I believe it’s gohan because of the way gohan was still holding is own against buutenks. While goku couldn’t beat the “weaker” kid buu
But it’s my opinion and you did make valid points about goku being stronger
I haven't actually watched the video yet, so take what I say here with a grain of salt.
Though I ultimately still agree with your assessment (even if I think it is only by a very small amount. Like, Goku's experience and martial arts prowess, I think would easily be enough to give him the win, despite being "weaker"), there are some issues with your assessment. Namely the fact that Goku only "couldn't beat" kid Buu, due to Buu's defensive hacks. Goku was of comparable power, arguably even more powerful, but he just couldn't get the finishing blow, because Buu may as well be immortal. No matter how much damage Goku did, Buu just came right back at full power. Essentially, though I agree that Buu with Gotenks absorbed, is more powerful than Kid Buu, Gohan was outmatched in that fight (even saying that he was holding his own is being pretty generous), while Goku was more powerful than Kid Buu, just unable to finish him off, causing him to get worn down over time.

In both the fights, the only reason both Goku and Gohan even get close to Buutenks is only when Buutenks gets arrogant and let's his guard down. But in the fight Gohan still had better Reaction, travel, and combat speed. Which makes sense because Super Saiyan 3 used a lot of energy and slows down the host.

Both were equal until Buu, who absorbed Piccolo, the one who taught Gohan practically everything he knew about fighting and one of the people who knew Gohan best, got in his head and knew all the buttons to push for Gohan to lose the will to fight. Buu just toyed with Goku.

I can't even believe it is a debate, Akira stated that every enemy is progressively stronger until Kid Buu which means that Kid Buu is a regression in power compared to even Adult Buu and I 100% guarantee that a SSJ Vegito can destroy SSJ3 Goku from half an Hour into thr future since Goku did no training and gained no power boost within the time he flew and picked up Hercule and when he landed on the Kaioshin Realm. Which was under a Minute.
Every false statement is taken from anime mistranslations and Dubbisims and everything else is headcannon and assumptions with no evidence to back it up.

There's nothing in the manga which states Kid Buu being stronger, otherwise how did Goku and Vegeta gain Dozens of times more power in Minutes without any training and no mention of it and why did it state that "Kid Buu is weaker than the original but far more dangerous and unpredictable"??

Here are the facts...
Gohan's potential is repeatedly stated to surpass Goku's (from the beginning of DBZ and during the buu saga itself)
Gohan's potential is then released and amplified by old kai... therefore he is stronger than Goku, no question whatsoever. It's really that simple.
And to seal the deal, Goku doesn't get stronger during the buu saga. He is never stated nor implied to get stronger from anything. He doesn't have any near death fights so he doesn't get any zenkais. Theres no training and the entire arc takes place during 1 day...
FINALLY someone who gives the context to Goku’s statement on not wanting to fight Super Buu!! Literally NOBODY has given full context to his statement outside of, like, 2 people counting you.
Goku has no idea if they would return back to their normal size, and when they did, both Goku and Vegeta were pretty confident they could take on Super Buu.

Then after the fight Goku confirms that without the Genki Dama everyone would have died. Finally even Vegeta says that only Goku could fight Kid Buu because both their powers were beyond imagination. He saw much of the earlier Buu saga too as he says he saw the fusion dance from the afterlife.
And that's confirmed just from the OG manga. Daizenshuu and both versions of DBS as well as the original Battle of Gods movie continues with the Goku and Kid Buu narrative that they're the strongest by the end.

Goku stated that Gohan had surpassed him before Gohan went to fight super buu. But even if Goku is indeed stronger he needs to turn ssj3 to make up for it and we all know how bad of a transformation ssj3 is on the user and I doubt Goku ssj3 could one shot Gohan so pretty sure in an actual fight Gohan would win cuz Goku wouldnt have the stamina to maintain ssj3

When Gohan left to fight super buu he was MUCH stronger than goku this is explained narratively throughout not just this saga but from the beginning of the series when stated Gohan has the most potential of all saiyans. The time between Gohan having his potential unlocked and fighting super buu all the way up to kid buus death was less than 24 hours. Elder Kai trading his life for gokus was never stated to boost power, and was shown to NOT boost power by the fact that goku had SIGNIFICANTLY worse showings against buutenks and EXPLICITLY stating he was much weaker than super buu. You claim that Goku WITHOUT ANY on screen or mentioned power boosts somehow became stronger than Gohan?? When in the ENTIRE series of Dragon Ball has Goku EVER gotten stronger of the span of 12 or so hours? He had to train with king kai for a year just to STILL be weaker than Vegeta. He had to Train at 100x earth gravity for months traveling to namek and receive a zenkai boost to still be weaker than frieza. This video is mostly non canon and headcanon, here why.
Even on the first day, Gohan had more power in his base form than Goku. Gohan received a Zenkai boost after his battle with Fat Buu, where he almost died, and he was trained by the Kai. In his base form, Gohan was able to effortlessly lift the Z Sword, while base Goku struggled with it.
Old Kai mentioned that Gohan's Ultimate form doesn't require transformation gimmicks like Goku's, meaning that all of Gohan's strongest power is brought out by the Kai without the need to transform into Super Saiyan 1-3. So it makes Gohan the strongest fighter in Z. Base Gohan alone is stronger than Goku so i dunno why people still think SSJ3 Goku beat mysthic gohan.

7:14 one of the points here that I would like to address would simply be how inconsistent and illogical this statement is because this Goku is supposed to be nerffed to where he should be weaker than Super Buu since he even says they'll get killed and yet he can keep up with a exact replicate of Gohan who he says is just like the real Gohan and the real Gohan was slapping the ever living shit out of Super Buu.

Dude what about the Zenkai boost Gohan got after Dende healed him when he got beat down by Buutenks? We know that he got one even if it wasn't shown on screen or on page. Saiyans get these after every harsh battle. And you didn't bring up stamina at all. Goku cannot maintain SS3 for long at all while Gohan can maintain that level indefinitely. There are other points but damn your analysis is lacking critical points and you misinterpreted some of those guide posts so absurdly wrong I have to thing you did that shit on purpose. Completely lacking the context of the timing of where the manga/anime was when those posts were originally made and other context, too. And your assertion the fake Gohan is as powerful as the real one is false. You are saying regular SS Goku could handle Ultimate Gohan? That's how Goku fought the dream Gohan. Here’s an interesting video idea: if Goku and Vegeta use fusion dance instead of the potara(assuming it could work with dead people), could Gogeta beat Buuhan(Buu saga not Fusion reborn for the people who are still confuse for some reason)

@@HimenoMemes First of all this is Buu saga, Vegito will still have a better time limit. Secondly, Vegito lasted for around 40 mins base on the manga. And thirdly Fusion Dance's fusion has also been timed out early due to power taxing before(ssj4 gogeta or gotenks ssj3 if you don't want to count GT). The same could still happens to Gogeta if he went Blue. If you pay close attention to the Broly Gogeta fight again you'll notice that Gogeta start increase the intensity in his attacks the moment he went blue as if to end the fight early and even went for a kill shot despite not needing to. This implies that there is a time drain and Gogeta know this base on past experience so he was trying to end the fight quickly(the fight was shown to us with cinematic timing, basically slowing the fight down so we could see what's going in so despite how long the fight was in movie time, in actuality for all we know it could last for less than 5 minutes. The jump from day time to dusk was due to them breaking the fabric of time and re-emerging at a later point of time)
Gohan is the strongest unfused character in the original run.
Goku’s stamina issue in ss3 is a big problem, he didn’t grow stronger in the buu saga plus it is never implied that Goku received a boost from elder Kai’s life it’s completely headcanon, also Goku vs buutenks isn’t canon anyway as well as Goku vs Gohan inside buu
Gohan is not the strongest infused character. Even in the manga it’s states Gohan is stronger than Gotenks. But it never states that he’s stronger than Goku, that is a key point to take notice. Also, Goku is the only Z fighter who was highly suppressed all throughout the Buu Arc. Goku was highly suppressed when he fought Vegeta. Suppression in form of not using 100% of his maximum power level.
Out of Gohan, Gotenks & Vegeta, Goku is the only Saiyan, and Z fighter who has been highly suppressed. There is clear evidence in both the manga & the anime to back it. The only time Goku used 100% is vs Kid Buu.
SSJ3 does not inherently have a stamina problem or issue. The reason SSJ3 Goku suffered from stamina issues is bcuz he got the beating of a lifetime from Kid Buu.
The most amazing thing about this part is a credit to SSJ III Goku’s. He was beaten so severely that he didn’t even know he couldn’t recover his power level. This is a testament to SSJ3 Goku’s durability. Any Z fighter that is getting beat up will suffer stamina issues. But this is something you and the vast majority of other fans overlooked.
What isn’t canon? That’s where your wrong. All filler in DBZ KAI is canon bcuz KAI is synonymous and canon to DBZ Manga. The anime in the manga is congruent synonymous and connected to one another. Two rivers flowing as one.
The reason why OGDBZ anime is non-canon, is because the vast majority of the filler completely deviated from the Manga. Therefore none of it could be taken seriously because it created its own story are from filler alone. That’s why it is completely discredited and disregarded. And I had a lot of amazing moments and epic transformations and dialogue that we still love to this day. But basically everything from OGDBZ anime is not Kenneth. However everything in Kai is Canon it was created to be closer connected to the Manga synonymous to the manga in Cannon and it’s all right in connection to the manga. This was said by Akira Toriyama. So whether you choose to except with the author the one who created the epic store you love so much, or not that’s on you but it doesn’t change the truth and the reality of what is canon & what is not.
The only thing you are correct on is that Goku did not get a Zenkai boost. But what you fail to realize is no Saiyan got a Zenkai boost. Not one. Especially Gohan. This is stated in both manga and anime, especially about Gohan.
Yes he did. Saiyan gain a Zenkai when healing from near death or revival. Being brought back from dead counts as revial thus granting him a zenkai

How does kid buu scale then? If goku is implying that kidbuu could be defeated if he had his body from the afterlife it would mean that kid buu somewhat scales to buutenks. So I’m wondering where he would scale.

There’s also the DBS statements, that state from both Vegeta and the narrator that Goku became the strongest Saiyan after defeating Kid Buu. And of course, we know Vegeta viewed the battles between Gohan and Gotenks, and he still claimed Goku was the only one who could defeat Kid Buu.
Keyword AFTER fighting Kid Buu follow the timeline to Battle Of Gods arc it’s clear that Gohan was no longer training.
Goku and Vegeta don’t go soft on training even with no looming threats around.
That’s all AFTER the Buu saga though , from the moment Gohan got his power up he was the strongest until after the timeskip.
Goku even said that SSJ3 Gotenks and Super Buu were stronger than him and Gotenks could press him but Gohan throttled Super Buu. He was the strongest at the end of the Buu saga.

1. The line reads, “He defeated Majin Buu, and should have become the undisputed superior fighter.” And, “Kakarot….the strongest Saiyan I’ve avowed!”. (Quotes from ep 2)
2. It is not made apparent that Gohan is weaker after the Buu Saga. The only time it’s noted by the characters and his design that he has gotten weaker is after the Battle of Gods arc. And in the original movie, it’s stated by his character sheet that he is still in the Ultimate form when fighting Beerus. And even the manga and anime act as though he is Ultimate.
3. What episode or manga chapter is this? Because Goku never once states in the original manga that Gotenks is stronger than him. And not only did Toaster give him own explanation for why Goku says what he says about Super Buu, but there are clear contradictions in that statement afterwards, as Goku admits in the same chapter (313 of DBZ) that Super Buu’s power is increasing when he becomes Kid Buu, with even the Super Exciting Guide also saying Buu has powered-up. And even Toriyama himself states Buu’s strength keeps increasing with every transformation in interviews for Kai (www.kanzenshuu.com/translations/dragon-ball-kai-majin-buu-akira-toriyama-message/). And the Dragon Ball Forever Guide states both Goku and Kid Buu fought with equal strength

Goku is the strongest saiyan because Gohan technically isn't a saiyan and isn't being thought of as a saiyan warrior in this context... Vegetas entire speech about Goku being the best has nothing to do with actual power levels or who's stronger because its completely irrelevant here because Goku is simply the best whether he's weaker than his opponent or not, he finds a way to win....
Just like when Goku fought Vegeta, despite Vegeta having every advantage, Goku still won because he's the BEST... that's what Vegeta is talking about and the narrator is just repeating and expanding upon those statements

I prefer to go by statements in the show itself (since I'm an anime-only fan), but I'd accept manga statements as full canon (because, duh)... but everything else, like guidebooks are secondary canon, at best. So basically, Gohan has the best potential, but almost never matches up to it, so in general, Goku is the strongest at almost any given time.
Of course, this is mostly due to Toriyama changing his mind about making Gohan the MC, and switching back to Goku lol. Otherwise, Gohan absolutely would've surpassed Goku around the time of the Cell games and maintained his position as the strongest, except of course for having to be weaker than any new enemy introduced so there could still be plot progression and interesting stuff lol.
So, I would say that Goku was the strongest until around the Cell games, got briefly surpassed by Gohan, and then took his place as #1 back. In fact, Vegeta is probably stronger than Gohan, usually. Especially in most of Super.

I think people often forget the difference between potential an actual ability Goku is almost always the most powerful because he trains non-stop to be that way however we've seen time and time again when Gohan is backed into a corner. He will find power within himself unmatched by anyone else this is first seen when he achieved super Saiyan 2 and most recently his beast form I think the real deciding factor is their mentalities Gohan hates to fight Goku loves it! And that is reflected in their abilities and how they approach fighting

The only thing suggesting Gohan is stronger than Goku is the fact that when Buutenks became Buu Piccolo, Goku said "Gohan can handle you" instead of putting himself up for the task. I’ve always thought ever since the way Goku ssj3 is able to evade and barely show damage from buutenks’ attacks. Meanwhile, buutenks destroys gohan. Taking akira toriyama’s word on power levels and manga is laughable at this point, considering how many canonical things he has simply just forgot. I think Goku ssj3 is the strongest of the nonfused z fighters from the buu saga.

And he flat out states “well your first sons still stronger where is he” so Vegeta thinks Gohan is the strongest. And this claim is made just before the final battle, so no zenkai boost would’ve taken place. So Gohan is the strongest

It was NEVER displayed at any point that goku broke through his limitations at any point in that 12 hours it was instead implied that he got WEAKER after gaining his life back due to the limitations of mortal stamina. Yes goku got a zenkai boost when fighting frieza so did vegeta neither of which allowed them to come close to overpowering him. Let's say that goku did get a zenkai boost from elder Kai(he didnt) but let's say he did. That still wouldn't explain anything narratively. This issue was settled 20 fucking years ago when the saga first aired and you are taking what this guy is saying as law lmao. Kid Buu is never stated to be weaker than Super Buu and Goku actually says his Ki got bigger. Fans say he lost this power but that's both unfounded with no evidence but also just wrong. The Kaio powers that increased Buu's power were never freed like the Kids and Piccolo were and DBS confirms that all the absorbed Kaio powers remained in Kid Buu.
Daizenshuu only says Gotenks surpassed "Vegeta and the others" and if we cite Daizenshuu then it clearly labels Kid Buu and Goku as the strongest at the end and it says the Genki Dama was the maximum level of power putting Kid Buu as an enemy beyond everyone else except Goku.
Honestly the Genki Dama by itself ends the debate. We are told where it lands on the scaling and only SS3 Goku could do an attack that was even thought to work on Kid Buu and Gohan was mentioned by name when the in complete version is stated to not be strong enough. And since ToP and Daizenshuu confirm how strong the Genki Dama is this puts Kid Buu squarely above Gohan.

No one ever says Kid Buu's Ki went down at any point. Goku says it increased with Buff Buu and when Kid Buu appeared Vegeta called him a shrimp as in his size. The original Japanese clearly refers only to his physical stature. And if you're citing these two Saiyans then we have to go with the most recent statements. During the final fight, Vegeta's says Kid Buu's power is beyond imagination and Goku says without the Genki Dama everyone would die. So latest statement establish the intended scaling.
Moreover if we go with Daizenshuu at all then Kid Buu and Goku are labeled as fellow strongest with Kid Buu the strongest in the universe when the Genki Dama defeated him. Gotenks is only stated to surpass Vegeta and the others, not Goku who would have been named since he's stronger than Vegeta.

The guidebooks contradict the manga completely. It's because toriyama changed his mind about having gohan or gotenks be the hero so he removed them from relevance and wanted to make goku the hero again and Viz Media/Shonen jump having to come up with guides that are completely flawed or make no sense like adding "the elder kai gave goku more ki when he gave him his life" or "Gotenks was only as strong as SSJ2 vegeta". The final villain of any media shouldnt always have to be the strongest.

I personally do not like to use statements to powerscale rather feats and showings...gohan although weaker, held his own against buutenks and completely destroyed super buu...and it can be argued that super buu is superior to kid buu, who goku as ssj3 struggles to beat. Further proving gohan is stronger. Also when goku fought gohan inside buu, its unlikely that gohan was the same strength as he were outside as you'd have to think just ssj goku is superior to him...which is just BS.

I've seen the comparising in the movie, non-canon or not, doesn't matter much to me. SSJ3 had the upper hand by far, Gohan could not keep up with Goku as a SSJ3. In fact, Mystic Gohan got beat, Goku SSJ3 wasn't. In the end, Goku SSJ3 had the victory. The movie was as close as it could be for the two showing off. On the other hand, the things Toriyama said are playing a big role in the canon universe. Still, my vote goes to SSJ3 , but based story-wise, a maybe .. an even match, i guess .. hard to say. Mystic Gohan is considered a bit stronger in the canon universe, but the movie (even if it's non-canon) shows SSJ3 Goku the winner by far, and to me the movie is canon, because WHERE else did Trunks get his sword from.

Goku doesn't know if he can beat Fat Buu. Goku then is unable and wouldn't have been able to beat Kid Buu either. Super Buu is both Kid buu and Fat Buu's power put together. Gohan is above that. Gohan wins by raw stats this way or by outlasting SSJ3 with similar stats.
The Gohan Goku fights is likely nerfed since Vegeta, with a weaker form than he used against Majin Buu, was able to fight SSJ3 Gotenks who was around Super Buu's level of power.
The ki sensing across the universe doesn't mean anything since Gohan did it with a weaker form in ROF.
Goku reacted to Buuhan but he actually couldn't do anything to him. If he was really stronger than Gohan he wouldn't have waited to kill Buu with piccolo's clothes. He would have just done it especially at that point in the saga.
Gohan has the raw stamina advantage and is performing better than Goku or at least similarly to stronger forms of full powered Buu. I still have money on Gohan because I believe Super Buu is superior to Kid Buu. Unless Goku got a buff from Shenron, I still believe Gohan should win.
Goku later clearly doubles back and says he *could've* beat Fat Buu stop trying to manipulate history.

Ultimate Gohan has more power, but Goku has the skill. Before this video I thought Gohan would win. But Goku do now ik they are bugging if they think a Majin ssj3 Goku couldn't beat ultimate Gohan.
While I still don't agree with you about Goku being stronger. You made some good arguments with some scans to back it up. However, two of your points that I have problems with.
The first was the statements Goku made when inside Buu's body. Goku stated that the fake Gohan's power was virtually identical to the real Gohan, but that's a problem to the argument you were trying to present. If Gohan's power was unaffected by the changes in his body, there would be no reason for Goku to be worried about heading outside and fighting super buu even in such a state as Vegito shown earlier. Despite the change they would still be relative in power even more so if even Base Goku held off the Fake Gohan, whos power is the same as the real Gohan who stomped Base Super Buu. And also, Goku has never stated or implied that it was the circumstances of their situation as being the reason for his hesitation.
Second was the statement of him claiming that he could've beaten Fat Buu earlier on when they fought. My problem here is straightforward and similar the first, in that Goku has only specifically stated he could've beaten FAT Buu and has never implied he was stronger than Super Buu. Also, I've always had problems with Toriyama's statements since sometimes they do become contradictory and confusing, this comparison being one of them. Most of the contexts when it comes to the characters strengths implies as Gohan being the stronger fighter in DBZ, like towards the end of the kid buu fight, Goku wanted to send Gotenks or Gohan to fight Kid buu before Vegeta mentions the spirit bomb. You could argue that he still just wanted the next generation to take the savior role from him, but just the fact that Goku thought that Gotenks could still fight Kid Buu really means that Gotenks was still comparable in strength to Goku. And well, you know who's stronger than Gotenks: Gohan. So at the bare minimum, Gohan equals ssj3 Goku. But honestly, I still think Gohan is stronger, there is still evidence to back it up.
