They were the best and yes they had this special bond.If they only knew they were being set up to be destroyed.My very first video to learn about lions and I picked the Mapogos.I sure did learn alot about this beautiful coalition and to this day I still think about them wondering what good have been with these lions if man would have stayed out of the picture.Knowing the Mapogos they are still roaming Sabie Sands.Old souls never die

    Makhulu and Pretty boy after Mr t. death, became nomadic lions, but they behaved like what they always were....Kings...
    Richard De Gouvie said about Mak and Pb: "They are FAR from hiding guys! These two legends came walking past little bush camp ROARING as if they were still the KINGS!"
    According to sabi s. game reserve ranger, In their nomadic old days Makhulu and Pretty Boy act incredibly different from nomadic lions, surprised that they were still roaring like kings and that they didn't know how to keep a low profile

      Wow amazing story, the reality is Mak barely knew defeat except for those Selati's who ended up killing MrT... I read somewhere after they left their territory Mak had a fight with another lion and actually killed him or caused him injuries that led the other lion to die and Mak was almost 15 years old that is just amazing! he was 1 in a million for sure

      @@felipetaborda440 You are right my friend, Big Mak was amazing, it is said that Limper from the KNP coalition died a week or ten days later from injuries from the fight with big mak, what I do not agree with you is that mak barely knew the defeat with the Selatis,when the three Mapogos together fought against the Selatis, they were always victorious and they kicked the Selatis out of their territory, I have read many comments saying that Mak and PB fled from the Selatis or that they were injured and could not fight leaving only Mr t in that fight,they say they did not fight Selatis due to previous injuries or old age and some time later they fight Limper and Freddy who were i don't know 6 or 7 years younger than them, the truth is that nobody knows, not even the rangers know exactly what happened to Makhulu and Pretty boy that day.

    Makhulu was the leader of the Mapogos, Pretty Boy was the most faithful brother of the collision, it was what everyone loved !!! Makhulu used to tour the territory alone and he was never caught, Pretty Boy was a strong lion and always kept close to his brothers !!!

    • @bpprod.4981
      @bpprod.4981 3 года назад +5

      Was going to say the same thing: they were all faithful, yes, but the “most faithful” were definitely Mr. T & Kinky Tail. Of course what the entire coalition did during their reign was tremendous, but what T & Kinky did when they branched off was truly remarkable. The territories should have been reversed, the 4 holding down what T & KT did, and vice versa. But so the story goes. T & KT made life much easier for their 4 brothers, warding off intruders before they even got close to the other 4. Love these guys.
      Would’ve LOVED to see the full Mapogo coalition of 6 vs the 5 Majingalenes. Even in their old age, I definitely would bet on the Mapogos. HATE the Majingalnes for killing Kinky Tail, but do love their son Nguvu. Wish he would somehow find a coalition partner bc it’s gonna be tough for him all alone. And boy, he is an absolutely GORGEOUS lion,

    Pretty boy always favored the company if Big mac, just like Dreadlock favored Scar and of course Mlowathi the most famous. There was a wonderful footage l saw around 10years ago where you saw KT and T go their separate ways and the camera showed DL scar walking in the other direction; all of a sudden it showed Big Mac turn and nudge PB who was lying down as if to tell him c'mon let's go, finally it ends with DL, scar, Mac and PB walking off looking very sad while T and KT are crossing the river going west. In other footages you see them always meeting at the boarder being very friendly, almost like catching up with each other. Mapogos forever. Forever Mapogos.

      @Vicentemetalero 3 года назад

      If there's one we will never know, but yes it's very possible, I mean not all of their daughters survive but most of them, because male lions almost never kill female cubs you know why xd.
      A lot of cubs dead by natural causes, a lot of cubs killed by Mr.T, a lot of cubs killed by other rival coalitions (Majingilanes, Selatis, etc) when they withdraw to the west... so yeah I believe all those factors had a huge influence.
      But yeah it's hard to believe that at least from 2006 to 2010 (when Mr.T returned and killed a lot of cubs) they couldn't procreate a single male lion that survived and made it to the adult age :(
      There was a pride (can't remember the name) that left Sabi Sands because the fence was destroyed after a big storm, but they entered human territory and authorities said that they must be killed. They killed the ENTIRE PRIDE not just the males. I believe that's when the last potential male lions sons of the Mapogo's died because they were doing very very well and were already sub-adults so they had already overcome the worst part of the trip (cub age on lions is the most dangerous part of their lives, less than 10% make it). Thankfully there was no Mapogo's with the pride at the time or they would've been killed too.

      @@Vicentemetalero as per my knowledge mapogos controlled many prides together....we just know stories of only few of their sons......they were having their golden days from 2006 to 2010......no rivals dared to harm mapogos till 2010.......so what happened to the male cubs of other prides......were they all dead of natural causes and female cubs didn't get affected of that so called natural causes......????.......how is this possible man....just think on it

    When 2 male lions walk past an open vehicle and get spotlights shone on them it's not natural anymore ! Yes I like animal doco's but I would be disappointed with a tour where the animals are that habituated. Rather go fishing !
