Hello Eric, glad that your back again and with something beautiful. The books you'r mentioned r not available in the Netherlands, would you make a pdf from it and send it to me, just let me know what the costs are. Thank you so much.
Peter, as far as I know, copyright laws here in the US do not allow me to copy material and deliver them unless I have the permission of the author and publisher. I can make individual copies of pages, but I do not feel comfortable with taking a book of 60 pages that is still available for purchase and making PDF copies of it. I can se if I can find a copy of the book and ship it to you. The purchase price on ebay is around $20 US, I do not know how much shipping would be to the Netherlands. If that is the route you wish to take let me know. My email is ericowensart@gmail.com. Thanks. My wife and I honeymooned in the Netherlands and it is one of the places we wish to visit again. We loved the beauty of the country and the fellowship of the people we met.
@@ericowens6369 Quick question if I may: Which book has the torso pattern in it? I thought it was Cleve's "Cowboy Carving" but I just received that one from Barnes & Noble and it has Bojangles but not the torso. Thanks! (Loved the video series and can't wait to try carving a couple.)
@@garrettswoodworx1873 If by torso you mean the whole body, you can use the line drawings in Cleve's book to draw one out. If by torso you mean the cutout that I put the head into, there is no pattern in Cleve's book other than the one Cleve gave me. If you want a body pattern, there are several different body patterns, using the head pattern already supplied, in Claude Bolton's book titled "Carving Cowboys". There is a base, for a shirt or a bandanna or other choices, in Claude's other book, titled "Carving Heads, Hats and Hair". That book has many good examples of what can be accomplished with a simple head pattern, coupled with several upper body (or torso) options. Garrett, I hope I have answered your questions. Thanks for the compliments and thanks for watching. When you carve some, I would love to see them. Happy carving!
@@ericowens6369 Thanks Eric. Sorry I wasn't clear but I'm looking for a base for a bandana, shirt, etc. like you carved in this series. You've answered my question perfectly! I found a used copy of 'Carving Heads, Hats and Hair' online and it's on the way. Thanks again! Garrett
Thanks for the info! I knew the name once I turned off the video and my mind started to relax. I was wound up doing the video and could not remember the name of it. Thanks for reminding me of the name. Enjoy the video.
Hi Eric I'm having a hard time finding the tendon cutter drill bit. Could you tell me the brand name and the size in mm. I think 3/4 inches is 19 mm? Thanks Eric.
By tenon cutter, I assume you are talking about the tool to cut the head/neck piece, not the insert hole. Woodcraft in the US sells it in various sizes. I bought a set of them with sizes from 1/4" to 2". Here is the 1" from Amazon (but you can buy any size from them): www.amazon.com/Tenon-Dowel-Cutter-Maker-Woodworking/dp/B0BRF3NJ5V/ref=sr_1_5?crid=HI5HXMUME8SL&keywords=tenon%2Bcutter%2B1%2Binch&qid=1692759060&sprefix=tenon%2Bcutter%2B%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-5&th=1 Here is the link for one on ebay in any size): www.ebay.com/itm/133744575581?epid=15021615165&hash=item1f23cc445d:g:RoMAAOSwDIBgiaPD&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4OBuGblB2oNnMP47WOuY27aczUahAADPyXb2L2i0S5vRouPKQC1vCJcci5azUJMQgAR60pTDf7%2FkmIJ1HryQHQSV6X4j9mK2RRaV6AL70qAQ7zMoJ%2FH8iQv0%2BXvKAJUhcThEIc8Y3jKd1KxiZk62bGlM5Jab65MAj%2FlL3HGzM%2Fo79o1qtWJiz%2B60eNyBjRmAWN4%2BLLNV91EreOUuggxL5P4lKzxopmY5pjoY2lixGqhnZtHIXHtFmP7f%2F7KXXwGLtCrvMloGL4htfbjGpAlcxmDRPkLiI2eimflwfEcnCTPD%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5j5-ITEYg Good luck on finding the tool. Thanks for doing this Eric! The drill you used for the neck hole is called a Forstner bit. Great video, I'm looking forward to the series.

Hey, Ed. Good to hear from you. Cleve is a great parson and a great carver. I enjoy his company, but not able to visit him during the pandemic.
Good afternoon, what are the dimensions to make the pattern for the head? Thank you!
John, the head is 3 inches wide, 3 inches deep and 4 inches high. Thanks for tuning in.
