Kinda funny story I purchased a 2012 302 Laguna Seca a while back. Had never seen one in the streets. Literally pulled out of the dealership and 3 minutes later another LS passes me going the other way.
The VIN including P8C doesn't signify a Boss 302. P8C is the designation for a V8 coupe, which also covers all the normal GTs. What you should be looking for is a 'U' after the P8C, which DOES signify a Boss 302. A 'P8CF' would be a normal coupe GT.
Interesting ill have to dig into it more I thought I found that info from CJ Pony parts so ill look again and make an edit in the description thanks for the knowledge my friend, we are all just trying to help others out and im still learning every day

For 2013, production amounted to 4,273 cars, with 3,526 of the street version and 747 Laguna Seca editions. I own from new #2558 P/White with Recaro and Torsen 373 rear / Boss 302 Car Cover / Boss 302 Packet with all documentation / Red and Black Key - Red Key has not been activated - with 9,108 miles. Original Tires/Battery - Baffles removed - adult owned and operated - garaged - has never even seen rain. I don't think I will ever sell it unless necessary - but what is my Car Worth? Would love to know. Any Boss owners out there - please love and treasure these rare mustangs. So many have been lost through mods/attrition. Best to all.
Some good pointers! The Trackey is now $450 through Ford Racing. It’s a handheld you use yourself to flash the computer, but you still have to take the car and red key to a Ford dealer for programming, which isn’t included in the $450, so your looking at around $600 all in to get it operable on a car currently without it.
I plan on getting a boss to sit next to my modified 07 gt500 in the future I am going to modify the boss too. I don't care about the track key at all because I am going to get an actual tune plus other mods. That is the least of my worries. These cars are badass. Prob do a na 500+ rwhp build in an oem+ type fashion and make it even more of a corner carver than what it already is. That way I got the big power big torque gt500 with a gen3r for the straight line stuff and the high revving all motor boss for the twisties that can show alot of these bolt on 10r80 cars what these old s197 can do with the right tweaks and a wheel man behind the wheel aka driver mod haha. Love these cars ❤️
I'm going to ditch my track key when I get a blower. It's the goal for my channel and these bad boys can handle 1k safely as long as you change the OPGs
So they only made bosses in 12 and 13 unless you can source a Boss 302R or 302S built for racing from 14. But I get what you are asking, the only advantage is the track apps. I personally prefer the 12 front end and the 13 rear hence why I changed to 13 tail lights

Of all...make sure the damn owners kit is there. Still looking for my #2337 kit. Came up missing from a dealership before I bought it. Ford will NOT reproduce the full manuals. Yes you can get certs but cannot get the kit

To be extra certain read my pinned comment on this vid 😂. I was going with what my research found but a Ford engineer informed me it's not entirely the end all be all to be a Boss Vin
You'd also want to add the braided clutch line so you don't lose pedal feel under high heat and high use. The plastic line will sometimes expand and contract resulting in your pedal sticking to the floor from time to time

Cost me $1000. To purchase track key programmer and get downloaded through Ford Racing dealer in Canada two years ago. Was the only option available for me at time. Lucky Americans! Every thing is more affordable in your country.
I do the same but I do drive it when its nice out to enjoy it, thsts what its all about IMO. Up to 63k, which im ok with because ill never sell this car. Too much emotional attachment and memories with my kids

I'm looking at a 2012 boss 302. It has 66k on the clock. It has the standard B2 seats, it does have the track key, but not sure about the owners packet. I understand the transmissions have issues, can you elaborate? What other mechanical issues should I be looking for? TY
@@FE428Power MT82s are hit or miss, either you get a good one or you get a dud. The 5th gear is known for getting overpowered and basically turned into a neutral... at 66k miles id want a thorough test drive. Mine is at 63k and drives great and most boas owners take care of their toys but you don't want to end up with a pricey repair bill. The MY82 is also known for its lockout issues, but there are mods you can do to make it better. I installed a braided clutch line because the stock would deform under heat and you'd lose pedal. The MGW race spec short throw is on my car and I've never been locked out. Some people also put a better clutch in but mine is OEM at 63k and going. I hope this helps, of you need anything else let me know.

How does a short shifter save 5th gear
It wont save the gear however you won't miss shifts at 7.5-7.8k rpm and unintentionally grind the gears. Its more of a preventative measure imo
