- Dragon Ball Z! If you've ever watched Dragon Ball Z, you're more than likely acquainted with Majin Buu, a villain who went through several different transformations and gave the heroes a very tough battle! From the gentle-looking Fat Buu, the intelligent Super Buu, to the crazy Kid Buu, it was supposedly easy to tell which form of Buu was the strongest. However, due to conflicts between the anime, the manga, and the guides, it has certainly changed the arguments over the years.
In this video, we go over a plethora of information to rank Buu's forms from weakest to strongest!

Meant to have it out earlier, but I had to re-render unfortunately. I really hope that you guys enjoy! I'm closing in on 100,000 subscribers and I cannot thank you guys enough for the massive opportunity. I will have more stuff out this month. All of the evidence will be in the description below!
To debunk some idiotic "counterarguments", I'll lay them out here.
1. "genki does not work the same as ki/genki is not the same as ki"
Okay? We never once stated or implied that they are the same thing. The spirit bomb is derived from life energy which has proven to be exponentially powerful and regardless of the source, it's still an energy-based attack that has destructive power. It's stated by King Kai that if it's misused, the spirit bomb can destroy a planet, and we know that it has the capability to kill even those who are pure of heart. Gohan & the other Z-fighters giving their genki would provide higher results than a standalone energy attack. Even after giving their genki, Goku stated that it wouldn't be enough to kill Buu. Energy from Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and trillions+ humanoids across the Afterlife, Namek, & Earth would in fact yield higher levels of power than even Gohan's standard ki alone, and nothing contradicts that. The Daizenshuu LITERALLY says that it has immeasurable power, proving it's superior to Super Buu & Gohan, and it can even be argued that it means it'd be above Vegito & Buuhan as well. If genki wasn't exponential or more effective than "normal" ki in some situations, then why was Zamasu cut by a genki-based sword despite receiving energy from characters who are far weaker than SSJB Goku? Why was Goku's Universe 7 spirit bomb far superior in RAW POWER to his own SSJB Kaioken x20 Kamehameha? Exactly.
2. "but Goku or Ultimate Gohan could have killed Kid Buu."

Uhh, no. Goku & Vegeta DID theorize that a full-power Kamehameha could have vaporized Buu, but as the fight is dragging on, Goku says that Kid Buu is toying with him and even says that they should have fused. The guides do say that Goku & Kid Buu were fighting blow for blow and were on equal footing initially, keyword, initially, because Buu was holding back during that fight. The Daizenshuu says that even a full-power SSJ3 Goku could not beat him. Additionally, it's confirmed in a V-Jump guide that SSJ3 Goku is least equal to Ultimate Gohan, meaning that Gohan would also not be able to defeat him. Which, given the plausible zenkais Goku got in the manga, it makes sense.
3. "Gohan was stated to be the strongest non-fused fighter."
When? I dug through several interviews and guides and that has never, EVER, been stated. It's just a fan rumor, which although does have credibility within the context of the series, Goku has several sources & statements to imply that he is at least relative, if not stronger than Gohan, even within the manga. It doesn't really matter for ranking Buu anyways.
4. "Spirit Bomb is inconsistent and that was just for plot"
Okay? It's not my job to excuse why something works or doesn't work within the series, I'm not the writer. I'm merely trying to make sense of the plot and try to explain things that I can infer from what's stated in the series. Whether it's plot or not, what happened, happened, and there's no changing that.
5. "Kid Buu was simply more dangerous, not stronger"
Although this is the case within the manga, the anime literally states over 5 times that he is the most powerful and strongest Buu, which is confirmed by a guide too. Despite the contradictions, that's what was stated. There's no contesting it.

When it comes to super buu vs kid buu, I compare how well ssj3 Goku does against them. On one hand, against super buu Goku thinks he (even with vegeta) has no chance. Whereas against kid buu, he was at least somewhat confident to beat him.

I'll debunk this myself. Vegeta's near death experience before his death on namek was after getting pummeled by frieza and shot in the chest and still surviving. Gokus death was instantaneous due to exploding, so no boost wold have been acquired there.

Goku > Fat Buu
Super Buu > Fat Buu
Gohan > Super Buu
Gohan > Super Buu + Piccolo + Goten + Trunks (not fused)
Buuhan > Goku + Vegeta (not fused)
Kid Buu = Goku
Now way Kid Buu is stronger than Buuhan. And it doesn't matter what anime states: events are much more important than statements.

*TO BE FAIR:* Kid Buu wasn't resisting the Spirit Bomb itself, he was resisting Goku's Ki PUSHING the Spirit Bomb - since he was exhausted.
After the wish was made, and Goku got his Ki back, the amount of Genki in the Spirit Bomb was still the same. And it pulverized Kid Buu.
In the end it wasn't the Genkidama's energy that changed, it was Goku's.

Gokul was weakened when pushing the spirit bomb, this is emphasized when goku gets his power restored then SUDDENLY he shoves the bomb because the gen kai needed force behind it which goku lacked till his power restoration. Using the spirit bomb to infer kid buu is more powerful is literal subhuman reasoning and then using super which has ROSHI shoving base majin buu people around is ridiculous
Goku has never thrown a spirit bomb while not being weakened incredibly. Its his last resort type of attack.
When he fights vegeta he's on his last leg, when he uses it against frieza its the same thing, same when he uses it against buu and more recently he was very weakened when he used it against jiren as well. Don't think he's very used a spirit bomb at full strength or stamina.

Goku got a Zenkai from being revived. This is confirmed by Vegeta being revived on Namek, he talks about being stronger and having got a Zenkai. This is most likely the cause and reasoning behind this

So if y'all think Buuhan is strong than Kid Buu, you might as well say Buutenks is stronger than Buuhan.
Vegeta also says he can take on Frieza from the time he dies to the time he gets wished back. No way Vegeta trained in anyway to get a power boost that fast. But wasn't it implied that Base Goku was 100x stronger than Mystic Gohan? In the official Guide book, it says that Goku and Vegeta fought the Z Fighter clones were the exact same strength as the real thing. It's also states Goku and Vegeta were recovering from using fusion and was only a 1/100 time their strength. If I remember correctly wasn't..... wasn't Goku using SSJ3 against Kid Buu? @@danielbottlik2604 I think I made a mistake. Just from goku's quotes I put super buu over kid buu. Goku claimed to be able to kill kid buu alone had he took the fight seriously and also claimed that super buu would kill him and vegeta if they fought him without fusion. Regardless those two forms are the only forms debatable.
@@1994Trill I agree that's the only debatable thing, but I disagree because goku said super buu's ki was rising when he became buff and then didn't mention anything about his ki once he became kid buu. I think goku underestimating kid buu due to his size (goku and vegeta joke about his size and look relieved once buu goes from buff to kid) and the zenkai boosts goku got throughout the arc are good explanations for why he thought he could beat kid buu (which he ended up not being able to do anyways).
@@danielbottlik2604 When buu reverted into being buff, that was the version of him that was made after he absorbed the strongest kai. Out of all the kais, only one was able to give kid buu problems. After buu absorbed him, he became the buff buu that we saw. So kid buu plus that strong kai makes sense to have been stronger than super buu. But after he got back small I figured he lost that kai's power for whatever reason because kid buu was his original form

But as I said before, for them to say dangerous it depends on how it's used; moreover, in this case it's talking about strength not just violence or destruction because if that's the case Buuhan would be the most dangerous due to his destruction to the reality and universe he gave when yelling. You can't define dangerous as it's own meaning especially in this case. Mangawise, I'd say Buuhan is the strongest either way due to fears in which kid buu was stated to be the most dangerous non Fused Buu whereas anime Kid/Pure Buu is the strongest period due to writer affiliation and feats.

Super really fucked z up. In super fat buu all of sudden has always had the kis ki in him since separation. Which should make him the strongest buu when he was whole. Arguable buuhan or buutanks could be stronger but they havw hyped up south ki so hard its hard to think that they were stronger.

SSJ Gotenks was supposed to be around SSJ3 Goku’s level. Then Gotenks went Super Saiyan 3 and still had a tough time against Super Buu.

No one got any Zenkais in this saga or in the cell saga, that's all bullshit. Goku wasn't even near death one time in this saga for it to be possible. If they happened to exist in this saga, the only people who would have them are Gohan and Vegeta, they're the only ones who were beat to near-death, twice.
I'm fine with a kid buu vs super buu debate, as long as we know buuhan and buutenks are stronger however one can say kid buu was able to push back the spirit bomb because goku was fatigued notice how once he got his energy back he easily won

I don't really remember them saying or implying goku received zenkais that made him stronger when he fought kid buu. That seems like a big assumption and head canon. But I personally always thought base super buu and kid buu were around equal in power, but kid buu is more savage and ruthless and also has better regeneration abilities and can dip into it's well of power better.. I don't really think the spirit bomb is a good thing to base stuff off of though it's pretty unreliable when it comes to scaling. In the tournament of power it prob shouldn't have been as strong as it was from universe 7's fighters excluding vegeta.
James McElroy Yeah same here. Zenkais are plot devices that they brought in "when they needed it". So therefore it was always mentioned at crucial times as to when they happened. If a Saiyan gets their asses kicked and nothing is mentioned then you can safely assume that the bad writing is canon and for that instance, the Saiyan didn't get a zenkai boost.
James McElroy goku I agree that goku did not get zenkai boosts during his fight before kid buu but he did before then.
Saiyans get zenkai boosts in near death experiences but they need to be healed after that.they don't get zenkai boosts by dying

The Manga clearly said the ONLY reason Kid Boo paused the spirit Bomb was because goku didn’t have enough power left to unleash the attack properly.
The bomb power itself was not the factor, it was the force goku put behind the throw of the attack.
And once goku was able to put enough pushing force behind it, the attack succeeded
Really doesn't matter. Considering it's by far the most powerful sprit bomb created up until that point and that alone speaks volumes about kid buus power. Not to mention Goku was in extremely drained states the times he used it against freiza and Vegeta as well. So Goku actually used a 50x his base power behind the most powerful spirit bomb.

The power of the bomb was not a factor as to why boo was able to staff it. It was strictly gokus drained power state.

7:53 Gohan, yes is clearly stronger than kid buu and super buu so his energy alone may have been enough, BUT Goku also didnt have the power to “unleash” the spirit bomb, which is why he was gettin pushed back and dende had to wish for gokus power to be restored
Goku told Vegeta that they can not beat Buuhan alone. That’s why Goku insisted on fusing with Vegeta. When the Supreme Kai asked Goku to fuse to fight Kid Buu he just broke the Potara earings because he believed Super Saiyan 3 was enough to beat Kid Buu. Buuhan is stronger

I always look at this conversation in terms of the definition of power. You can say that Buuhan is stronger, which is what I believe. But, Kid Buu doesn’t restrain himself. So, in combat one can assume Buuhan until he fought and nearly died to Vegito held back his ki. However, Kid Buu was always at full throttle. Like an animal compared to a fighter. Buuhan limited himself to an extent, as it’s shown the personality affects Buu. Kid Buu however just wants to play Murder time.
I feel that when they are calling Kid Buu the "strongest," it should've been written as the "most dangerous." That one change would've killed the contradiction, as Buuhan is the strongest, but he is still in control of his faculties, while in that form. Meanwhile, Kid Buu, despite being weaker than Buuhan, is more chaotic and dangerous. Kid Buu, unlike the other versions, immediately and outright decides to waste Earth, just 'cause. Honestly, I wouldn't be 100% opposed to arguing that Super Buu is stronger--even just a little--than Kid Buu; however--once again--his chaotic evil behavior makes him the most dangerous. That would also explain why Goku and Vegeta would comment about him like he's nothing, saying that they can take him, only for Kid Buu to suddenly say "know what? Fuck this." And blow up the planet, outright--no warning. Or even having the two be equal in capabilities...

In the original japanese and english manga, Buuhan is heavily implied to be the strongest Buu whilst Kid Buu is called the most dangerous and reckless. There are multiple occasions where the Anime is inconsistent with and sometimes completely deviates from the original source material

I personally think what Goku meant by Kid Buu being the strongest foe he has ever fought, was that Kid Buu was the strongest that wasn't fused with any other characters. In episode 278, Goku says Kid Buu is not a fused being anymore which makes it more fair of a fight. This is even after Goku and Vegeta fused. Before fusion, Goku knew he had to fuse with ANYONE to even have a chance to beat Buuhan, to the point where he got so desperate that he was contemplating fusing with Mr. Satan, BUT once Kid Buu emerged, Goku AND Vegeta felt like they could 1v1 Kid Buu. Yall gotta remember goku was extremely fatigued by the time he gathered and threw the spirit bomb which played a very big part in kid buu stopping the spirit bomb before they wished goku back to full energy. You can argue that goku's zenkai after being wished to full energy helped but keep in mind goku was on par with kid buu the whole fight and if memory serves me right he stated he could've beaten kid buu but he wanted to give vegeta a shot (smh). I could be wrong considering it's been a while but I am quite sure if goku used a spirit bomb as early as possible during the kid buu fight that kid buu wouldn't have been able to stop it

The thing about Fat Buu is that he has two forms: Evil Fat Buu and Good Fat Buu, the latter which is the weakest. Fat Buu got weaker when he turned good, which was shown and stated.
Evil Fat Buu >= SSJ3 Goku
SSJ3 Goku >= Kid Buu
Thus, it stands to reason that Evil Fat Buu > Kid Buu > Good Fat Buu. It also makes sense that Evil Fat Buu is > Kid Buu, due to Good Fat Buu being able to hold his own and spar with Kid Buu for a prolonged period of time. Granted, it was shown that he was clearly weaker, but not so much weaker that it was considered a stomp.

There is no statement in the anime that goku gained extra power(zenkai) that he didn't already have. What was said was that he was hiding his full power. Goku punching buuhan just showed he was able to handle a punch while buuhan was giving vegeta too much attention. Him going against kid buu as a ssj2 was used to show that kid buy was above that level of power especially since when kid buu decided to change the landscape and laugh as if to say "this is just a taste" goku states kid buu had essentially doubled up then turns ssj3.

This "the strongest forms are the smallest" is such bullshit, the strongest forms can be bigger or smaller. Vegeta's strongest form in Saiyan Saga is Oozaru, Cell stays roughly the same size, Buu's strongest form is the biggest, while most of Super's characters stay the same size. Damn, even the strongest SSJ form in Z had the biggest hair. Freeza was literally the only villain that had the most power in his smallest form.
