I was about to diss that person for how obvious it looks that she rarely ever holds a controller, but do people in general not hold their index finger around the shoulders?
I guess it depends on the games you're used to play, for someone like me who plays Dark Souls and a lot of TPS its just natural to have my index fingers around the shoulder buttons, but maybe she just plays AC or some games that don't require the shoulder buttons so frequently or at all
Pretty much what mad said. Any time I play games like animal crossing where I dont need to my fingers are never on the bumpers/triggers cuz I don't need them there. But when I play fighting games like gauro a adopt another weird way to hold the controller where my left hand is still holding it like normal(index finger still not on the bumpers/triggers) but my right hand is over the controller with my index hovering over the Y and B buttons while my middle hovers over the X and A. My thumb basily rests on the bottom of the controller where the lights are that show what player you are while my ring and pinky are to the right of the controller. Sounds weird, but trust me, it's how I learned to play fighting games. And then of coarse in games like Mario kart or more accurately CTR bot my index fingers are on the bumpers ready for drifting while my thumb is on the acceleration. And in ctr specificly my right middle finger is on the trigger (or RZ if yo u want) ready to tap it if needed to look back. Really does depend on the game you play. I know in splatoon 2 I also sometimes have my middle finger ready just incase I need to press R and RZ very close to the same time.
