider-Man, part of a team. No doubt, so they could have more merch opportunities, while still being able to call it “Spider-Man”. And the problem I had with it, was that it actually isn’t a bad idea… for Miles. And having Peter be a mentor to them, instead of the leader, solves all of that. This would also allow the show to explore how the Superhero Community changed over the years. If Miles were to find a group of young heroes to share this life with, it would contrast well against the struggle Peter experienced, being one of the first teenage superheroes, with very little support from either side of his life. It could even allow the show to flashback occasionally to showcase that difference. Cause if we really need to have Peter in high school, at least let it be in retrospect. Hope that makes sense. As a Champions fan, I just find it interesting how Miles’s teenage life is different to Peter’s in that perspective. Hate the fact that adaptations seemed determined to not only ignore that but outright overwrite Peter’s stories to resemble Miles’s.
My pitch is just having Peter and MJ in college, Pete’s a physics major and he’s a TA at visions academy as apart of his work studies.(Big brother trope) MJ is a film major and she does modeling on the side. Miles is in middle school and Peter is one of his teachers.
My pitch is for a show about Peter's daughter Mayday. Cause there's already alot of Peter's Spiderman and Miles got his own gig with the Spider verse movies. Well a show with him is also a good idea, I want to do one for Mayday cause I think she's cool and a bit underrated.
Spectacular was pretty close for me. Something that gave more modern updates on the old Lee & Ditko stories, while also having more serialized storytelling. I’d love to see Spider-Man content take on the much more darker themes and stories. I’ve felt that the character has become to focused on appealing to younger audiences and marketing him as pretty much the “funny, young superhero”, which feels like more modern depictions coming off as much more flat, leaving out the more complex nuances and grit of the character
i had a similar Spider-Man idea once, but instead, Miles was bit first and has to mentor his teacher, who was bit on a field trip. could be interesting to have the roles flipped, keeping Peter out of high school while still giving us an early version of his time as Spidey
WAIT I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING IN THE INTRO TO MY FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD SPIDER-MAN, THEY HAVE THE FAKE JACK KIRBY DESIGN AS ONE OF THE COSTUMES IN THE TINY BOXES!!! turn playback speed to 0.25x and you'll see at 0:25, the furthest left box has it!!! i most likely am not the first to notice this but damn i feel smart
If you haven’t heard, there are quite a few Marvel audio dramas. The Wasteland series has several different shows, each focusing on different heroes. DC has some too, and though it isn’t an official project, I tell an unauthorized biography of Clark Kent that I think you would be into. Superman: Son of El
I'd honestly love a Flash Thompson show, bring him out of the highschool bully era and let his modern characterization into the main stream. It could be MCU related or just be a brand new show entirely
6.Vulture. As for other stuff I would do: Eventually introduce Mysterio as either a replacement or ALSO a villain that's works with the Sinister Six. Make Black Cat a morally grey character or even outright villain that’s relatively benign that gradually becomes more heroic figure, to a certain point, Kraven and Mr. You can even have Spider-Verse’s rendition of The Spot make a cameo (which would be really funny). Also, Scorpion can be around, and you can have the whole “Old McDonald” joke with him. Have Lizard be a sympathetic villain. Have Spider-Man, the other Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Silk, and Venom (and probably also Antivenom Harry) work as a team to some extent. Maybe even have Daredevil and The Punisher work together. Have Glory Grant be an ex-lover and close friend to Peter, and have Ned Leeds (I prefer funny Asian guy Ned over O.G. Ned) be one of the few who knows Peter is Spider-Man (besides the aforementioned Glory). As for Peter’s spider bite origin, don’t it have in the intro, but have it revisited extremely rarely. Same with Uncle Ben’s towards the end of life/death. Also, have J. Jonah Jameson slowly warm up to Spider-Man; I still know that your college trilogy video has some really good ideas, man. You can have the show end semi-open ended yet still fairly book ended with either a retired or older and wiser Spider-Man. 8:28 The funny thing is that Raimi’s Spider-Man movie trilogy avoided doing this.
Hear me out, I got two suggestions for a Spider-Man show. One of them is a What If-style anthology series themed around the Spider-Verse where each episode centers around a different Spider-person, from the obvious picks like Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man Noir, and Spider-Punk, to more obscure ones like Headline, aka what if J. Jonah Jameson became Spider-Man. The other is kind of like Troyo’s pitch, only instead of Peter being a teacher at Midtown who is the mentor of Miles Morales, this series has Peter, who has long since retired from being Spider-Man after his final battle with the Green Goblin, being the mentor for his three kids, Mayday, Anna-May, and Richard when they start developing their own Spider-Man powers. Why yes, that second pitch is basically me promoting my own Marvel universe I call Earth-54581. Thank you for asking.
Considering the diverse cast and raceswapping in the show, the Spidey VA definitely has a different definition of "woke". Personally I think he meant the show doesn't use diversity or inclusive as brown points, ratings, or viewership ("corporate wokeness"). Or something like that. OR maybe he's just an idiot. Who knows.
5:29 I think the best example of a comic book show taking huge inspiration from earlier comics and storylines but being its own thing is Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I would personally say that show hit the perfect balance of original content and adapted source material
Dude, I swear sometimes you're spying on me. I rewatched a few Batman Beyond episodes a few months back and literally the entire time I was thinking how cool a version of this with Peter and Miles would be. Not literally Batman Beyond, like you said I'd want Peter still out there helping Miles in the field, but yeah, I want literally all this
I’m one of those people screaming at Marvel to make a Spider-Man series not about Peter. He’s had so many shows I think the other spider-people deserve a chance on the small screen: Miles, Hobie, Miguel, Spider-Gwen! Could you imagine what stories you could tell with them (not connected to the multiverse)?
3:31 Does Uncle Ben still die in the show's continuity? Also Disney only have the rights to make animated Spider-Man shows, and the episodes have to be shorter than 45 Minutes. Whilst Sony have the rights to make Live Action Spider-Man shows, and have the episodes be whatever length they want, hence why they're making the Spider-Noir show for Prime Video.
@benwashacked3350 Yeah but still thinking, this Peter with a child's voice refuses to stop a crook, who later murders his uncle. Thinking about that is both awful and hilarious.
I really like your idea of a Miles and Peter series. It gives you a solid way to have the characters interact with the same space/people on two different levels (as well as their costume and civilian binary). If I was drafting in an extra Spider-man for one episode or two, I'd probably start kit bashing characters lik Mayday, 2099 and SP//DR, rather than reaching for Gwen or Ben Riley. Time travellers come with an obvious story (save the future) which justifies their disappearance at the end of the episode, without needing to kill them off, and that story also feeds into the wider theme of legacy by extending Peter's influence into the far future. I think Mayday and Peni are useful to pull on because the gendered aspects render the character potentially more easily identifiable as 'not Pete or Miles in another costume' which works for quickly communicating information, while Miguel and Peni both have obvious 'from the future' vibes. This means you can do a lot of your storytelling quickly and visually, while also playing around with a slightly different powerset.
We almost had it with Unlimited, and DC beat them to the punch with Batman Beyond… but we NEED a show about 2099. I picture it a bit like Arcane S1, with injustice, corruption and class politics causing civil unrest, and Miguel stands up against the elites at Alchemax, Oscorp, and whoever else. Give me grungy and futuristic landscapes, dystopian concepts, and a banger intro and we’re set
I personally would like it if Marvel and DC did an Animated Series that adapted Comics one for one for their anniversary years like to celebrate the past and introduce new people to them with necessary improvements made. My personal style for a show would be to have it happen in an already existing universe well not really like an old show but a pre existing universe like things have happened in this universe like Scorpion exists or Ock exists or Goblin exists have them be in their Classic designs and adapt stories that have not already happened like The Clone Saga or Clone Conspiracy and add Ben and Kaine to the roster or some other stories.

My pitch for a Spider-Man show is Peter and MJ as teachers at Midtown High. Peter is the science teacher, and MJ is the drama teacher. Miles and maybe even Cindy are their students (though just Miles work well enough).
I’ve never thought about MJ being a teacher that would be so fun!
Eh

Holy crap, I didn’t even think about that! She’s been an actress in the comics, so of course she would teach a drama class! That makes so much sense! 😮
I love that on josh keatons youtube channel. He and zeno robinson are voice acting comic panels as peter and miles and even the other spectacular actors appear to reprise their roles
We are long overdue a series centering around Miles.
Or Ghost-Spider
No we aren't 😂
hes going to have three movies with him as a lead thats enough for now
Besides Spider-Verse (yes, that counts, because there’s two movies and The Spider Within short).
0:53 dont worry. Thats totally normal. Probably.

If I could do a Spider-Man show of my own
- Give us the Fantastic Four and his friendship with Jonny
- Have a WHOLE season about the black suit and its slow corruption
- Have Harry become the Hob Goblin instead of the green goblin, as his attempt to be a different but better version of his father that still falls in the violence and insanity
- Have him be in college and then be a teacher for midtown (of course in the mean time have him work at the bugle)
7:15 more high quality motion comics should be made. The ones that exist on RUclips have provided me and my dad such joy.
We could see Peter’s family and his relationships with other heroes that he’s met over the years (F4, Wolverine, Daredevil, Captain America etc.)
P.S. the Peter and Miles series’ sounds really cool.
That’s so cool man, good luck
Good luck, friend 😊
What’s the main villan
12:27 I’m still so confused why people keep going on about that, like we can have two Captain America’s, two Flashes, a whole galactic police force of Green Lanterns, all with the same names and nobody bats an eye but Marvel has the GALL to let Miles rightfully be called Spider-Man at the same time as Peter and THAT’S where people draw the line? 🤦🏻♂️
If Miles can’t be Spider-Man, then Barry Allen can’t be the Flash.
Well, I’m pretty sure there’s still people that disregard Sam as Captain America.
@ And I find that to be stupid as well
we have SIX well known Robins, we should be able to handle 2 spider-mans
@LucasHopkins2006 it's all coporate slop anyways especially spidei
I agree with you every for his depiction in the video game. Miles is shown to be extremely capable in the ps5 game, even outshining Peter at times.
@Tb1025 exactly.
My pitch for a Spider-Man animated series is make a Spider-Man 2099 show!
🍟👜🆘️
Peter being a teacher for Miles in his personal and superhero life would be a fun inversion of the “Peter’s mentor becomes Spider-Man’s villain” idea
3:31 don’t forget how they were brave enough to adapt Sins Past and actually made it work!
I don't understand how they were even allowed to do that. It's a show for 6-8 year olds. I was floored when I saw the adaptation.
Wait, which show adapted that?
How's this for a Spider-Man show pitch? Spider-Man: Responsibilities! It may sound educational, but it breaks down Spidey's drive; he's responsible for protecting his home, saving his friends and family from trouble, teaching other spider-heroes like him; that's what makes him Amazing to me!

I’ve always liked the idea that rather than rebooting the character for each new show, you let the new writers go with a new character to take up the mantle as a kid again. It prob be the healthiest way to recycle old ideas while still keeping them new due to different teams having different visions.

Comics needing audiobooks?
This is why Radiant Black continues to be the goat-
If I was in charge of doing a Spider-Man animated series with full creative freedom i would do a Smallville style TV show showing Peter's life from the early beginnings to adulthood showing all the parts of his life and taking inspirations from all the eras of Spider-Man.
Season 1-2: High School years. Inspired by the Lee-Ditko time with some of Romita Sr.
Season 3-6: College years. Gwen Stacy death happens at the end of Season 3 and MJ and Peter becomes a couple in Season 4. This is a more darker and mature taking inspirations from the 80s and 90s comics (Last Hunt, Venom, Clone Saga, Harry Osborn becomes Green Goblin etc.)
Season 8-10: Adulthood years. Peter is now a fully realized hero and start teaching at Midtown high as a professor and start training Miles plus also start thinking to propose to MJ. Spider-Verse is the big endgame event as he fights to save New York and the Multiverse from Morlun and in the end he's able to save everyone, he retires and gives the mantle to Miles and becomes the new Sepctacular Spider-Man
That is great way to pass the torch, introduce Miles when all possible stories of Peter are exhausted.
Does anyone else feel weird that this show takes a character with albinism - albeit, creepy fantastical albinism - and reinterprets him as… Well, as not having albinism?
…No? Just me then, I suppose; huh.
if only we got a direct adaptation of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic run, I feel like that run is perfect for an Invincible style show
Man, I love watching my favorite SPIDER MAN RUclipsr, a RUclipsr that makes SPIDER MAN CONTENT and NOTHING ELSE
This about to be the perfect Spider-Man show pitch.
Honestly my ideal spider-man show is a story following him from high school to college than him passing down the torch. Like each season focusing on a different year of school for him. Ik it’s nvr gonna happen and Peter in school is kinda overdone but I’ve always taught this would be a great concept for a show.
1:07 and also Daredevil*
Being a young adult comes with new stress, changing priorities, friends in all different stages of life
5:12 i agree. MTV Spider-Man had raw AURA in a way no other spider-man show has had before or since
They should call it 'Spider-Man it's morbin time' and it's just a morbius show
I had a similar idea awhile ago, divide episodes into A & B segments with A segments being young Peter encountering classic villains for the first time while the B segments are Miles being mentored by older Peter and fighting new versions of the villains.
Mimimimi😴😪
If I got to make my own Spider-Man show, my main change would be: Uncle Ben's Death. Everything about it.
First, it happens at least as far back as Episode 12, giving us a lot of time to learn who he is, as well as his dynamics with different characters. (May, Harry, Ned, Flash, etc)
Next, before it happens, he finds out that Peter's Spider-Man.
5:03 The Young Justice shade lmao
By "woke" he meant progressive ideas for the sake of profit, and by saying that the show wasn't "woke" it means that the creators actually understand and explore the themes presented, as you'll come to find out if you actually read the interview. For example, something like rainbow capitalism would be "woke", not because it's queer, but because it uses our marginalization for the sake of profit, and not to actually make the world a better place. (I hope that clears things up)
Pretty obvious but now he's being labled as a racist which...really? Come on guys, get over it
Believe me, by now we’re all familiar with the right wing playbook lol
"it's pretty great" he says. 😂
sure.
And ofc, support the Animation guild, cause as Friendly neighborhood spider-man shows, you can have great plot stuff, but quality animation from people well compensated can make or break how people come away from watching it
DA COMICBOOK KING IS BACK BABY HE NEVA MISS WE'RE EATING GOOD TODAY Y'ALL
the lead actor was taken completely out of context read his full quote. he meant that he was worried that disney wasn't going to be geniune when they created the diverse cast of charchters that we see in the show, he has no problem with that. he said that it was actually done really well and he likes the show that he worked on.
True, but that doesn’t explain why he chose to use the weirdest wording that he possibly could
I've had this spiderman idea since I was a little kid where it'd be a show that follows Peter and Ben Rielly being brothers/heros together.
4:09 the resurrection of ultimate spiderman fans is probably due to its primary demographic getting old enough to be nostalgic about it
That Young Justice shot, Shot hard lol 5:02
I personally don't like going the route of a what if mcu sort of thing. Like I'm just tired of that sort of thing from marvel lately. It's either a what if of the mcu or directly tied into the mcu. It's not truly it's own spider-man show like the other shows before. And it's pretty sad that no one is really realizing this.
This show is one of the best I’d say for spiderman shows can’t beat spectacular tho. This is reminding me of the great days of spiderman
i would love to see this kind of video about different marvel/dc characters, maybe even some characters who have never gotten a tv show
I plan to make my own video on it, but my pitch for a Spider-Man show is a college based story where Peter, Miles, Gwen, and Cindy act as a team of Spider-People being led by Miguel.
I think if another show abot Peter's first few years of spider man where to be, i think Shocker would be interesting to explore. I just like him
Emperor Palpatine voice
Yes yes. Embrace the Spider-Man channel you was always meant to be.
As long as Shocker makes an appearance and is not some grunt. It gets a immediate plus outta me
14:26 What?!?!? It’s not ugly! I really like 2017 Spider-Man art style and all. Me and that Peter actually look similar lol
I love how he pronounces holzkern
WAIT I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING
IN THE INTRO TO MY FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD SPIDER-MAN, THEY HAVE THE FAKE JACK KIRBY DESIGN AS ONE OF THE COSTUMES IN THE TINY BOXES!!!
turn playback speed to 0.25x and you'll see at 0:25, the furthest left box has it!!! i most likely am not the first to notice this but damn i feel smart
6:38 you know what else is massive?
If you haven’t heard, there are quite a few Marvel audio dramas. The Wasteland series has several different shows, each focusing on different heroes. DC has some too, and though it isn’t an official project, I tell an unauthorized biography of Clark Kent that I think you would be into. Superman: Son of El
I'd honestly love a Flash Thompson show, bring him out of the highschool bully era and let his modern characterization into the main stream. It could be MCU related or just be a brand new show entirely
They should do the idea you said about the diffrent eras and art styles but make it a movie or a short series based on Spiderman life story
Yet again, my ideal Sinister Six would be:
1.Green Goblin (Doesn’t have to be the leader of the team).
2.Doctor Octopus.
3.Sandman.
4.Electro.
5.Rhino (can be fought before or after The Green Gobby if first fought. Your suggestion to have Spider-Man fight the Rhino at the beginning of the show is great).
6.Vulture.
As for other stuff I would do:
Eventually introduce Mysterio as either a replacement or ALSO a villain that's works with the Sinister Six. Make Black Cat a morally grey character or even outright villain that’s relatively benign that gradually becomes more heroic figure, to a certain point, Kraven and Mr.
Not reading allat Lil bro

@No.
I want either 90s or unlimited continuation
My dream Spider-Man show would just be a 2024 Ultimate Spider-Man adaptation lol.
You're right, I will say it. Bring back Spectacular Spider-Man!!
I like the idea of Peter as a teacher, but I feel like Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 gave a good explanation to why that doesn't work
Bro big wheel is so slept on
Dude, I swear sometimes you're spying on me.
Most of the Peter Parker shows that seem oversaturated is high schooler Peter Parker.
@DarsiPadilla Exactly! There's so many stories you can tell outside of high school Peter. Look at how much love the new Ultimate Spider-man is getting
3:42 I love SSM but I don't want it to be ruined
3:31 Does Uncle Ben still die in the show's continuity? Also Disney only have the rights to make animated Spider-Man shows, and the episodes have to be shorter than 45 Minutes. Whilst Sony have the rights to make Live Action Spider-Man shows, and have the episodes be whatever length they want, hence why they're making the Spider-Noir show for Prime Video.
Uncle Ben dies before the show starts and before Peter gets his powers
@benwashacked3350 Yeah but still thinking, this Peter with a child's voice refuses to stop a crook, who later murders his uncle. Thinking about that is both awful and hilarious.
@Person-wz6iy ok?
'interesting characters like niko' is wild
