Nice no nonsense review. So many people do reviews with nothing but background music, often, annoying. I understand that not everyone speaks English, however, a review with nothing but music is not very helpful and usually misses huge amounts of info. You speak clearly with a sound judgement of the product pluses and limitations. I was very surprised when you said this was your first review. You are such a natural at this and I look forward to more well done reviews by you..Good luck
Although this product has been on the market for a long time and a lot of people on RUclips have already reviewed and tested it, your video is so far the best and its without any nonsense. Looking forward to more such reviews from you buddy. Now let me go and finally order this piece from my cart.
Good review! As someone else noticed there are a lot of reviews but yours is very well done, not too technical and tells almost all one needs to know about it before buying.
thank you bro looking to start recording songs and had no idea about this and you summed it up perfectly and made me understand what it does and how to do it have a good day
This is an awesome review!! Thank you so much for this, it really helped me on deciding what to get as I was on the fence on whether to get this or another audio interface. I was surprised to also find out that this was your first review. You were very informative and straight forward. Liked and subscribed, keep up the good work. (:
I like the straight forward review. I was thinking of getting either the umc404hd or the Scarlett 4i4 and this video just helped me decide the one that's best for me
For those wanting to use a ribbon mic with this interface (sounds fantastic on bass cabs), I suggest using a CloudLifter CL-1 between the interface and the mic. It'll protect the ribbon from power surges, and give you around 20dB of very clean gain. In fact, I suggest everyone use that, either for dynamics OR ribbons, because that clean gain is worth it. You could also try the FetHead, which works similarly and is a bit cheaper (not as rugged!).
I've got one of these interfaces. it was £105.00 from Thomann the build quality is great it feels solid. the only downside is the 48v not being independent to each channel as stated in this video. great review well done
perfect, wish you had 5-6 seconds to show all instruments at the same time connected to monitor the performance as it s my pan to use this for electric + bass at the same time. still a great video, thanks!
Figgy Views I know you might now reply to this because you have better things to do but when you can...can you tell me if this Interface have good headroom for loud vocals and instruments?
That's just your first review video? Well done. Good video, and informative without being pedantic and boring. Can you say whether you get 4 independent channels into the DAW software from this?
Hi bro. Great product review. My I know this Audio Interface record multichannel or a single channel. Does it separate your guitar track, vocal track and so on in 4 channel? Or it just record in a one single channel in DAW? Thank you in advance for response.
Great vid bud! Really helped my thoughts and decisions on this product. Just wondering what was it that you played when you tested your electric acoustic guitar? It sounded so nice! Cheers
According to Behringer the phantom power only affects the XLR connections, TRS/TS are not affected. I have mixed the 2 and had no problems but I don't own anything that's particularly susceptible here so YMMV etc.
Inserts (like the 4 on the back) are normally for use with outboard rack gear, like compressors, and effects. You would use a "Y" cable that sends a signal to and from the interface. The cable ends are referred to as "tip and ring", or just plain old "insert" cable (could be why it's labeled insert), and use to be pretty standard equipment back before everyone became an "studio engineer". Guess what plug ins are based on... hardware, and rack gear. The insert jack can also be used as two different types of direct outs, so technically you could connect a mixer to them, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the primary function they were intended for. It's kind of depressing to know how many people, including many professional studio engineers, have never even used traditional equipment. I recommend that anyone who hasn't tried a rackmount compressor, effects processor, sonic maximizer, etc... give it a shot! Yeah, the new DAWs, and software are great, but incorporating the hands one workflow, and genuine signal processing opens up a lot of possibilities, and uniqueness to your music. To the people who are still using that stuff, I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from.
Awesome review. Just 1 question.... are you able to record all 4 inputs simultaneously on separate tracks in your sequencer? Like doing a vocal and your guitar at the same time, and having it on separate tracks to mix and process them both independently.
Sorry, I scrolled down and you answered the question, it was presented by Anthony below. Yes you can see the inputs as separate inputs on the sequencer! That's great and a very important feature.
Great review, very helpfull. Two questions: 1) is it compatible with pro tools 12? 2) have you compare it with any of the focusrite scarlett series and if so, wich would be the best? Much thanks
it sounds great for recordings. better than my midas M32 mixer which is 3k $ gear. only if you are recording a drummer live won't work, but it works and sound really clean with no latency...
features for price it can't be beat, my only gripes with the design would be that it's a tad bit awkward to have the phantom power switch on the back plus there is no way to control phantom power individually for the 4 mic inputs....but anyway I'm 95% sure I'll buy it since I upgraded my Mac OS and my TASCAM US-122L can no longer function with my computer
Best review of this product on RUclips. It's straight to the point with no rambling bullshit. We need more reviewers like you.
Amen!!

I've got one of these interfaces. it was £105.00 from Thomann
the build quality is great it feels solid. the only downside is the 48v not being independent to each channel as stated in this video.

@@crackedblackpepperandrocksalt can cause issues with old mics/ribbon mics

Figgy Views I know you might now reply to this because you have better things to do but when you can...can you tell me if this Interface have good headroom for loud vocals and instruments?

Great vid bud! Really helped my thoughts and decisions on this product. Just wondering what was it that you played when you tested your electric acoustic guitar? It sounded so nice! Cheers
Haha thanks! It was just something that I made up! Cheers :D
You're awesome excellent review

Yes phantom power itself need xlr. TRS cant do. This apply to all audio mixer or interface.

What’s cool about the umc is it functions as a mixer with ac power without a computer
Thumbs up for the Silver Stripe Peavey in the background.
Thank you so much boss
No problem!
Hello. Thanks for the vid....one question. Can you explain the lav set up more?
Great review, very helpfull. Two questions: 1) is it compatible with pro tools 12? 2) have you compare it with any of the focusrite scarlett series and if so, wich would be the best? Much thanks
Did you know now?
Good job.man👍
Fantastic.
it sounds great for recordings. better than my midas M32 mixer which is 3k $ gear. only if you are recording a drummer live won't work, but it works and sound really clean with no latency...
Great video, dude. I would to know if you still use this interface and if you are still happy with it. Thanks.
Hello,can I use Bherimger 404,as a pre amp,and to connect 2 to 3 instruments ..in a Guitar amp..pl help..thank you
features for price it can't be beat, my only gripes with the design would be that it's a tad bit awkward to have the phantom power switch on the back plus there is no way to control phantom power individually for the 4 mic inputs....but anyway I'm 95% sure I'll buy it since I upgraded my Mac OS and my TASCAM US-122L can no longer function with my computer
Dude, can you tell me if there is a difference in the functioning of the interface connecting only by USB? Compared to connecting to a power supply.
we love you
