  • This was the Australian F/A-18 fighter jet display at the 2018 Wings Over Illawarra Airshow.
The Wings Over Illawarra Airshow is an event that is held annually at the Illawarra Regional Airport in Albion Park Rail, New South Wales. The event showcases a vast range of historical military aircraft from Australia and around the world, commercial aircraft and many currently serving aircraft, as well as helicopter rides, classic cars, Motorcross events, free rides and food stalls. Also present is the retired Qantas "City of Canberra" Long-Reach aircraft, which is a Boeing 747-400 registered VH-OJA. VH-OJA set the record for the longest unrefuelled flight undertaken by a commercial aircraft as it flew from London's Heathrow Airport to Kingsford Smith International Airport in Sydney, completing a total distance of 9,720 nautical miles (18,001km) in 20 hours and 9 minutes.
This airshow is must-see event and is recommended that every family and group of friends should attend at least once in their lifetimes.

Does anyone know why the F/A18's didn't fly in the morning on Sunday? This is Sunday afternoon footage. I saw these 2 flying past Wollongong beach heading north after the Air Show finished, hot dogging it up the picture perfect crystal clear Illawarra coastline with the sun going down. What a job, lucky buggers. LOL.
