Thank you for your interesting and informative vanilla review. Ani is a love for me with the fresh ginger opening and of course, my gentle Eau Duelle by Diptyque is always so easy to wear. With the cold weather we’re having, Gris Charnel by BDK has also been on high rotation as I love the sandalwood and vanilla in the dry down.

Babycat and Angelique Noire are my top two of all time fragrances! I also adore Loubirouge, Ani, Eau Duelle, Spiritueuse Double Vanille Tihota and Absolute Aphrodisiac.
Safe to say I love vanilla in all its glorious forms, sometimes preferring the presentation to be dark and complex, others times liking it green and sparkling, and other times simple and sweet.

Lovely not plain at all vanillas! Also love the lighting in your video, so cozy! Lune Feline is a darker cardamom vanilla I enjoy. I think you might like Gold Myrrh Absolute. Have you tried it? Along the same lines of Encens Suave but with myrrh and cacao. I have a sample only, kind of hard to get. Also, another one that I have a sample of is Dionisio by Tiziana Terenzi, a vanilla with ambergris that is beautiful and comforting.

Hi Cherie, this was a really good video. I like vanilla fragrances a lot & I have a few on your list. Absolute Aphrodisiac & Angelique Noir both gorgeous to me. I have smelled Material & very well done but too balsamic for me. The Nicolai fragrance you mentioned sounds interesting, I love thee 30 mls from Nicolai - this is an underrated house in my opinion 🖤 one of my favourite vanillas is Eau Duelle (edt & edp) it’s simple but one I wear a lot.

For years I've had Tihota as the only true vanilla in my collection but I won't repurchase it. After I wore an old favourite which I haven't had a full bottle of for ages I realised it smelled syrupy and rather flat in comparison. It just doesn't hold a candle to Initio's Absolute Aphrodisiac. What a masterpiece of a vanilla. That one is like a big dense cloud compared to Tihota, plus it's far longer lasting on me. Great video, I'm glad you popped back up on my recommended feed. 😊

I’m in the U.S. and can’t get Babycat but a friend was visiting Dubai and got me a 125ml of it Duty Free at the airport there for $250! I have Ani and Eau Duelle EDP. I just love a green vanilla!

I think the “vanilla” that most are familiar with are the sweetened version which is actually vanillin, much cheaper than the raw ingredient. True vanilla is creamy but not sweet or sugary, and I personally prefer those over the sweet ones.

Vanille Tonka is a huuuge favorite of mine. I also love Encens suave but haven’t committed to a bottle yet. My favourite vanilla is probably Zoologist Harvest Mouse. It’s sooo comforting, perfect for the cool weather. I would also say Dusita Erawan is a lovely delicate vanilla, I liken it to a vanilla matcha latte! And I think I have to mention the Iris malikhan with it’s weird vanilla leathery Iris.

Hi Cherie, I love Ani. There is something green and refreshing in it that I find so interesting and comforting in a vanilla fragrance. I also loved banycat before the reformulations, I bought a bottle and I was so disappointed that I returned it, the sample I had smelled very leathery on me, the one I bought plain incensed vanilla and for that I much prefer Vanagloria. I really like Angelique Noire and Black Tie by Celine, do you know this one? I find it quite powdery but still nice. And Vanilla Havanne by Les Indemodables, I can smell tobacco and ron which is so original! At least for me 😅 it is on the very sweet side though, but the experience to test it is full worth it

I would have been sad if you didn't have at least one Shalimar in your list, hahaha! Have you ever tried Lalique Le Parfum? I bought it months ago as it is a pretty inexpensive perfume and really like it. It is an aromatic vanilla with bay leaf. I find it just a little old school but soft and elegant and so dressed up. It's quite a good performer on me as well. I am intrigued by Matiere Premiere Encens Suave. That one sounds wonderful. oxJulia

Last year I entered my Iris loving phase and now this year I’m in my more Leathery loving phase.. so I really enjoy Cuir Beluga but don’t have FB yet, and I recently discovered Bulgari Black which is honestly more of a rubbery leather vanilla? It’s very good.
I do wish I could try the Millesime Plantifolia some day, but I just didn’t get the chance to snag one two years ago. I did get a Millesime Tonka and savor it in cooler months :)
I do like vanilla in other fragrance categories such as in florals, like in Lys 41.

Hello, YSL Babycat and Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olfattivo are by the same perfumer Dominique Ropion. This scent profile is traditional in the Arab Culture particularly used during festive seasons, weddings...etc...to me (as an Arab) there is nothing new or creative in these two fragrances. Rosendo Mateu No. 5 comes in the same profile but with added burnt rubber smell .

Oh. I'm very sensitive to vanilla in fragrances. Even a bit can become overwhelming and stomach churning.
The only obviously vanilla fragrance I have is Ambre Tibet from Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. Just like how you described Angelique Noire but substitute the sparkly greenness with a more aromatic eucalyptus.
Looking through my collection, the only other one is Kilauea from Olympic Orchids. I'm thinking that the reason it didn't come to mind is because it's overshadowed by the dense florals and vegetation. Keep in mind that it's supposed to evoke a volcano, so there is a thick smokiness. Lava over tropical vegetation and the inevitable upcoming indolic blooming.

I know! Who even am I?! 😂 I was so shocked to discover how many vanillas were in my wardrobe …smh
Well you may just have to plan a holiday down under Chris! ❤️❤️❤️

Like you Cherie, I bought into the hype of Babycat & could only get a sample and I love it. I have thought about procuring a FB, but as I also live in Australia it seems impossible to source and that $ tag in these times is a bit excessive🙀. Let's not talk about the rate hikes here 👀. Thanks for putting me onto the little bottles of Ensens Suave as DJ’s sell them, so will definitely get one from them. 👏🫶

      @@TheTopNote I will test it. I also don't like very sweet vanilla's. 😅
