Definitely. My current one has been excellent.
No! The basic model uses the 3 cylinder engine as used in the Mini. This engine is: 1. Too small for the car size. 2. Performs very poorly in reliability surveys and 3. £30k plus for a car with a 3 cylinder engine is way too expensive. BMW should have included the higher spec engine in the basic model too after all they are charging enough for it!!
@@bondjamesbond9041 I have a 223i on order. Being delivered to my door last week of November. When I was looking at them no sales person would advise me on what engine to opt for, but when I placed the order for the 223i all said best choice. One then told me that on the test days you had to drive a 220i, then jump straight into a 223i, then jump back into a 220i, and then you would know why you would want the 223i. Another said its as if the car was designed around the 223i engine, and then they decided to fit the 220i as well as an afterthought. I like the way it looks, and that is all that counts.
we have the older generation of this BMW active tourer, in the plug-in hybrid flavor. We really enjoy it, especially the kids with plenty of space in the back on the school run, and me when I return back home alone, testing out the 0-100 km in 6 seconds :D The boot was just big enough for us for the summer trip to Greece this year and last year for 2 weeks escapade in the Alps.
I've had the previous one, 225i absolutely amazing full of horses and awe panoramic sunroof
Whoever decided not to fit lumbar support as standard in BMW should lose their job in my opinion! I have owned plenty of their cars, but have always had to pre order them. That doesn’t always suit, so when that happens we buy something else where the lumbar support is there. I’ve purchased in excess of 10 cars at this stage. It would have been more if I had quick access to a comfortable backrest!
Good review….Not sure you can compare this to those models at 1.00 though. This is only a 5 seater….the others are 7. I’ve got the 2 series Gran Tourer 218i on a 2018 plate….5 + 2….don’t think BMW make them anymore but it is sportiest of the MPVs with the 2 extra seats if you need them (which we sometimes do). I see this more up against Qashqai etc. cheers David
If they offer the 2.0 diesel mild hybrid as the 3 series, yes, that would be a killer
Yet the Golf Sportsvan has a much roomier feeling inside. Try it yourself the difference is huge. Unfortunately it won't get a successor and there are no news of a possible "Variosport".
Does it switch off the engine in traffic? And when it switches back on - how smooth is it?
It does, however, isn't the smoothest when starting up again.

They shouldn’t have discontinued the gran tourer 5+2 seater variant.

Is this better than the Hyundai Tucson 2022??
Hi there 👋 It ultimately depends on your priorities - if you're looking for a more compact and dynamically engaging option, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer might be a great choice. However, if you prioritise a larger SUV with ample space, the Hyundai Tucson could be the better fit.

@@OsvUkVehicleSupply pretty much any car for that same money would be preferable. I’m already confident the market will reflect this. I never saw any of the predecessor model around, a few 7 seat variants but the 5 seat one is a waste of time especially now it looks like this.

What a hideously ugly front end! Shame as other elevations not too bad. Will probably be unreliable too.
