I swear this girl knows what I am doing. I was literally got all my clay stuff out and was on Pinterest trying to figure out what I’m going to make. Then I got the notification.😧😄
Being an Indian, our usual meal all over our country are 'chapatis' or you can say flat bread. As it is so usual, I remember when i was a little kid, my mum used to make the dough and I sneakily took some part and do all these projects, and just kept it overnight to dry and painted all over it! I recalled those precious days by seeing this video of yours
I was planning on making my own chess set out of air-dry clay and I'm glad I came across this video. instructions were clear and I might need to make the paintbrush holder
Megan - If you want to try beads again form them around a knitting needle then suspend them by placing the ends of the knitting needle on the sides of say a bread pan or square baking pan . or you could use a chop stick and cupcake pan .
You just unlocked a memory in my life! Idk if it's just an Italian thing, but I remember when I was little we used to do at summer camp sooooo much stuff with salt dough! I guess it was cute, cheap and had the kids entertained
These crafts are adorable, the heart one is my favourite, it’s so pretty. I also feel like you could actually make Play-Doh out of this if you add food colouring to it, well that’s if food colouring won’t affect the mixture
Thank you so much!! I love that you wrote the ingredients down at the same time so we can pause it! Ive been looking for a good video with this recipe and this is perfect!!!
This method is really great if we can buy so many items but I would like to recommend an idea...This method is a VERY time consuming but if you grab any non dust eraser and collect it's shavings, then mix them all you can make a pretty good clay. I do this ALL THE TIME when I'm at classes or school writing with a pencil
Aah thank you so much ❤ I made this clay a while ago and baked it without drying it expanded and broke into pieces...... I'll try it again and dry it first 😅
the mountain brush holder is a super clever idea! it reminds me of the ice king from adventure time lol. Also i appreciate you sharing your fails! that's super useful for other artists to learn from AND it shows others that everyone messes up and no one is perfect :)
If anyone wants to make an alternative air-dry clay... SUPPLIES • ½ cup of cornstarch • 4 oz white glue • 1 TBS lemon juice • 2 TBS oil STEPS 1. Add ½ cup of cornstarch, then 4 oz of glue. 2. Mix them together until there’s a smooth icing-like consistency. 3. Add 2 tbs of oil and 1 tbs then give a quick mix. 4. Pop in the microwave for 30 seconds, take out give it a quick mix and place back in for 30 seconds. 5. After it's done take a wooden spoon and move it around the bowl until it has a dough-like consistency. 6. Remove clay and place on parchment paper, and gently knead it with cornstarch until it’s no longer sticky. It should have a smooth creamy texture.
My mom used to make this for me to play with and be creative with when i was little. We called it trolldeig (troll dough in english). It was so much fun❤️
This video is amazing it is so inspiring and it is very clear and easy to make the clay . The clay will look different if you use a different types of flowers like I used whole wheat flour and it looks kind of brown but that’s OK cause when I make something I will just paint over it😊
I’ve been wanting to get into clay but avoided it due to the startup cost and fear I won’t enjoy it as much as I think I will. Thank you for sharing this flour and salt air dry clay recipe and how to paint it. Would I be able to make a plate or bowl I can eat off using these methods?
Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it - I wouldn’t even recommend eating off of something made with store bought clay tbh. Since this is technically “air dry” clay it would probably be difficult to clean. If you seal it with resin or polyurethane it might work as a candy dish or something, but if you don’t seal it it would probably make everything taste salty (I made some ornaments that I didn’t seal and my cats decided they tasted pretty good, they kept licking them 😅)
Omg wth ur so creative!!!! I’m so glad I found ur channel cuz these videos remind me of stuff I used to watch and get inspired by when I was younger so now I’m gonna try to get back into crafts and stuff again
Btw you can put the clay in the microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute for a small thing and 2-3 minutes for bigger things it bakes really solid and even gets a little toasty
Thank you didi .Today my sister is coming to visit my place so we will try this air dry clay recipe and also make a heart shape dish for storing jewellery (actually I don't have jewellery. Will use it for something else)
