I was just so, so glad they didn't do the whole "speaking English with an Italian accent" bs that has been big in US television before. So good that they actually speak Italian amongst themselves on the show.

Yessss, it felt way more authentic and actually entertaining. When the Italian actors spoke Italian, they had a certain character that way added w the accent and it was interesting.
i know that it’s transactional but their relationship is so sweet to me. it’s so meaningful for valentina

I agree, I think it blurs the lines between transactional and genuine. I feel Mia likes Valentina as a person wants to show her a good time beyond wanting the job from her. Plus, the power dynamic sort of, I don't know, evens out a little with Mia being the more experienced one. Mia offering to be her wing woman, wanting to hang out even after she secured the job as the singer...it's very sweet.

Yeah, I don’t think Valentina felt taken advantage of at all. They didn’t abuse each other in the transaction lol.
They both were truly happy afterwards , I think that makes it different from Lucia and Albie and his dad. None of them felt bad afterwards, got what they dreamed of and seem to be able to work together.
Valentina is the MVP of the show in my book! She steals every scene.
It took a while to understand who she was but by the end of the series, I think she was my favourite character.

i like how they had people speaking italian instead of making them speak english! i hope they continue that for next season

Yes yes yes, showing the locals and giving them a proper spotlight added so much to this season compared to S1! I hope that wherever they go in S3, they'll properly show a bit of the culture of the place as a whole
this series shows the things that we dont talk about it in public ..thats why its unique. from bad marriages to hidden emotions ..well done HBO
I think the same thing when I’m watching! God it’s so uncomfortable at times to watch, I wanna turn my head! Lol it’s really entertaining though.
Sabrina is probably the most charming actress on this show, her interview with Kimmel was so sweet, she is so gorgeous and amazing. I hope this is the start of many many high profile roles for her.
my favourite scene in season 2, other than the entire shooting scene ( the most iconic scene is all tv history ), i would say is when Valentina was eating pasta she brought from home behind the hotel in some alleyway, while feeding some kittens. It's scenes like these that really explains a character without having to say anything. And it was a very cute scene amidst all the portia scenes
Yes, the best dramas or movies are able to have those important scenes without dialogue. It can talk much. The kitten scene was memorable and who is Valentina? So much more as time moved on.
*VALENTINA'S FACE!* Her facial expressions tell the entire story, she hardly has to speak!! God I love her so much!!! ❤❤❤

These two don’t get enough credit. Awesome. Valentina appearance on Jimmy was endearing. So genuine. This was a fun one to watch.
The Valentina story of her not being out, ready to come out was actually important and quite significant. The hope of the drink with her fellow female colleague and she was reading more into it because of what she had said to Valentina in an earlier episode, that was so deflating for Valentina when being told by her crush she was newly engaged to a man, her colleague! Much of today's tv drama is focused on those who are comfortably out. This focused on the opposite and her road to being at peace with her herself after being on her 'date'! It was handled with sensitivity but with a sparkle of humour. Brilliant.
Loving this 2nd season. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be as good, but I shouldn't have been. Mike White is incredibly talented. Love the entire cast, but a shout out to the Italian casting professionals who found some exceptional Italian talent. Sabrina and Beatrice are fantastic and I loved this scene. Cheers 🍸🍷
Sabrina is so amazing in this show and you can see as she talks she takes her character and her work very seriously.
both got from the relationship something that profoundly changed their lives for the better. and although it was transactional, it seemed clear each of them truly cared for each other.

All women from this season deserve the Emmy tbh, but it's especially hard to choose between Sabrina, Meghan and Jennifer. Maybe Jennifer not so much, since she won last time. But this season her performance was even better... 😫

All the actors in this series are incredible. But I feel these girls and Simona, they should've gotten much much more recognition. Such subtle and amazing performances, and the fact their characters helped each other, it's a cool partnership.

Although everyone is saying Jennifer Coolidge stole the show, but I think Sabrina chewed every scene she was in! I loved her! The Peppa Pig scene was hilarious

As an Italian I'm very proud of her. I didn't know that Sabrina Impacciatore is so successfull in the Usa.
I've never watched The White Lotus on italian Tvs.
She has always been a very good actress, not only a comedian, but I remember she always worked too on the screenplay of the shows she was in.
She's just not an actress but always made a good work as a scriptwriter.
I'm very happy that many people in the Usa think she's funny and good actress.

Turns out that the Peppa Pig line was an ad libbed by Sabrina Impacciatore. And Jennifer Coolidge didn't know what Peppa Pig was. So she just took it with stride. So Funny.

Episode 5 was better paced than Episode 6. I don't feel we learnt enough in the key plot lines in episode 6.

Omg ep 5 was the peak of tragedy, i really hope so. It was so barbaric, chaotic, sooo cringe. I felt so sad for sweet portia😣
I think that what we actually never thought about was the deeper side of the stories. Ethan most likely exhibited different behavior than the other guys in the dorm . Cameron knew those things or enough of them . Harper might have been one of maybe a few dates he actually had. The way he prepared himself for satisfying himself seems to have been very practiced . Everyone has painted Cameron as he is but he has the one thing that shows him in a different light that is his marriage. Daphne knows and understands him and he is more truthful with her . They love each other and I think that is deeper and if Harper and Cameron did anything I think Daphne might understand that. The final look on her face showed no smile . I also think the most problematic characters are Tanya and Portia and the Dom who brought Lucia and Mia. No one is an Angel , but Dom has an even effect because he unleashed so much including on his father and son. His father is 80. His son an idealist . We also forgot the facts that Mia’ gave the drug that sent the lounge entertainer to the hospital and Portia is no help to a very troubled Tanya. Strange as it may seem the supposed number one villain might not be the one. Good old Cameron. He has an alcohol drug problem but does really love Daphne. Harper is also a lawyer who may have clients involved with those harassment lawsuits. Let us not forget that.

She seems super sweet but Beatrice is the weak link in the cast for me. Everyone else is top notch but all her scenes are very unnatural and overdone. I wonder if they kept her as they needed an actor for this part who could sing
