- To sample this new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, we flew to Malaga, Spain where the Bavarians hosted its international media launch. We had the chance - over the course of two days - to drive three different variants - the BMW 220i Active Tourer, 223i Active Tourer and the new top model 230e plug-in hybrid. The Active Tourer is the new BMW 2 Series Minivan.
Our first go was with the BMW 220i Active Tourer. The three-cylinder powered model comes with 170 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque (280 Nm) sending the power to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch Aisin transmission.
Take a look at the video to learn more about the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer!

Is the new 2 Series Active Tourer better looking than before?
I was surprised how much more I liked the IX when I saw it in person. I like the look of my current 2AT more but need to see one of these in real life.
1000%
Awesome, I'll be waiting it
I have been super impressed with my current 2AT. It’s been a fantastic car, so well built, fun to drive and better legroom front and back than BMWs much bigger cars. All in a nice compact body that’s perfect for UK roads. Will definitely get this new version when I can justify changing.
Thanks for sharing! The new one is miles ahead. You'll enjoy it
I m always waiting for u to upload any bmw video bcoz we both are passionate about cars especially bmw thanks mate u rock especially u tell everything in details I like ur podcast videos too 👍 keep it up cheers greetings from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
I really liked the car especially interior it look fresh bcoz we all know bmw interior quality is always great I mean modern bmw 👌
Thank you. Very kind of you
my mom ordered the 225e, excited to try hybrid technology
Good choice
🔥
What is the fuel consumption that you get with that engine?
I have ordered new 220i Active tourer after the indoor visit in Taiwan, no road drive actually. How about the vibration of engine with 48v while start ?
I didn't feel any. But I didn't fully paid attention to it either
Surprised no Adaptive Cruise control or even option, just standard cruise control included which is poor for a Tourer model although this may be because of parts shortages (plugin model-UK)
Likely shortages
Does the FWD have torque steer under hard acceleration?
A little bit, just as expected
You are 1.90, you placed the seats into YOUR driving position and there's SO much legroom on the back? WOW! I am 1.98 and I have to consider this VERY seriously! How would you compare the interior space in comparison to the (outgoing) X1? Thanks!
Yes, that was the point of the video to show the space. It really is spacious. It is larger inside than the current X1
@@bmwblog A million thanks for your help, I really appreciate it! Keep in mind that up to now, nobody in any review showed the leg space on the rear correctly as you did. Many "reviewers" sat on the back, but nobody gave any info where exactly the front seat was set. You clarified this tiny detail on the spot!
@@NikosKalogerinis I compared the space with the X1. The Active Tourer seems to have a bit more
@@bmwblog Thanks for this! I also noticed it, but in the X1 there is (for me) much more head room on the driver's seat, so I can place the seat a little bit higher. This gives rear passenger a tad bit more legroom. On the AT, I had to place the driver's seat full down, while on the X1 didn't. My X1 is on the boat as we speak, but interesting research anyway!
Will this be coming to the US?
BMW says no plans for that
@@bmwblog Thanks
They only seem to give it to us in Europe. I love mine because I get the BMW experience with fantastic interior space but in a compact dimension which is much better for our UK roads and tiny garages. It only just fits into my garage, even an X1 would be too long.
@@Pipsicle330 -- It looks like a nice car
@@Pipsicle330 Yes, not for the US. It is a good car, I can see it as a valuable second car
This just might be the ugliest car I've ever seen in my life. Impressive BMW.
Maybe, but it's better looking than the previous one and that one sold to 420,000 customers. So there is clearly a market for it
I actually think it looks great, especially for a car close to a minivan.
I prefer the looks of my current M-Sport version but the interior of this one is brilliant. Will definitely be getting one of these new ones once I’ve worn out my current one 🙂
@@Todestuete Yes, it's a bit more crossover now.
@@Pipsicle330 The interior is the main highlight. I was impressed with the quality and tech
My shed looks better than this ugly lump.
IDrive 8 for this and ignore g01/g02/f97/f98, WTF?
Newer model.
