Great video. I’ve thought about entering this the last two years so good to get an idea of what it’s actually like. Frustrating but fun at the same time😆Good stuff 👊🏻
@@danabc322 A friend of mine did it and it was on Strava, so I'm guessing the GPS thing they carry can be used to upload the run. Because otherwise what's the point 😂😂😂

We set our watches off before putting them in the sealed bag. You can then crop activities within Strava once uploaded to remove the bus journey. I had no idea that was even possible!
@@AlPepperRuns I’ve got a local race called the Coley Canter on 30th December and a couple of local league Cross-Country races. Main focus though is the GB Ultras Chester 50 in March, Lakeland Trails 100k in July then Robin Hood 100 mile in September. If you’re ever in the West Yorkshire region, happy to should you some of the local trails. 👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼 Have a great Christmas pal. 👌🏼
Cracking video and interesting concept. Enjoyed it thoroughly including the optimistic announcement that 25 was the winning number 😉
Thanks Andy! You know me… ever the optimist!
Great video! Gave me a great insight what to expect when i do the london version in march.... (What have i let myself in for!)
Ah, that’s brilliant! It’s a heck of a lot of fun… even more so when you get lost! Enjoy!
Loved it a ten from len something really different great chat and one liners thanks AL.
Haha, brilliant comment! Thanks Paul, really appreciate the feedback!
This looks proper fun! Great vid Al
Loved this! Another class video and what an event, such a cool idea.
Thanks Jamesy… let’s get another booked for 2024!
No sun to keep your bearings correct!! Nightmare 😂
It certainly didn’t help! That classic steel grey sky hid the sun entirely. Where’s a crisp, sunny, winter day when you need one?!
This looks like so much fun!
It really was! Getting lost made it all the better too! I’d definitely recommend it.
Brilliant stuff, looked like a whole lotta festive fun .... I think haha. Puppy was adorable! Thanks for getting that in the vid. RESPECT!
Thanks mate! It was a lot of fun! Yeah, that puppy was pretty cute wasn’t it.
Think the strategy next year should be to run with a local taxi driver
Great video. I’ve thought about entering this the last two years so good to get an idea of what it’s actually like. Frustrating but fun at the same time😆Good stuff 👊🏻
Ha, the dead ends were certainly frustrating - you know you’re just wasting mileage. However… that’s all part of the fun!
Missed opportunity for an ogee ogee ogee in that subway!
Haha, fair point! By that point we’d been running for what felt like a fortnight so all I had in me was an ‘echo’!
Great video, couldn't enter this year due to injury but hopefully doing it next year!
Thanks Carl! Might see you on the ‘start line’ next year. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
@@AlPepperRuns cheers! Should be back running very soon. Got my eye on 15th June for the next Newcastle drop 👍
I was literally shouting at my phone which way to go! That was brilliant.
Thanks Wayne! Haha, you obviously didn’t shout loud enough or we might not have got so lost… so often!
I luv coke
Can’t beat it when you need an energy boost mid-event!
That was fun! What a great concept. Nice puppy!
It really was a cute puppy wasn’t it! Like you say, cool concept too. I’d do another for sure.
Very rare do I laugh at a running video…..well done lol
Ha, thanks Kevin! I assume you mean that you laughed at our professional approach and podium finish though?
@@AlPepperRunsabsolutely yes, that is exactly what I was laughing at. Not your inability to read road signs from Cramlington to Newcastle;)
@@kevinscott4938 I thought so! Though it’s always best to check!
How do you put it on Strava without a watch of a phone!
I wonder if they’d let you use something like a Fitbit charge, which can track a run but can’t show any maps or directions?

@@AlPepperRunsbut on Garmin it would be uncropped?
Would tou do one in a city you dont know
Definitely! It’s on my to do list, think it would be even more fun!
@@AlPepperRuns think I would panic more in unfamiliar area
hilarious! so glad talked myself out of doing this!! would be loss without my watch's maps... and my phone's maps...
Glad you enjoyed it! You’d have been great though! I’m yet to see you not smash an event! No excuse but to sign up next year!
Still wonder what the cut-off time is
According to the website it’s 4.5 hours for the 15 miler however I imagine they’re a bit relaxed about it.
Ah man!! The drop off point was literally a mile from my front door!
Apologies for not replying sooner! Ha, that would have been good for you, you’d certainly have known your way around more than we did!
That looked great! Well done. Fantastic film as always. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Cheers mate! Have you got anything on before new year or just training for upcoming events?
