That is a great looking table. One thing I would change. Seat post would be round and welded to the side of the leg, could then just swivel to the side under table. Happy birthday, young man.
I built one a few years back like that. Very nice to have. Two things i did different was I used 2' pipe on the seat so it swivels from side to side and then under the table for those jobs its in the way and then second I wired the whole table with plugs on every corner. Then all you have to do is plug a fixed cord that made into a junction box on the table and then everything has power. Love your work and the details are awesome.
Great job Andrew. You really thought this one out. Not only is it a killer design, you cleared up some space in your shop with the extra storage space. You will now know exactly where your welding supplies and tools are in that beast. Awesome content once again!!!!!
That's exactly right, and I also have a big Shop clean out and storage solution planned. That'll be a future video to get a lot more of my working room back and get more organized.
What a build! Your great great grandkids won’t see the end to this table. I’m stealing your seat design. I have an old metal tractor seat I’m going to use for mine. Thank you for this great video!
i love this design. if i had the space and was willing to spend the money i would also make something similar. i made mine out of a pallet jack but the top plate of metal for the work surface is slightly curved and i wasn't able to get it straight again. funny enough ive never used it as a "welding" table. its always just been a space to put stuff on. i guess im never making anything small enough to use it like that. most of the time im making fairly big stuff with rebar and plate steel
One thing we got on two of ours on the farm is a piece of angle iron on the long edge of the top. It works perfect for holding round tubing in place from rolling!
Dude that is a seriously awesome table you built. I love the awesome slider bar idea for the grinding consumables. Excellent job man and God bless y'all
I'm building a table right now and I'm glad I found your video. I have idea's but seeing what you have done a major rethink is in order. You sir are the G.O.A.T,, love your shop helper. A shop ain't a shop without a 4 legged helper.
Very nice job. I am 76 years old and built a welding table similar to yours 40 years ago. I enjoyed watching your workmanship. Congratulations. Will be watching more of your projects in the future. Thanks
Very nice job. I did a few things a bit differently, but your table has some very cool features. I started with seats like you made, but found them to be knee busters, so I converted them to swing away style on pintles. I really like your table extension. Well done, sir!
OK - I have been watching you for awhile - and have always been impressed by your mechanical skills and the way you think through projects - but this is a WHOLE other level! Great job!
That is some table mate, fantastic work. I was looking forward to you trying to pick it up when it was upside down! Mines almost identical, the only thing different was I made the seat swing out so I could kick it underneath in a hurry!
Very cool build! I especially liked the adjustable seat mount and the slide out for the grinding discs. I took a few screen shots to add to my list of features for my own table.
Really well thought out and built table Andrew! As a welder/ fabricator for the last 46 years I know exactly what you mean about workjng off of the floor, my knees are both shot! I especially like that you didn't permanently mount your bench grinder and vice to the table, I've always said that that's the best way to ruin a perfectly good welding table!
Boss table man! I really like all the square tube cross braces to keep the deck flat. Clearly well thought out. I weld and fab for fun so I understand how bad ass this thing is. Keep on trucking.
Nice! When I made mine I welded scrap 1.5 inch tubing to legs to hold my welding torch, plasma torch etc. also at the end I welded in a grate for plasma cutting. It has a tray underneath to catch debris.
Great build! You could add a bolt to the side that you cut off with a floating hole. Large clearance, so that when you pull the extension out you pull them out together. This will allow for the incongruency.
Impressive Design, I can see that you have long planned for this. One design suggestion: stool holder welded on the inside of the upright (so 90 deg rotated in) with the bolt not sticking out. If you ever remove the stool you have a bolt sticking out to bump into, even if you remove the bolt you have the receiver w/ nut sticking out. Additional benefit of the receiver on the inside of the upright - you could put the stool under the table for storage.
I fully understand the accomplishment you described at the beginning of the video. I’m happy for you. Tools and the right working area make and break every job you do. One question. Ballpark cost?
Love it! I built a 3x6 version of this with no vertical supports in the middle like yours. I wanted so badly to put swing out stools on the corners, but was worried about it being tipsy. Table weighs in at around 460 as I built it. Maybe I should just do it and try it out, lol. Sweet table!
On the 4in extension, I'd cut a slot hole. Bolt them together just slightly loose. Should give enough L-R slop to enable you to pull it out as one piece again
Gotta love a solid welding table. Mine is 3x5 ft with a 3/8 top. Had some diagonal slots lasered in the top like the Miller table to utilize the Miller clamps. With the table being 100% true on the edges makes it so easy to weld things up square. Mine has desk pedestals with drawers for storage. Adjustable feet resting in hockey pucks lets me level and stabilize it for work. Raise the feet and it's on heavy duty casters to move as necessary. May I suggest another vise mount near your seat ??
Andrew. That is the best welding table ever. I love it. I hope you can make a cut list and detailed plan of some kind. Any idea of material cost? The best part is the receiver ends. I can see making a drop down bracket to set your chop saw on that would be flush with the table. Give you more lenght of cut and do away with blocking. One of my favorites. Great build!!
Very well thought out welding table design, I really like some of the features that I have seen on other RUclipsr videos. Great job, I can see you will put this table to good use.
🎂HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎂....that's one helluva birthday present you built yourself! I love the addons and the versatility, not to mention freeing up valuable work or storage space in the shop. Excellent job as always "young man"!👍👍👍👍
The table looks great. I recently did something similar to hole grinder discs on threaded rod but found another nice touch is to use 1/2” metal conduit and pinch that with a 1/4” washer and nut and it makes sliding on the discs and other things nice and smooth
You’re going to have to eventually get a Fireball Hardtail Vice to go on that awesome welding table. That is fantastic table you have built. Love the extension fence.
Very nice. Like the disc storage. Haven’t seen that solution. Smart. Having been there, done that, I highly recommend putting a 6 socket power strip on the table with a very short cord. I often have 3 of my 4” side grinders in use on the same project. I placed it on the side of my domain hand. Then use cord reel to power. Another new feature I did was add the 5/8 fixture holes in a 36”x36” area. So much better being able to clamp anywhere. The last bench I relied on the edge which worked but always needed to clamp perpendicular also.
That table will last three life times. I love the changeability you have for different accessories. It'll definitely be a Time saver rather than having to bolt everything down every time.
@@TKCL yes for the money it can’t be beat! I’m an old toolmaker for like 50 years. Owned my own shop for 48 of them lol. I had an expensive cold saw and we cut many a piece to tight tolerances and good finishes. This isn’t quite as accurate ( nor expensive 😜)but for fab work it’s fantastic. Here’s a little tip you may find helpful. I mounted a rod of steel to the right hand side for a stop. I made a block that you could rotate down when using. Put an Allen head SHCS in for fine adjustment. Then I use a small piece of one inch tube when setting to make a space in between. Then I remove it allowing room for the piece to fall off without pinching. Hope you find that useful. You made a great table utilizing all that space. I’m curious are you planing on renting a mag drill and putting in .625 holes for clamps? I made mine using 6 in wide plates with 1 inch spacer plates. I can remove and put clamps in that reach every spot easily. My plates have an adjustable mounting so I can tweak them in for flatness to each other. I would have liked to get the plates Blanchard ground but there’s no place anywhere close to me. But I’m simply a hobby shop in my retirement anyway. Sorry I get so lengthy 😂 I’m also a novelist.
Watched the video, love the table, saw the mag drill, and would have done the drilling for a fixture top, would personally change the layout of the stool stand so I could use a swivel and turn around when I want. This is a really good table build, and very well executed, I'd also want a place to allow my chop saw to drop down into place. Good job good build!!

Super cool, thanks for pulling that thing out in yard to show us everything, I bet that was hassle, thank you!! I have a shop in the works, and I m getting some great ideas, I ve been thinking of 1/2 4x8 for a table top, so much cheaper than buying a welding table

I made something similar but made of wood for wood work, never weld in my life, Its in my plan to get that skill by next year and that table in a freaking monster table, looked well design and practical with my non welder experience.
Nice build, a loose fitting bolt in the slide out extension may allow you to keep it together but flex enough to slide out without binding, also you may have noticed, you can pull your vice and turn it 90 degrees and use it to clamp pieces vertically. Also you may find that a strategately placed hole about 3" or so .do would come in handy for driving out hammer handles, or pins and bushings. great job.
I don’t know, it looks pretty flimsy…..😂. All kidding aside I think it turned out great! I’ll be stealing some of these ideas if I ever get around to building my own.
Great looking table! Two things i would add are two 4 gang outlets one on each end, run the wire in flexible metal conduit. I wired mine with a male end of a plug. I just thought it was a welding table I was going to check out.😂 I was pretty impressed when you pulled that section out and sat on it. I never realized steel could be that strong. 😜😝😂🤣 Sorry, I had to do it 😂😂 Looks awesome. 🙌🏼
I just had a thought on your table. I know it fixture table can get really expensive to get a decent one. But you’ve got Cross braces on there and if you are making a jig you don’t really want to weld to that top because you can warp it and then have places that will catch and it can be a problem. But with your cross braces if you drilled Four holes where you can get a bolt in there tightly you could put another piece of steel on top with four bolt holes and you would just have the holes in the table when the top piece was removed but then you could have a sheet of steel with four bolt holes that covered the full width of the table And make that maybe 3‘ x 4‘. Then you could put that on top of the table with only four bolts to hold it down and you could weld whatever you wanted to it as far as a fixture for repeating multiple parts and then just pop it off and has a nice smooth table top again, and that way you would only have four holes put in it to hold down another piece of metal on top that you could weld to that could be removable so you could mess it up and grind into it or whatever and easily replace it after a few years if it gets really bad. That way you have the stability of the table with kind of a disposable throwaway piece that you can add and remove without causing damage to the table it. 🤔
@ShaneZettelmier I don't apply enough heat to make an issue, personal opinion of course. With that said, I've got an idea I'm almost done with to make any table a fixture table 😉
Looks great. You thought of everything. Just an idea that could possibly make the chair easier to place and remove without tools. drilling holes in the tubing and using a pull pin. Also if it was pipe, you could swing it around to either end of that side of the table. Possibly putting another pipe on the opposite side to use on either...
Nice bench, I built one very similar but I wish I has used expanded metal on the bottom shelf like you did. I saw a cool hack on RUclips for the bench grinder, guy mounted it on a hinge, so when not in use it swings down under the edge of the bench. I also put a power bar on mine under the edge.
Metal working table and lunch table all in one. Awesome
That is a great looking table. One thing I would change. Seat post would be round and welded to the side of the leg, could then just swivel to the side under table. Happy birthday, young man.

If you ask me, that seat is the best feature for a 40 yo :))) That's not just a table, it's a station, bravo!!!

Your dedication is truly inspiring.
Nice job! I think I would add a couple of drawer slides and make a slide out tray for the heavy items like your chop saw. It will save your back.
That's been a popular suggestion and on my to do list.
Good point!
Nice bench, I built one very similar but I wish I has used expanded metal on the bottom shelf like you did. I saw a cool hack on RUclips for the bench grinder, guy mounted it on a hinge, so when not in use it swings down under the edge of the bench. I also put a power bar on mine under the edge.
what a nice weather! having to stay outside under the sun for a long time like that!!❤👍👍
The only thing I see wrong with this table, is that I don't have it at my house.
My thoughts exactly
I have that same problem.
PECH GEHABT !!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🤏🤏
