- Welcome back to my channel!
In this video, I’ll show you how to replace the chain on your Stihl chainsaw and how to properly adjust chain tension. I’ll go over the Stihl MS 194T & MS 311 chainsaws. Remember, a sharp chain and a properly tensioned chain is a safe chain.
I hope you enjoy!

Morning stoney!!! Love your informational videos. We're going to be using your removable fence post idea soon!
Morning MJ! Thank you so much. Is really appreciate that. Have fun with your fence! We love ours and have been using the removable posts a lot more than we thought. I hope the new homestead is coming along :) that’s really exciting!
It's is slowly but surely. I'm still working on the west side for the time being so I only get to be home weekends😢 went out to blewett pass last week though and actually found some wild shiny. Sluicing for my first time
@@OnlyPansMJIRL sucks about work, but awesome about the shiney! That pass has such unique gold and you’re lucky to be that close! Super happy for you… keep sluicin’
Excellent video! Took me at least an hour, a couple dozen cuss words but I had the satisfaction of finally doing what I've never been able to do before. Mahalo and Aloha from Honolulu HI.
Mark! This is excellent! I’m glad it helped and that you can get back to the job! I’ve always loved HI and have visited many times! The military brought me there :) I miss Spam being in everything 🤣🤣 Much respect my friend and thanks again. I appreciate hearing from people that the video helped them.

Thanks Guardian Mal! Glad it helped and thanks for the comment and support :)
I'm super jealous of your well organized garage!
Hahaha! Thanks! I take pride in that space. It’s been good to me so I have to be good to it :)
Right on man. Thanks for this video. I plan on getting a chainsaw soon. This information will be helpful. I have an electric one but I don't use it much
Thanks Man! I was just gonna say… have you looked into an electric one yet? Might be the way of the future. Either way, same concepts. 😎
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I need a gas one for when I'm in the mountains. I like my electric one. It works well. But I'm limited with it cause of how long the extension cord goes. Plus have a couple trees in the backyard I need to prune. I have some hand saws but I'm good on using them if I don't have to lol
I hear ya! Lol! Well good luck and be careful out there. Let’s keep all of our limbs! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks man for this vid i have a 194 🎉
My man Rick! You are so welcome my friend! I just used my 194 all weekend rounding some alders and man that little chainsaw can rip! I barely use the bigger one anymore. The 194 can tackle anything I give it! Anyhow, thanks for the comment and support! Have fun out there and stay safe!
Great video stoney 👊
Thanks David! It’s that time again! I always appreciate your support :)
Thank you
Thanks Marvin! Super glad this helped you! I appreciate the support :)
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser yeah man I was having little ruff time today smashed the 194t jajaja they gonna fix it for me
Nice!
Thanks brother! I hope you got to enjoy some of those hot days we just had! I was stuck working through most of them but had a day to get a lot done around the house!
@Stoney Creek Sparkchaser Thanks bro! I got out and burned $100 + in diesel checking new locations and it was mostly a bust due to high water and no benches to work. Good day out just expensive. That's a prospectors life though I guess. It's hard trying to navigate the national park over here.
I know the feeling all too well! Yea especially over near the Olympics (if that’s where you were) that park has crazy borders. Just get yourself one of those national park books. That’s what I use. Fairly accurate IMO.
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser I use onx on my phone helps a ton and tells me property owners. It's a savior. All good though got a few micro specs and know where I might try after the snow melt.
you don't know if Sthil sells a Metal Spike to adapted to the 194t because I don't like the plastic spikes.
I don’t Victor, sorry about that. Did you try and ask that at a Stihl Service center? They may have your answer there. You may be able to make your own and bolt it on there. Never know and it could work. Good luck and my apologies again for not knowing the answer.
@@StoneyCreekSparkchaser thank you StoneyCreek...I will look for that part . I saw in another video that part came with the chainsaw 194t, but for some reason mind not come with that part.
