Yanis is a work horse. Such a wonderful temperament, willing to tackle any job or new skill or to lend a hand to anyone needing it. He is one lucky young fella who has been nurtured by the whole Petherick family into the skilled tradie he is today. What a WIN / WIN!

Billy, I was worried about you standing on the beams with a camera. Then you turned round, and when I saw how far away from the floor you were 🫣😳😱. Lovely to see Phil ❤
I watched Phil’s vlog just now that was done at the convent. The idea of moving the hall way to the back of the building raises an image in my head that is quite wonderful to me. Just imagine all the light from those former bedrooms windows coming into the new hall. No longer a dim and moody long walk but a wonderful walk in the sunlight during the day and star lighted at night. It would have an inviting solarium feel to it. I vote YES to moving the hall way.
I am amazed how Billys friends are always willing to help. Love the kitchen in the background, looks amazing. Yanis never says no to work, you have to like him he's always ready to learn a new skill. Till next time.
Billy (and all the Pethericks) are amazingly willing and generous with their time, skills and equipment to all their large friend circle. It works both ways.
Billy…. “Don’t walk on those beams without safety gear please!!! We need you whole 🤣“ I can hear myself shouting in my head!! Love and respect from Canada ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
The easiest use of the apartments could be used as partial payment for a grounds keeper, maintenance or manager. You would also have someone on property at all times.
Those apartments would be useful for guests, when you have large gatherings at the chateau. Or relatives. You may also eventually have an on-site, live-in manager and/or even a gardener, if you fully develop the back grounds. A chef? A handyman like Yanis? You may have rotating staff, like at Chateau LaLande, because of visa requirements. So many possibilities for their use. You are wise to get them fully renovated.
The trees in the courtyard have really grown..must be from all the rain since October..It seems strange in June to see folks in long sleeves but I guess you need that when you weld.
correction.. there is not a variety of non invasive wisteria.. they are all the same..Fabaceae Leguminosae 🤣 It will look amazing though; just the softening that the convent needs. ps frutescens is a variety of the genus Fabaceae; gorgeous.
Billy,Mic,Yanis,Phil, plumber. Very intense job of welding. Amazing to think that a welding tig can weld together such a strong bond on steel as to create a permanent bond of strength. Well my babies. Until tomorrow. Please, take care and stay safe. Love ya guys. 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🙏🌹❤️🌞😇👍🌈🕊🇺🇸
Many of these spaces at/around convent would be great for wedding photos/catalogue photo shoot, and I can imagine summer/Christmas markets in the courtyard
@Billy Petherick Best channel on RUclips in my opinion. Three things I'd like to ask. 1. Weren't there some old beams laying around in the basement of the convent that could possibly be repurposed? 2. While the welder is out being used would it be worthwhile to touch up the broken burner on the vintage range in the convent kitchen. 3. Wasn't a family member or friend that wished to remain anonymous living in one of the convent apartments or perhaps that was Sadie. Hopefully this comment will be seen and keep up the great work and entertainment.
The old wooden beams in the Basement had been compromised by fungi or woodworm and therefore not suitable for structural use, they could be treated and used for decorative use, I assumed that the apartment was to be used for relatives who since had purchased a new house nearby and Billy and company had helped in renovating recently but this is just my "limited" assumption, he's not using the old stove, it's for decoration, so no need to spend money on repairs, somebody could repair it in the future though!?!
he heee, Billy you make it a challenge on the welding business with Phil! No worruy, I'm sure You're Both excellent! .and thank you Billy for NOT showing WHERE you stood, cause....I get all that tingeling in my feet !
Are you all going to leave all those layers of flooring in the remaining rooms on the upper floors? Seems like that is extraordinarily heavy and takes up so much space.
What is going to happen to the sagging oak beams supported by lally columns? There are at least two supporting the 2nd floor and one supporting the 3rd floor.
Can someone interview Yanis. Its like he has an interesting story to tell. Where is he from? Did anyone know he has kids ( if it was them on his instagram ). Just make the man known he deserves it.
I just can't imagine what your plans are for generating income from the convent, especially if there are no plans for the apartments. Now, if you have plans to renovate and sell the convent, that would make sense. I don't mean to be a nag, I just worry!
Billy and the crew, Love what you have done so far. couple of things, Your next big project, (if you have space for it, LOL) Could be a proper theatre. A performance stage, entertainment area and Movie theatre. I'm sure the village could use a state of the art performance theatre. I heard Phil say something about a pool. another great idea. and last maybe that bar you have mentioned. Can't wait to see what you do with that bank.

Fantastic teamwork.
Way to go Billy and Phil- now on to the floor joists and the flooring it self. :D Crack on Team !
I highly recommend that you have some fire extinguishers at the ready. You should actually have someone to act as a fireman as the welding goes on.
Yanis is learning so much. Glad he's turning into 😊a man of many trades
Master welder Phil has arrived. Maybe he could also make up a composting bin for Sadie and the family if you don't have one for the hay and manure.
I'm so excited for the next steps in this renovation😊. Crack on!
Yanis will be a mastercraftsman when the convent and chateau are done :) Wonderful!
I'm in the middle of treating and painting decks so it is lovely to get a cool drink and have a Pethericks break. 😊🍹

If I didn’t have too much to do in the UK, I would love to use an apartment and be Head Housekeeper 😀
I like it when a plan comes together like this. Phil says a bit of over engineering but it will hold for sure. Doing great have a wonderful day

9:49 Ah, I can see the gaps on that side. That's gonna be fun lol.
hopefully no gaps tomorrow 😂
@@ThePethericks Are all those beams masonry-ed in? Is the metal shrinkage from those gaps a concern?

It's not particularly warm in Northern Europe either, getting an Arctic blast as the gulf stream from Mexico is not in full swing yet!?!
Better to be over-engineered than under-engineered. As mentioned hitherto, it's also sensible repurposing any materials actually on-site.
Agree
Stick welding would have been a much better choice. 6010 and then 7018 rod self cleansing, no surface prep
Adding compost ( even aged horse manure) in the spring will help wisteria to bloom if to much nitrogen add phosphorus to your soil to help it bloom
