With the tools that I had a available this was my only option. I broke the drill bit but I manage to drill into the screw enough to use the star bit. It worked!!! Thanks, @tipcentric!!
I have to try this. I have a small stripped kitchen knob screw that needs to be removed immediately. I wasn't sure how to do it other than buy a stripped removal tool which would take another 2 weeks to deliver. That's to long. Thank you MountainAngel
Why oh why do the people who lived in your house before you do they use the cheapest screws in the universe? I've spent hours ( in total) getting them out. That's going to help . Cheers!
@@tipcentric it took me a few tries since I’m not really sure what I’m doing it’s now a learning experience, but at least now I have this method to use again thanks to you!!
My elderly mum just had some bloke replace some door handles today. On closer inspection a lot of the screws he put in have the screw head absolutely stripped/destroyed. It looks like he actually drilled out the screw heads! That's not good is it? Seems like a right bodge job to me. Any replies would be appreciated cos I hate seeing my mum ripped off.
There’s a ton of ways to remove stripped screws. Sometimes you can get them out with a rubber band, other times you need a bit more brute force like in this video. You can also buy reverse thread spiral bits to get them out, but the good ones cost a fair bit. I’d try the rubber band method first, failing that, I’d try this method. Then replace with new screws, and either drive them by hand, or make sure your clutch on your drill is set to a low setting to prevent stripping 👍
Would somebody please explain this process, step by step for me? Yes, I'm a girl that needs to take out 4 small rusted in screws so I can fix (re-glue) a torn speaker cone.
This actually worked when a stripped screw removal tool didn’t even work, thank you!!!!
You’re welcome! I have tried them removal tools a few times. They do work, but not as well as this method can 👍👍

What size drill bit for the T-15. Also is he going forward or backwards.
That's what I want to know too of the size drill bit.
Иногда работает, а иногда бита обламывается. Поэтому надо брать не очень нужную биту.
Good idea😂
why no manufacturer comes with T16 T 21 T26 etc , now the tolerance is useless because the screws use maximum tolerance too
That’s smart !!!
Now do one for a stripped drill bit haha
😂
You dont need to use the drill bit just use a different size screw bit
Before doing that, put a small piece of duct tape on the screw and use a manual screwdriver. It turns it right out.
That does not always work.
@@TómateSinaloa4LIFEyup I already tried that didn’t work screw was too rounded and is still stuck 😂

a little bit smaller than the torx bit.

That poor bit. You can see that it's been damaged from (presumably) previous attempts. Still - if you're desperate, I suppose...
What are these bits called? I tried everything. I even tried to extraction tools and it does not work.
Highly recommend
yeah its moustly easy from wood shoow us howe to remowe from locking mehanisam
Для такой операции нужна бита очень хорошего качества. Как резец по металлу.
Is that an eighth inch bit?
Its metric, probably a 3mm I think.
Kk cool. Thanks

Been doing this for years
Is that a torx bit?
Yeah t15 I think
Podrías usar un extractor de tornillos
