Brooo if you would have wet sanded before you clear coated it would have been flawless. Then you should have wet sanded the clear coat and finished it with a polish would look like glassy gold instead of a fake flat gold. Gold is always gloss never flat when you get something actually platted. Just FYI for your future paints. Adhesive, primer, color coats, wet sand(recommended 1500 grit), water dish soap wash, dry, clear coats, wet sand (1500 again), water dish soap wash again, polishing compound medium grit, polishing compound fine (wax on wax off Daniel son), wipe with damp rag, wipe with dry rag. Best finish you could possibly ever get out of can paint I promise you.
Everything can be improved. I’ve done countless paints on similar items and wet sanding and polishing will give you a full on glass look not saying he did a bad job but that step alone takes the project to the next level. You can try to argue with facts but anyone that knows anything about custom paints knows that wet sanding improves your finish.
@@Devonx777 still holding up just getting a little dirty. Fired it only once after painting it. But to be honest I would go with cerakoting it if I were looking to do it again
Well done bro, I know it’s not quite as easy as you make it look! You covered all your bases and thought of pretty much everything. It came out great! I’m about to do mine, wish me luck 🤞
A few tips. You can put a chop stick or something similar into the box and then tape it for added support so you can stick the slide onto it and not have to worry about lifting it up to paint the under side of the edge. Also do not get your face that close to paints, especially metallic. You're inhaling bits of metal and that will fuck you up.
Nice, I think I’m going to have to spray my 23 too, and maybe the mag plates. Good looking video young sir, I like how you started with daylight, then made the sun go down; very artistic.
@@vongiftedtv7864 it actually went really good, but when i posted that comment☝🏽 i painted it chrome but abt a week ago i painted it this “fire fighter red” or sum like that and its nice
Think this could work with an revolver as well? I have an old revolver the barrel and cylinder are nice chrome but the body could use some work. I was debating making the body black while leaving the barrel and cylinder chrome with a nice wood grip. Just wonder how well it would do in and out of a holster.
Good tutorial. I just paint my g26 slide black with a 2k clear coat. It’s drying now. I’m nervous about pulling the paper off. Any recommendations? Is this a grip it and rip it deal or should I pull slowly? I’m probably putting too much thought into this. Lmfao
Looks great. Just one tip if you would've gave it a light sanding with 400 grit sand paper after every other coat it would've came out a lil better. Still your joint is overall 🔥
By sitting in his drawer and never leaving? Probably great! In a tactical standpoint where it hits the ground on accident. Or dropped. It will ruin the finish.
No, I didn’t. My project came out fine without that step but I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if you did. As long as the grease, dirt, and oil is removed prior you should be good. 👌🏽
Really looks good . But when you're spraying each pass you make is one coat . So when you go back and forth you are adding a layer . I would really liked to have seen when he took the tape off . A follow up video of that would have been nice to see . But otherwise it looks good .
Ur spray paint skills aint bad, but dont squeeze paint trigger mid way or too late past start point.. smooth long movements and less is better because u can always add more after instead of ceeating more work 4 yourself.. but good job g💯
Who would've guessed that old Microwave box would come in handy... Thanks, Tariq St. Patrick lol
😂😂
A not gonna lie it turned out clean lookin.
After 4 years, do the paint hold? Did you needed to repainted?
