In response to Eduardo Porzecanski and his appropriate "acompaniante" with quotes, if one looks at the volume, Beethoven titled this and all his violin sonatas "Sonaten fuer Klavier und Violine". That clarifies the matter, does it not? Most satisfying performance in full respect of Beethoven. Thank you for the posting.
A rather slow interpretation of "Presto", but the rhythmic clarity creates a satisfying forward momentum. As a listener, I find that in much faster performances, I don't have time to process the development of the themes until they are already over. This recording has grown on me.
In this performance of the Allegro Molto - compared to NAXOS recent disc, this sounds like a Schubert skipping tune, very lax and deprived of Beethoven's rhythmic verve.
Ещё один бриллиант Бетховена в прекрасном исполнении выдающегося музыканта Давида Ойстраха!
David Oistrakh is one of the greatest violinists ever!

Yes, it's sublime this way, isn't it.
Simply love this performance. Good rythym for the presto (too fast is rarely satisfying); beautiful sound.

He was a foul-mouthed hedgehog, but what would we without him?
