the entire existence of vay hek is a genius tactical choice because they make the fight with him so annoying that you will most likely rage quite half way through the fight without even killing him insuring that he will live on
Mod your Dex Sybaris for radiation damage, it gets easier. Hell, I was even able to solo the bastard with Atlas because of that glorious gun. Still an annoying fight because Hek flies with the grace of a crashing helicopter, but, with Dex Sybaris you can at least do more damage than he can heal in the segment before he resorts to his Terra Frame.

This is why Tyl Ragor is my favorite Badass Boss, His Smart, Strong, Fast, and creative, but like any other grineer... selfishly nieve and mentally unstable, it's his madness and physical body that make him a formidable opponent, but sadly his mad genius is also the reason he falls, it outrages him when he comes across you cuz he actually is jealous of the tenno, almost seemingly perfect in design, and such power, yet, out of his control, he tryed to even make his own super soldiers Maniacs, like father like son I sapose, someone so smart and strong would be better to lead the Steel Meridian, but sadly just to much evil in his heart and mind... sad to see such a good looking clone wasted, to decay at the bottom of the ocean, luckily, he died where he loved to be... in his lab with his own statue... rest in peace buddy, you'll always be my favorite boss fight.
Just because a few people have asked it, Grineer who defect or who consider defecting would be absurdly low, so low as to not even be in the hierarchy. It's not really fair to even classify them as part, since they are distinctly apart from it. It would be like trying to rank tofu burgers on a meat scale. They are not on the same wavelength. However, if it really had to be quantified, it would be lower than you could imagine. Ostracization beyond comprehension, and a disgust that would be unparalleled. They are denying their very purpose, their sole reason for existence in the eyes of the Grineer, and are thus unworthy of any distinction. They would certainly not be allowed to return, even should they swear fealty to the Queens once more, and would be killed on sight if they were lucky. Their genetic material would likely not even be worthy to rejoin as a new Grineer, their very physical presence forever tainted by their hideous betrayal.
Vay Hek presents a large number of questions based on his position and the information stated about him. For starters his rank of councillor is unusual in that the ranks name cleary indicates it is a non-military rank. It's a government/civilian rank. That he is called councillor means there must be a council of grineer who serve some undefined purpose in the grineer society. Are they a council of advisors to the queens? or a governing council who handle the day to day affairs that the queens can focus on their own objectives? We see that vay hek has considerable oversight and influence within grineer society. The whole fomorian initiative for instance shows just how big his projects can be. And his repeated utter failures suggest just how secure/powerful his position his and the level of trust the queens have him in as he has not been removed. Is it possible there are grineer "civilians" as whatshernames mission briefing even points out that all female grineer are required to undergo a term of military service. A term is not a permanent posting meaning that eventually their term in the military will end and then where does the grineer trooper go? Are there a load of grineer cities somewhere with civilian grineer engaging in non-military labour for their society? Could it be these that vay heks power is rooted in? Also the court is mentioned in said briefing. If all grineer females or at least a large number of them spend time at this court then it must be rather large. Do they fulfil any role in Grineer society and how do they relate to the council? Nothing but questions. All from vay fucking hek.
Daniel Luby the there is in fact a council and vay hek is a political figure and that Kela Dr thaym is a member of said council, don't ask me where I got this info I am grineer so I know
I liked the Rathuum event simply because it gave insight to what little downtime/recreation the grineer have. Of course, it still involves murdering people but I digress.
If you listen to the next thing I say, I explain what I mean. There is no "Aww fuck, guess this one is a dud, throw it away" for the Grineer. It's only "OK, this one came out with no arms, no legs, and only one eye. Cool, new breeding pod monitor."
Maybe you should have mention of those who defect? Like those from Steel Meridian? The are no longer part of the Grineer, but how would you rate them in the Hierarchy? They had enough independece to actually leave and form a resistence of sorts.
Aki145 Well Steel Meridan aren't the only defected, there's those hammer wielding fellas from the more recent tactical alert too. I'd imagine the Grineer sees them as traitors and just wants to kill them (like the hammer bros.) Seems their style.
Given what we're finding out about the origins of the Twin Queens from the Kuria, I think your talk about them following the Queens with some sort of religious zeal may be more on the head than your video talks about. I look forward to a video on them, especially given the seeming matter of them not having come from Grineer clone stock themselves.
Shit gets wierd when the queens are involved , at first I was like ok these guys are ruthless warrior race but at the end of the war within I was scratching my head saying what the fuck just happened
What scares me is the fact that their cloning process depends on dead Grineer becoming 'recycled' into the cloning vats. I am surprised they haven't become desperate enough to abduct colonists and human unfortunates with the 'fitting' or 'close enough' genetic code needed to replace the already existing clones.
They could very well be like the Dalek from Doctor Who, and feel that Grineer are the most superior race. If that's the case, they wouldn't want to sully their "purity" by adding in new human genetics. That's likely why they have so many resources invested in cleaning up, repairing and improving existing genetic templates.
These are really interesting lore videos you're making, StallordD. You're pointing out things I could never even begin to imagine, even though it's always been right in front of me. All your theories make so much sense, with all the sources you connect and such. You should really keep making these, man! Hi. This video is masterfully done. I liked it! As I just got into a Warframe phaze (and brought some unfortunate souls into it as well), I journeyed across the net for Warframe OSTs and recent lore. Foolish I was, not realizing the lore was THIS deep already. You opened my eyes to a whole horizon.
+DarkWraitH That has some poetic justice, because I bet those disobedient Grineer are just not subservient enough to females. Too bad it's a whip, though. If it had a decent stance, I'd use it.

I really love the lore of the Grineer, they are like if the clones from Star Wars did order 66 and gained independance creating a new power in the galaxy. Though of course their ideals are quite corrupt and the leaders are tyrants, I still like them more than the Corpus who are more technological and spoiled. The grineer have a lot of fighting spirit I feel.
I almost feel bad for the Grineer. All this investment, time, resources and effort into producing, admoring and arming soldiers… Just for some bright pink Rhino to splatter the soldier against the nearest wall as paste with a comically-overpowered weapon. The input doesn’t equal the output.
As a aside comment - this type of theory also fits with the Clone Degeneration part of the Grineer lore as well. For example, there's no real signs of 'promotion' in the Grineer - only for a higher-level commander to be demoted or shifted to a new project or plan. A few good examples came in the form of Vor's demotion and Hek's plans getting pulled after the major resource wasting he's done with the Cizero Toxin and Fomorion projects.
...Actually on second thought, there is SOME situations where promotion is seen- Kela De Thaym and Letch Kril were basic warriors at one point, but they gained so much (for lack of a better term, 'street cred') that they are treated as actual bosses and major characters.
Thank goodness I came across you. I've always been interested in Warframe Lore but DKDiamantes' videos are absurdly long and lazily edited/scripted (maybe because they aren't edited or scripted at all). Are you going someday a video more about The Queens? Because I have a lot of questions about The Queens, their rules, their purpose and more. Anyway, great video about the Grineer.
I really liked Captain Vor. Such a single, but great goal. It wasn't conquering or grineer politics. He just wanted childrens and grandchildrens. When he failed, he only got a scold compared to others and still, he was crumbling on the inside.
Wait we have sentients right also now the sentients have the Lotus Also some sentients like the Eldilon killed warframes or even used them to come from a different plain of existence what we see with Revenant
Hey Stall. You think you're gonna do an entry vid related to or going in depth about the Sentients? Especially given the huge lore carpet bombing that was the Natah quest?
Hmm.. Warframe has most certainly changed a lot over the last 2+ years. Just look at Kela de Thaym's design! And is it just me that thinks Grineer has been "dumbed down" over the years. I felt there was a much greater challenge facing them 2 years ago than what they are today! *Stand by while I analyze the intelligence profiles of the Grineer . . . Error! Not a number!*
What about the defeaters? Those known as the steel meridian, they seem to have a purpose or at least goal different from most grineer. Even the intention to protect rather then conquer is quite a change.
maramanasa The Steel Meridian are not Grineer. They are clones that were born into the Grineer order but defected. Grineer defines a clone under the matriarchy, not the clones themselves.
StallordD "Lead by a battle-hardened Grineer deserter, the Steel Meridian fight a guerrilla war against a vast enemy. They are sworn protectors of what little remains of the colonies. The Grineer are not often seen as valorous individuals, but time and again members of their leadership have displayed a certain code of honor. Members of Steel Meridian set aside their former allegiances to defend those who cannot defend themselves."Yeah.... no. "Grineer" is in fact the name of the clone.
Bruce Wayne "While there can be some confusion in the visual appearance of their soldiers the Steel Meridian, by definition, are not Grineer. Grineer refer to all those who serve the will of the Queens. The Steel Meridian are a Syndicate of former Grineer who have chosen a new guiding purpose for themselves. Despite sharing physical similarities to other clone soldiers, their personal philosophies has labeled them as deserters to the Grineer cause. Their work in defending civilian colonies from outside invaders has earned them an honorable reputation. Were it not for this, the Lotus would have never allowed them privileged refuge on Tenno Relays. This sanctity of life is the distinction between the Grineer and Steel Meridian forces." -"Ask a Cephalon" 25
I wanted to know more about the maniacs. Why the hell are they so deadly and crazy? What happens in the cloning process? Or where they augmented like that on perpous?
Tyl Regor has made great strides not only in reversing genetic degradation, but in the creation of new augmented strains. It's why he was a high profile assassination target.

Hey Stall. You think you're gonna do an entry vid related to or going in depth about the Sentients? Especially given the huge lore carpet bombing that was the Natah quest?
"Brutally efficient"
StallordD
"Lead by a battle-hardened Grineer deserter, the Steel Meridian fight a guerrilla war against a vast enemy.
Bruce Wayne
"While there can be some confusion in the visual appearance of their
soldiers the Steel Meridian, by definition, are not Grineer. Grineer
refer to all those who serve the will of the Queens. The Steel Meridian
are a Syndicate of former Grineer who have chosen a new guiding purpose
for themselves. Despite sharing physical similarities to other clone
soldiers, their personal philosophies has labeled them as deserters to
the Grineer cause.
Their work in defending civilian colonies from outside invaders has
earned them an honorable reputation. Were it not for this, the Lotus
would have never allowed them privileged refuge on Tenno Relays. This
sanctity of life is the distinction between the Grineer and Steel
Meridian forces."

You remind me of VaatiVidya, but with Warframe instead of Dark Souls.
Or Byf
i read hierarchy as heresy at first
You missed two things out, they were also builders thousands of years ago and deteriote as they age
Intentionally omitted. This was about the Grineer hierarchy, not comprehensive of their physicality.
StallordD omg ur the second RUclipsr who has replied to me, and oh oke
They’re cool but my real favourite are the sentients
2:27 is that the grineer queen? :o
Husa is that you ?
Great work. What is your new mic?
Terrorist939 Blue Snowball.
StallordD Tis a good mic
Should do Orokin hierarchy
I wanted to know more about the maniacs. Why the hell are they so deadly and crazy? What happens in the cloning process? Or where they augmented like that on perpous?
Tyl Regor has made great strides not only in reversing genetic degradation, but in the creation of new augmented strains. It's why he was a high profile assassination target.
