The Behringer UMC404HD destroyed my Rs. 50,000 worth condenser mic! I have used this interface for 3+ years and IT SUCKS. Although the interface boasts of four 48V powered channels, they do not function well simultaneously. The interface has tremendous power management issues because of which it doesn’t work properly in low-voltage conditions. The interface is extremely glitchy and has an issue with real-time AD/DA conversion. Half of the times it doesn’t connect because the provided driver doesn’t function well. The multiple INs and OUTs are a marketing gimmick to lure people into buying something they don’t require. I’m using the interface with a 2014 HP Notebook- Intel i3, 256gb SSD, 8gb RAM, and the interface gives up when I try to work at max sampling rate. Most recently I bought the Rode K2 condenser mic, and the interface literally made a “kadak-click” sound on turning the 48v switch on, after which, my brand new mic stopped sending any sort of signal at all. I was extremely fortunate to have gotten a fresh piece of the same model replaced from Rode, otherwise you can imagine. ONE OF THE MAJOR ISSUES - NO AFTER-SALES SERVICE IN INDIA. If you encounter a problem, you’re finished. I stay in Maharashtra and the website showed the nearest service center to be in SRI LANKA 😂. Not to mention the time and efforts you have to invest in writing long essays about your problems and waiting for days to get a response. Once the product is sold from their end, they don’t give a damn about what happens next. All in all, I’d suggest beginners to rather spend on a single/twin channel interface with strong preamps and good build quality instead of going for something that just appears big and fancy. No matter what you buy, whether cheap or costly, service is going to be a major issue because these companies rarely distribute spare parts. My experience: Minimal channels with good hardware and good preamps are more important than multiple channels and multiple outs. Especially for beginners in a place like India, I’d recommend you to browse through the hardware quality and after-sales service before you even think of tech specs such as number of channels, frequency response, or monitor-out provisions. Remember, if the motherboard itself sucks, nothing else matters. This review couldn’t be much more from the heart. Hope you make an informed choice.

Can this record let's say a guitar abd a mic in a daw at the same time, on separate tracks?

With four inputs, will those four show up as one audio source via USB for recording or to feed into Microsoft Teams/Skype? Or do you only get one of the inputs? I would like all four to be combined as "one source" for audio going into Microsoft Teams/Skype.

Can i use UMC 204HD for live performance ? I need the daw for autotune and 1/2 for main and 3/4 for custom mix on In Ear Monooring. Will it work ?

Behringer UMC404HD will do its job for recording sources, but, given the fact that it also has TRS and XLR outputs, its maximum output level (+3dBU) is insufficient to drive balanced inputs monitors or PA speakers to nominal level (+4dBU). You may need to use an additional preamp or mixer to raise the gain to a sufficient level. In comparison with other USB audio interfaces, able to deliver output levels of +6dBU, +8dBU, +10dBU or +12dBU, Behringer UMC404HD output levels (1V RMS / 0.78 dBV) are low and similar to consumer Bluetooth output devices.
