  • I added the Seat Concepts comfort, carbon, semi-grip seat to my KLX 300 dual sport bike. This should give you an idea of how it looks, feels and whether or not it's worth the $300 over the stock seat.

I am very happy with my seat concepts seat on my klx seat foam is spot on and width is very nice for commuting, for riders that are short may struggle to reach the ground, I am 6 ft flat and the extra width doesn't stop me from reaching the ground comfortably!

waiting on mine, same as yours for same KLX 300. built just for me. people should know u fill out a questionnaire with weight with gear, age, what u ride, where, for how long, etc and thats why takes like 4 weeks. they're building a custom seat just for u!. and its worth it. Thanks for vid on it. nice job on the top down side by side comparo.

Thanks, yes that’s a good point. They do take your weight and riding style, etc, into account.

I have the KLX 300 supermoto I have the same seat yeah it was comfortable at first but for long rides you might want a seat cushion on top of it from my experience it hurt my butt after 30 minutes of riding and I would have to stand up for a little bit or move around on the seat to try and get comfortable I mean it's worth the money but you're better off customizing it when you get it and put a gel insert

@@kurbuy21 welp, only so much they can do its a single cylinder no rubber mounting, never expected it to 'tour' lol right?. on gel seats... dont do it, they heat up real good n fast in sun an takes all day to cool down.

Btw I have a seat concepts low seat on my klx300 and I love it. Good comfort and high quality. It is wider. I’m 5’4 and it definitely helps me reach the ground

Hey Josh thanks for the info. as I am 5'5 and have a short inseam of 28". I want the Klx 300 but just not sure if it's too tall? I am gonna go sit on one hopefully this week. Got looking at this seat and thought it might not make that much of a difference at only 1" but glad to hear. Are you able to at least flat foot with one foot due to the seat?

So did you buy a new seat (cover, foam and cushion) already made? I found the cover and cushion which you repulser your existing pan with. It would be more convenient to buy it all in with seat pan.
If so would you have the link?
    Thanks.

At 245, how is it legal to cut in front of those two vehicles, stopped at the light?

    • @motopicnic
      @motopicnic  Год назад +7

Great question. Both lane splitting and lane filtering are legal in California. They even teach new drivers to “make room” for motorcycles.
There are several more states proposing to adopt these laws right now, because the Insurance Institute data and a study by UC Berkley shows those who lane split are less likely to be injured in an accident. And that’s because we are protected from being rear ended and pinned between two cars. And then we take off faster at the green light than cars, and separate ourselves from the crowd of cars behind us. This helps us to be seen earlier and harder to hit. It’s good for them and good for us.
Some states with these laws currently awaiting a legislative vote include: Utah (already legal to lane filter), Arizona, Hawaii, Washington, Connecticut, Oregon and Virginia.
      Thanks for asking.

@@motopicnicThe suspension is the big win for the KLX. I've seen videos of NolanRides jumping his (big air) and it handles it. I don't do anything like that, but it's nice to know it can.
I keep going back and forth. I do ride 1-2 hours pavement each way to the trails (highway / freeway) so the L's 6th gear sounds nice.

      100% understand.
This will be a game changer for you, but don’t expect it to be a comfy couch. It’ll take some breaking in. But where you’ll notice it is in the long rides. The fact that you can keep going and you’re ok an hour later.
Let me know how it works out 🤘
