I remember watching Bottom in the 90s when I was a young teenager. My grandparents were round visiting and my Mum was talking to my Gran as they were about to leave. So my Grandad stood there and watched Bottom for a few minutes with me. This was totally unlike anything that he would have watched at home with my Gran. I'll always remember the look on his face and the sound of him laughing as Rik and Ade went at each other. This brought me so much joy and I still think it's probably the funniest comedy show ever created. RIP Rik.

yeah whooo bottom, you did a bottom reaction. Ive been asking for one of them for ages, well done.
the thing about the game of chess and why Richie had various random pieces to play with at the start of the game is because unbeknown to him Eddie had found his antique chess set that he'd hidden inside the wall and sold them to buy drink.
There are a few clips you could try that dont have the Eddie & Richie violence in but are still proper funny. The clip when Eddie pretends to be Death (not deaf) is a good one. The Bottom Live stage shows are on youtube, so they should be acceptable content for you to react to. Anyway it was good to see a Bottom reaction on your channel, thank you

There needs to be a bit of context here, especially when it comes to the chess pieces. Eddy has been selling them off, surreptitiously, one by one for quite a while, with there only being a couple of pieces left. So, when the idea of having a game of chess came up, they had to substitute most of the pieces with other small items. The pawns, for examples, are frozen prawns. The Queen is a small potted cactus with a paper crown on it; one of the bishops is a Spiderman, the other a sausage. One of the knights is a plastic skeleton, and so on.. It just adds to the total ridiculousness of the situation.

In another show before he died Rik Mayall was Greg Davies Dad in a different comedy series lol, Davies was Gillbert in The Inbetweeners. Rik's sadly gone now died from a heart attack from him being diagnosed with epilepsy most likely sadly, was from when he rather stupidly got on a quad bike fell off and ended up and they'd feared he'd got brain damage. Typical Rik was taking the piss out of the situation lol in the live shows afterwards but.... gutted genuinely gutted Rik had me in bits on the floor in tears he was quite literally a genius with comedy lol.

Hey Boomer, Rik Mayl was actually knighted here in the UK by the queen, he was literally a true national treasure to british TV, very sweet kind caring man who sadly passed away a fair few years ago.

I absolutely loved Bottom, The Young Ones, and The Comic Strip Presents. All worth a watch. Rik Mayall was hilarious, and is truly missed. Adrian Edmonson still .acts, but has also done great cooking shows, which showed him travelling. all over the Uk

The Bottom outtakes and Live ‘breaking character’ clips and compilations are the best you could ever watch, highly recommended!

Look at the Bottom Live bloopers YT posts - They did numerous Theatrical tours which were put out as VHS videos back in the late 80's. The best bits are where Rik Mayall fluffs up his lines and they riff for a while.

Forgot to say - there is ZERO violence in the blooper clips.

USA would never allow a comedy show like that. Too violent. Even though the 'violence' is fake. And that's in a country with roughly one mass shooting per month.

Fingers hilarious the think 1st one of series three when eddie's basically dressed as Edwina haha!
"No we'd like to have two rooms if thats ok? Oh dear things not going swimmingly, never mind I think you'll find couples are rather nervous at this stage. No you don't understand I do not want to sleep in the same room as her, him, it!" 🤣
After he kept getting kicked in the goolies almost constantly eddie/edwina lol saying "Let me give you a tip rich, if you're ever pretending to be a lesbian keep your tackle very well hidden!" 🤣
