cinematography is a must, the movie is beautiful. in a time where every sequel is a copy of the original is fresh to see a movie like this. but maybe if it had less 30 minutes the story would flow much better, I think after the trial starts the movies becomes really slow, so either go with a smaller runtime or have something different happen in the last 30 minutes, but I really like it
Yeah, I agree. The cinematography is fantastic. I think the court drama is just dull, not just because it’s very unrealistic, but there’s essentially no stakes. It’s either the death penalty or life in prison. Phillips didn’t provide a reason why we should be invested in this section.
@@RyanCasselmanI don't agree 100% with you, in felt that there was 3rd option, that somehow he would get free, specially with the scenes from the trailer with Lee and Joker walking down the stairs.
I just think that it lack something in the last 30/45 minutes.
But again the cinematography is breathtaking, probably one of the best I have seen in the last year
gonna talk spoilers:
lee in this film is a grifter. she’s rich and has a degree in psychology and is manipulating him throughout the film. she is fully a villain. he has a feeling she’ll double cross him and it gets amped up through each musical sequence. similarly to the first movie he builds Lee up as his true love while she is there. Lee is out on the background using her “love” with him to get famous, she’s a full grifter. The arc reminds me of people who become obsessed with serial killers and, when she realizes he isn’t actually The Joker, the fantasy is over.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I really liked the first movie, am a musical theatre geek, but I have no interest in seeing this. I even watched the spoiler section because I don't care.
Being a musical theatre person, I’d love to get your opinion on these songs. As a musical, I thought it really lacked imagination.
So we got 2 psychopaths that's gonna entertain us with a musical?! Nah,you ain't La La Land. Warner brothers can't make it work without damien chazelle he's the only director that im confident in musical
